Robert Neville 59 Posted July 4, 2014 Apologies for the rookie question. How do you zoom in/out with the long range scope after you attach it to the Mosin? The file says that it can be manually set from 200 to 800m. Thanks in advance.
fowang 60 Posted July 4, 2014 What your talking about is zeroing not zoom, to zoom you need to either hold the right mouse button OR use the plus key on the numpad
boneboys 7988 Posted July 4, 2014 Yep, ZEROING.I believe the default keys to be page up/page down (I have rebound mine so not sure).

Robert Neville 59 Posted July 4, 2014 (edited) Ok, let's see. Without scope attached, single click Right Mouse Button = aim. With scope attached, single click Right Mouse Button = aim through the telescopic sight. What I wanted to know is (bullet drop and zeroing aside) whether there is a way, when aiming through the telescopic sight, to zoom in/out so to get a closer/farther view. Is this done by holding Right Mouse Button? Edited July 4, 2014 by Robert Neville
Re-Patch 47 Posted July 4, 2014 What I wanted to know is (bullet drop and zeroing aside) whether there is a way, when aiming through the telescopic sight, to zoom in/out so to get a closer/farther view. Is this done by holding Right Mouse Button? Yes, either by holding right mouse button (but that is also default for hold breath) --> so I use the + and - on the numblock for zooming. Then when zoomed in as far as I want I use the right mouse button to hold breath.Does that work for you? cheers
wud 143 Posted July 4, 2014 (edited) LR scopes have, like mostly any other scopes, a fixed zoomfor instance the Huntings scope of my Grandfather had a 12x magnificationwhile ACOC´s have views from 1.5x & 6x magnification..in dayZ ithink around 3,5 or 4xso nope, you cannot zoom while in scope view..what you can do is change your fov setting ingame Edited July 4, 2014 by dawud

You can't and will never be able to zoom in the WWII scope. It's not a glitch...
Mookie (original) 799 Posted July 21, 2014 Is there any way of doing a very rough range estimate using the LRS? I get that it's just not comparable to the PSO, because it doesn't have the markings, but is there any rule of thumb about 1.7m representing such-and-such a fraction of the fat or thin vertical line such that range can be estimated? mercules 1290 Posted July 21, 2014 Don't use the Right Mouse button, use the +. The reason why is that RMB is Hold Breath and also has Zoom attached to it. You want to be able to zoom in without holding your breath so that when the time comes to settle your shot you can hold your breath for a significant time before you breath and start swaying again. ebrim 998 Posted August 12, 2014 On a slightly related topic, can one quickly switch from scope to ironsights? Or do you have to manually remove the scope first?
King Raptor 191 Posted August 12, 2014 You should rebind the breathing and remove it from the RMB. Will make you a heck of a lot more accurate.
umberfive 89 Posted August 13, 2014 So there are two different key sets for zoom and zeroing? I always thought the zoom keys (NUM+/-) were for zeroing, because my mosin always hits the target regardless being 200 meters or over 600 meter far away. So I can assume that my weapon is bugged as this behaviour is not intended.

You may be hitting the target the same but hitting lower than you originally planned. Or there's some other mechanic at work.
