Its coming and we all know it.  The hardcore toon ive been so loving of, has come down into berenzino to do dirty for one last day, I think.  Either way a server wipe is coming and time to get the cobwebs out.

My current stable character has been alive for over 100 hours of gameplay now, through many builds of the game. He's been shot, pummeled, bandaged, injected, made sick, held up, climbed many ladders, and been forced to do a number of unscrupulous things. It's been a wonderful journey and I never imagined him lasting this long. Every time I log in is the time I might lose that character -- I never dreamed he would succumb to a reset.

 

This character has also been to Debug Island and back, and explored the islands to the north of Svetlo and made it back. That's in addition to making it to every town several times over, running all the major routes countless times, going many places most people have never been (including said islands), and just generally traveling a hell of a lot of distance.

Had my month old toon die to a possible hacker last night while sniping from the cliffs outside of svetlo. Whenever I venture on to high pop servers geared I tend to get killed by a hacker. Oh well he was gonna get wiped anyways.

You all know what you must do! ... You must end it on your own terms. Go to a heavily populated city on a high pop server and remain there until you die. How you do it is up to you; you can

Stand in the street zigzagging constantly to see how long you can dodge bullets

Help out newspawns, giving them supplies and help until one of them kills you

Hole up in a building while blasting Justin Beiber music.

Try to make friends with as many people possible, because after all those friendships will at least survive the purge.

Hold up as many people as you can

Try to stalk people without being noticed

Scatter notes around the city giving clues to your final resting place, then vomit repeatedly and run to that location so someone can find your dead body.

That's me, after looting Vybor, NEAF and the military base.

When I found out that there's gonna be a wipe I thought "what the hell", I logged in, I donated all my gear to a couple of guys I found in the NEAF (they would take better care of it, I would drop dead before firing a shot, being a complete noob and all) and then started fresh :D

Ok, meet Yaroslav (random slav name because he survived for so long that he deserved a name).

 

I have him in regular mode since i took the game.

 

He found his weapon (without attachments), clothes and backpack on a guy that was litteraly executed in front of him. (i was walking on a street near berezino, when i saw a guy running the opposite way, so i had i found a bush nearby to hide, that guy gets shot right in front of me, he falls down with a broken leg, six guys shows up and restrain him, then they shot in his face and run away without looting him). everything happened with me hiding in a bush 3-4 meters from them in the woods near the road.

 

 

Before the 0.47 update i played him as hero, helping the bambis or using them as scouts, i still remember when a guy insisted to follow me and be my scout (obvious Arabic accent, so i called him "kebab") and he tried several times to sneak behind me with random melee weapons, but i always busted him right before the attack, forcing him to invent the strangest excuses (like i saw a zombie hitting you, damn lag).

Oh you kebab, he was shot by a sniper at Solnichniy in front of me and another random friendly heavily armed dude. Never forget.

 

after the 0.47 i played him as explorer/hunter exploring every part of this map, and encountering a lot of people (most of the times i used the excuse "im hunting a pack of bandits" to look cool and not get shot in the back)

I actually hunted a group of bandits/military players, taking down one of them and force feeding another.

 

in summary

 

he survived for a lot of time

he survived at least eight ambushes and god know how many firefights

he killed countless zombies

He read one book resting on a campfire

he aided at least twenty players with direct help, giving supplies and giving fire support

he killed 3-4 players (plus one that asked to be killed)

He visited the major islands i the coasts of chernarus

he was restrained and robbed three times

he encountered a ton of people, friendly or not.

Hunting with my good old sporter (backup weapong gifted to a guy who robbed meshooting me unconscious with a sawed off duble barrel and then restrain me) but then decided to return my stuff because i was funny and he liked my voice. (gifted because he used the last ammo to shot me)

Yeah it is very annoying, the broken sounds. But yeh, atleast they have mentioned sound system in .49 patch features!

Btw what you mentioned happened to me just few days ago. No gunshot sound, my screen just shaked, lost some color, started zigzagging like a madman, but in the wrong way O_O.

I can't bear the shitty missing sounds at this point anymore, just like my constant death due to desync in closecombat firefights. Right after that shit happened with the sound, i acquired another M4 only to lose it again to a guy I shot while switching his weapons from mosin to akm (he did not have the weaponswitch bug, as I saw him move normaly before). He then aimed at me, despite having eaten 10 bullets already and shot me dead in 3 shots. Then, he died.

I'm not out to kill my character, but I'm definitely going to up my risk level a LOT from now until 0.49 is released. Why not, right?
