slippery gypsy 107 Posted July 4, 2014 i like to put a full amphibia clip into someone ...then you have 10 - 15 seconds to raid there pack and skedaddle before they get back up .. i adopted the style of a guy i ran into in zelenogorsk i had been tracking this guy since kamenka the odd random door left opened i knew someone was about ... the guy was super careful ... finally hit zelenogorsk he must have circled the town while i went straight in ...... anyway long story short he ended up stalking me and finally shot me in the legs .... he removed my primary but left my secondary weapon then asked me if i was "friendly" .... i told him "i carry a sporter as a primary im far from hostile " he then proceeded to patch me up ....we then traded maps ammo and medical gear and both parted or seperate ways .....i have since then adopted that style of first contact when im lone wolfing ...although during the first time the whole time i was considering wasting the guy for having the form to shoot me ... but my son kept pleading that i didnt do it ....... this style works good so far for people who have a mic ....form yourself a basic set of rules and stick to them ..self preservation is number 1 ...... and scared people a detrimental to self preservation .... and the moral dog probably got eaten a very long time ago
trev186 389 Posted July 4, 2014 The funny thing about these kind of threads... How do you know how many times someone observed, but didn't kill you? This is how I play...I stalk people unseen....people my call me a carebear but I am not afraid to kill other players and have no intentions of playing hero or seeking out interaction with others...lone wolf til the day I die..However by stalking people I have learned how to go unnoticed and even picked up tips from other players unknowingly by watching how they approach potentially hostile areas...you can also tell who the noobs are pretty quick. I just wish there was a way to rob people without killing them. Several times I have stalked people up to the point where they retreat to the woods and log off. I am faced with the choice of killing them or leaving....I normally do not kill them unless they exhibited some hostile behaviour or have something I really really need (which most dont)...I would like to be able to search them while they sit there and take some gear possibly and add a note to their pack saying something like I could have killed you but did not and thanks for the stuff...or just strip them naked of all their gear and dress them in something really stupid looking for the lawls

trev186 389 Posted July 4, 2014 amphia clip to the body will knock a person out for 15-30 secondsYeah that is a possibility but they may logout by then...feel like if u catch someone who just logged u should be able to search them and as long as the window is open the 30 second countdown is delayed and then restarts after you close the window I may give the amphibia a try but I was not impressed with it in the past..a stun gun would be nice

JokersWarPig 16 Posted July 4, 2014 Stand alone just needs more zombies to fill the larger cities streets and random hordes roaming the map. I believe that'll solve most of the PVP in (insert city here). Players just need a common enemy, then KoS probably wont be so instantaneous.

Legio23 82 Posted July 4, 2014 As someone stated earlier there needs to be more zombies/infected on the map. All this PvP crap is getting stupid, its no longer the occasional skirmish from time to time but is now systematic and synonymous with the game. I'm all for the odd skirmish don't get me wrong but where is the survival element in constant PvP? in the end it just becomes another CoD game with a bit of a twist. Yes there is a question of 'survival' in PvP but I am pretty sure that this game was not just meant to be about that.
Lady Kyrah 1110 Posted July 4, 2014 As for OP, unless you like starting over and over in Berezino and taking bullets in the face, don't "team up" with randoms on map but find friends on skype/teamspeak.Well... what makes you think someone would not call you on skype just to take your shit? brumey 116 Posted July 4, 2014 i could imagine. gear that you store in your tent can be accessed via steam trading. therefore also appearing in steam inventory. would be awesome if we could trade items with other steam members via steam trading. cuz thats how i got rich in tf2 :)

infiltrator 275 Posted July 4, 2014 (edited) No because how the fuck would you be able to maintain any kind of civilization and hope of humanity if everyone was a KOS bitch? Hey if there was a zombie outbreak first thing I'd do is go kill my neighbors and take their loot. Edited July 4, 2014 by Infiltrator
scriptfactory 620 Posted July 4, 2014 (edited) Hey if there was a zombie outbreak first thing I'd do is go kill my neighbors and take their loot. Lies. Natural disasters happen all the time and the last thing people think about is killing their neighbors. Looting stores, yes. Stealing from friends/neighbors, perhaps. Killing neighbors, never. Helping neighbors or strangers in need? Often. Edited July 4, 2014 by scriptfactory

timedance 120 Posted July 4, 2014 DAYZ is nothing more than a "Berezino-deathmatch" maybe with version 0.5 - dayz is changing to some survival game

Testnewbie 34 Posted July 4, 2014 I don´t know on what kind of servers people are playing but I had a lot of friendly encounters on my "Hero Char" account. Don´t go into the pvp zones, try to use VoIP a lot and "ambush" the people. When you have the better spot and be friendly you will meet a lot of friendly people. Or at least that was my experience so far. I don´t play on softcore servers at all so maybe there is a different attitude on these softcore servers. But I usually don´t run into the "KoS problem" except I am playing with my pvp char account and go for it. As a sidenote, I haven´t seen Berenzino for weeks now. So maybe stay out of that? Just an idea.
Xelpherpolis 32 Posted July 4, 2014 Personally I think zombies need to be worked on, they are not a threat, buggy, and can see you for miles. People have an incentive to just kill other players because there is no real survival feeling, yeah 1 or two zombies now and then.. oh look tons of weapons, let me blast that player running into "my" town. What we do not need is more weapons.
audax 207 Posted July 4, 2014 (edited) OP, there is nothing to do beacuse you are too lazy to find something different to do other than killing people. and btw: everyone is a bandit because dayz is in the hads of kids. Mos1ey 6301 Posted July 4, 2014 The thing is, I started playing the mod about two years ago. And the last time I played it, was about 14 months ago. And there has never been a time as far as I remember that everyone didn't try to kill each other. Literally the first time I died in Dayz, ever, was when I was freshpawn. I ran on the train tracks between Elektro and Cherno, I stopped to look around, accidentally hit the salute button and someone shot me in the head. The spirit of dayz for my own account has always been what it is now. In the very, very, very beginning there was a little while where there was about a 60/40 friendly/bandit split. That changed as soon as people started posting videos to YouTube, then Reddit, and a lot of players from outside of the Arma community started playing though. By this time 2012 the deathmatch was on and it's been the same since.
