I magically broke my legs. Guess where.

Since you said you were stuck: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/160262-need-medical-assistance-in-dayz-sa-find-your-medic-here/ You could also crawl near a bunch of trees, look at the ground, and scroll your mouse wheel until you see "search for kindling". Then you just push F until you get a stick and hopefully you have a rag or bandage to make a splint with it. Personally I've only got the random death/broken legs once and ironically it was when I was on the Rify about to commit suicide anyway. I drank a soda near the edge of the ship where I was about to jump off and I just instantly died after finishing the soda instead... I could have been shot I guess, but I didn't hear a shot and I think it was a low pop server. I have had to save several people who broke their legs in firestaion a though.

    Which items are persistent?

I mostly play on my groups server which... Isn't very popular right now, most I've seen on the server is like 5-6 people. In any case I have a backpack on the server that has been persisting for over 4 days now, and I've logged off in a military base, came back 12 hours later and found the exact same items... Including a ruined backpack with a ruined clip and two ruined medkits inside. All this with the server being up 24/7 and restarts every 4 hours. This kind of leads me to think it is a quantity thing. So like on a server that's constantly at 40/40 players with people constantly piling things up, dropping them, storing things, etc. it's much more likely to stress the server and cause it to start crashing or deleting items.... Just my guess anyway.

my tent got wiped in .491

But are the backpacks/tents there after a server restart? There aren't any "pseudo-persistent" servers, so if items are the same after restart them you KNOW that it is persistent.... Now if it doesn't save tents and backpacks after 5, 10, 15, 50 restarts. Then you're getting into persistence being glitchy or broken. From what I've heard it should work something like: Random items :last a few hours Items dropped by player: last few hours to a day MAX Backpacks dropped by player: 1 day to several days Tents: forever! Or at least weeks/months.

my tent got wiped in .491

Or someone stole it. Or it wasn't a persistent server. Was the tent on the server and surviving restarts before .491?

    Found a tent in .49

Isn't it really easy to check if a server has persistence? Step 1: play on server Step 2: server restarts Step 3: rejoin server and check if the same loot is still on the same as it was before the server restarted Step 4: Celebrate! You've found a persistent server! I've found a few persistent servers that have all worked fine. Also some of them have had no indication on the loading screen that they are persistent, like my group recently got a server and contacted the provider to enable persistence. Persistence works fine, but it's not labeled as persistent anywhere. I'm having the same problem. I've searched like 15 different highrise apartments, probably about 30-40 times top to bottom all together. On persistent servers, on non persistent servers, on non persistent servers that just restarted, etc. and.... Nothing, not a single tent. And then I hear about these people finding 3 or 4 tents in one check. :(I'm curious if maybe tents only appear in specific rooms with specific layouts ( are highrise apartment layouts all the same or are they different for each building?) so maybe certain specific apartment buildings are more likely to spawn a tent... Or if all apartments are exactly the same, at least it would help me search the apartments faster knowing that I can ignore certain rooms, or focus specifically on certain rooms.

How did you first taste blood?

About 5 minutes after starting the game for the first time. I spawned just south of solnichny, meticulously searched that first isolated little house there for about 5 minutes, and as I leave I see a guy running up and punching me. Surprisingly I end up successfully defending myself... Only to aimlessly wander around bleeding until I died.

where do the tents spawn now?

Anyone try using tents on a server that they KNOW for a fact has persistence? I was on server for two resets when .49 came out and both times the loot items were the same after the restart, and the items I dropped were still there. One person said his tent may have disappeared because there was no items in it, so also make sure to put items in the tent. I also heard that tents can spawn in the farm/barn buildings, anyone find any in them?

    R.I.P. Thread, characters before wipe

You all know what you must do! ... You must end it on your own terms. Go to a heavily populated city on a high pop server and remain there until you die. How you do it is up to you; you can Stand in the street zigzagging constantly to see how long you can dodge bullets Help out newspawns, giving them supplies and help until one of them kills you Hole up in a building while blasting Justin Beiber music. Try to make friends with as many people possible, because after all those friendships will at least survive the purge. Hold up as many people as you can Try to stalk people without being noticed Scatter notes around the city giving clues to your final resting place, then vomit repeatedly and run to that location so someone can find your dead body.
  9. Your best bet in situations like this is to log out in a safe place and hop on the teamspeak server at:ts.tmwdayz.com Join a help needed channel and a medic should be with you shortly.
  10. I've heard that sickness can be survived if you are fully energized/hydrated and healthy, but I've never tried it myself. If you have a decent supply of food and a water pump you can also try over drinking at the pump, puking, and then filling you stomach back up with the food and water Best method though is to just take some charcoal tabs which will cure the sickness
  11. You may want to log out to stay safe, and go to the TMW teamspeak server at: ts.tmwdayz.com Join a help needed channel and someone should be along shortly to help you. If it takes a while you can also try asking some of the TMW members or recruits in the open channels.

    Berezino hospital

If it gets really bad you can try the stickied topic here to get a medic to help you: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/160262-need-medical-assistance-in-dayz-sa-find-your-medic-here/ TMW can patch you up good and give you some good advice while their at it. Personally, I don't like the hospital very much. It's very big and noticeable, snipers love it, random players are drawn to it, and it takes too long to loot given that there's just a few items spread throughout a large building. Personally I prefer the blue clinic buildings; you can find one in berezino near the police station(tan building with a some on top. The blue clinic is a lot smaller and usually has more medical supplies. As someone else said the nearby supermarket and water pump can help get you hydrated and energized which will slowly replying your blood and health. Blood bags need to be filled up with someone elses blood, you can't take your own blood. Also you can't apply a filled blood bag to yourself, you can only give apply the blood to someone else. Also there's the different blood types, so.... Yeah blood bags are a little complicated to use effectively for your own use. They're mostly for medics to run around givin people 0- blood :) For more info on the health system check out Meirno's videos.
  14. Glad to hear it! :) If you'd like to there's a survey on the TMW website you can fill out to help improve the service. Patient feedback survey You'll have to register on the forums to do it, but it's anonymous and helps the higher ups keep track of how everything is going and what might need more focus or attention.
