Will devs manage to bring new patch to stable by the end of August? [POLL]

But you are not saying what would be accomplished in a patch this soon. A patch that addresses desync or faulty hot keys...ambient sound problems....non working silencers..... Zombies that dont fly through doors..... Or a patch with a new gun model?

A patch is a patch, it doesn't matter what's in it. I personally do not want new useless guns (cr527 or AKM) and want some game breaking bugs being fixed.

The last stable patch was rolled out only a couple days after it was put on EXP. I'm still hopefull :)

Just have a look at the weekly reports. They and tweets/posts of the devs are the most reliable source for information about the next updates. A poll will not influence this process.

 

PS: Waiting for updates has nothing to do with faith...

Honestly it's no rush for me. I think they've done a great job lately. They will pull it out when it's ready. Personally I don't think they will release it in the next week.

I agree. Nothing would be worse than a rushed, bugged update because the community cried for it. Looking forward to a nicely done, bugged 0.49, though.

You need to have more options in a poll like this.  

 

The greater majority of posters probably haven't put a lot of thought into this very specific question.

 

There needs to be more options. Such as:

"What's a patch?"

Dang, a lot of people got offended by this topic. He's just asking if you have faith they will meet their end-of-month goal, or not.

 

On topic: I believe the patch will release whenever it's ready. Like other users have said, nothing worse than a badly executed (and bugged) patch. I don't believe that will be this month, so no.

I put "NO" just because you cant realistically expect a set date on new features since its still an alpha build. And bugs and stuff can push back a patch a couple of day or a week depending on what happens.

I made my comment based on the extremely minimal amount of video game development knowledge that I have. The devs (the one's with the extensive programming knowledge) will push the patch when they deem it ready.

 

I can't even begin to have an opinion. How do I know what circumstances they're facing?

 

Does it really make a difference if the patch comes out September 1st as apposed to August 31st? Or does that not qualify as "end of the month"?

 

My faith is that BI will do their job, & give us a finished product in X amount of days.

 

They've done an incredible job thus far & in a timely manner.

 

Just let them do their job.

 

I just personally feel that such a topic is redundant.

This ^ ... In my opinion the only reason you made this thread (whoever the original poster is ) was to bash the devs or at least get a couple kids on board to start a whine fest... I hope this is out of general curiosity and not to start some bullshit flame storm about the new patch not coming out when "promised" or something , but if you are truly curious than it's ok , but IMO there's no reason for such a poll seeing as the experimental branch is close to receiving a new update so common sense says as long as there's no problems we will see it pushed to stable just a few days after, and If it doesn't make it this month then it will be a few days into September , no biggie smallz at all .

He's not bashing the devs. I sense maybe a little frustration but isn't that fair to be frustrated with the game so far?

The devs are not to blame if there is any slow progress. It's the leaders so it is wrong to ever blame them. I'm sure they are talented and know what they are doing. It's just that there is a lack of leadership and a sense of urgency. LIke someone else posted last night..... the leadership and the experience game designers on the staff should have known 12 months ago that the current engine could not handle more zombies or persistent loot, loot respawn.... or more players per server... So know, everyone is going to be more frustrated as they try to add things to the current game which is why we see more desync (invisible zombies). So yeah, this OP might be frustrated, but he's not bashing the devs. The devs are just doing what their asked to do. I would bet my life that they told the leadership about the potential problems 9 to 12 months ago when they could have purchased or started building a new engine. That... my friends, is how time is spent when your crowning achievement to the world has begun.

So that's when I expect the .49 update to be implemented. There's no information to say otherwise. I don't really get what this poll is for, except for the OP to imply a lack of confidence in the developers, for whatever reason.

What planet do you live in when 40 million dollars in sales doesn't mean that Dayz is a crowning achievement and of which credit Dean deserves because the concept his is idea. I am defending the talented developers are working hard but just pointing out a little failure in leadership in my humble opinion.

In other words, himself and Bohemia knew how popular Dayz Mod and the stand alone was going to be on more than 3 continents around the world..... So yes, I think they should take it seriously as much as Cellini did when he worked on Perseus and the salt cellar for the king of France.
