TheScroogeMcDuck 6 Posted August 27, 2014 I just recently bought a new graphics card, MSI Radeon R9 270, and now my game always crashes between playtimes of 15 minutes and 40. I updated the drivers but it still doesn't work. Help please.
Irish. 4886 Posted August 28, 2014 Check the card to ensure you have not left any plastic film covering vent slots.. if you have TAKE THEM OFF now. This is on your new graphics card. If no film exists, you should look into getting your card replaced as it sounds like its overheating.. but check the placement, cooling, etc. before you unnecessarily replace it. q.S Sachiel 470 Posted August 28, 2014 Hi, it does sound like overheating could be one explanation, and it's probably to do with your recent change, although you may have also interfered with other parts during your exchange of parts.Your GPU card may also have been connected incorrectly/poorly or your PSU may not be supplying adequate power, and the card fails under elevated loads. You may have a better reception from the Troubleshooting section of the forums:http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/forum/126-troubleshooting/ Just copy pasta your OP into a new thread there, or maybe PM a mod to have this shifted over. Read the sticky "Read this BEFORE posting" just to make sure you give the right information for people to help you more efficiently.I'd reccomend listing your critical system components: GPU (type & driver version & whether or not xfire/SLI)/CPU/RAM (amount&speed)/ PSU (make & wattage)/OS and possibly even MOBO. Good luck!

robbyj 77 Posted September 20, 2014 So, you are playing, playing, playing, and all of a sudden the game shuts down with no warning. Could you please post a system log while this is happens? Otherwise no one can tell you for sure what is causing this crash. If you don't want to do that, please try and play in windowed mode.

SmashT 10907 Posted September 20, 2014 Please report crashes on the bug tracker following the instructions in the pinned topic. Although people on here are very helpful with most other issues, crashes are something they cannot assist you with. They require crash dumps and other relevant information sent to the development team for analysis. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/186540-my-dayz-crashed-what-do-i-do/
