  1. Last week me and my friends found a military tent at the International Airport, we have some stuff in it and I know you're supposed to clean it out before the server maintenance later tonight (tonight for me anyways). I've never had a tent before so maybe someone who has could help me out here Will the tent only stay on a persistent server? What time does the server maintenance actually begin? Do you need to pick up the tent so it won't disappear or just the things inside of it?

    Clans treating DayZ like ARMA?

If thats the way they want to play thats they way they'll play. I don't play Day Z for the PVP, but me and my friends do go for military loot because its the best. It provides more spaces for loot, heavier fire power and camoflauge when you do run into other players.

    Clarification on "Base Building"

I've always figured it'd be simple things you can build, mostly just adding on to already built structures. My plan has always been to fortify green mountain or the "castle" near the international airfield once they impliment it.

    I like to aggravate Bandits.

Te point of me telling them is log out was to further ruin their idea of fun, I had a broken leg and refused to bandage so I wa dead no matter what. I'm ok with dying in day z, just not with people Torturing me as a freshie

    I like to aggravate Bandits.

I think some of you may have misread. I did not log out, I was killed by one of them. I threatened to log out in their face, I never did it. Like I said it was another 2 minutes of them arguing about me not cooperating or what to do with me before I finally got to one of them and they killed me

    I like to aggravate Bandits.

I dont have a problem with messing around in character, but I'm not gonna let someone get their rocks off "torturing" me in a video game. So yeah, the log out threat is an option. If you don't like it and it disgusts you, then sorry? Not sorry? It's the only instance I consider logging out it, I've lost plenty of characters in the rural parts of Cherno because I'd just accept getting wounded, run up on, and killed by a KoS'er. I have more respect for those guys than I do people who will mess with fresh spawns.

    I like to aggravate Bandits.

So like everyone else here I'll run into bandits from time to time, usually after I've died and am running from one city to another with nothing other than my jeans and some rags. A few times now I've had people attempt to mess with me after I've been wounded, they'll order me to do something or handcuff me, things like that. The best feeling in the world to me is ruining their fun even though I'm basically powerless. I just don't cooperate with them. Like these three guys (the one who killed me came up after I took the screen) Shot me in the legs outside Cherno and the guy in the cowboy hat ran up telling me to bandage myself. I told him no, and that I'm not gonna play their game and give them the satisfaction. That's when I heard the first bit of frustration in his voice because he made a pouting sound and then said "Oh yeah? Well...you already did give me my satisfaction" The next 3 minutes was them saying they'd bandage me and force feed me human meat, and I just told them I'd log out and wait for someone else to either help me or kill me on the next server. This was met with more pouting sounds and grumbles and threats. The whole thing finally ended with a third guy coming up and asking me what rhymed with "bang", and all I said was "Probably the sound of me dying." To which he had no come back for and hesitated before killing me. This or something like it has happened about 5 times to me now, and I always react the same which just seems to piss the attackers off and ruin it for them, and I love that.

    Theres only 2 servers?

Up until Monday I was only able to play Day Z at a LAN house. Bought my parts for my own PC, hooked it up and downloaded all my steam games. I went to play Day Z late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning and I didn't have any servers. I remembered the weekly maintenance and didn't think much of it. Late Wednesday night I only had 2 servers come up for me, I was gonna post this thread then but then I saw the other thread explaining maintenance would take longer this time. So I just tried to play and I only get 2 servers, the same 2 servers from earlier and both only have about 6 people between them. Is there a setting I messed up or something? I've never touched the filters for my Day Z and I have the regular version, not experimental. I figure there's no way that they're only 2 servers up and running and they have so low of a population.

DayZ 0.5 first impression after long break

Guns have been a pain to find (ammo or magazines mostly) since .49, but I remember hearing that in .50 guns and mags where going to be relatively easier to find? Maybe you just weren't looking in the right spots? I've found plenty of AK101's in places like Zelenegorsk and the small military base near the NWAF, mags and ammo where always the issue. I haven't played in about 2 weeks though.

Does anyone dislike the "no military stuff" agrument?

All the "Survivor man" douche bags who don't want military gear really get on my nerves. If you want to farm, or hunt, or play against the environment then go up north into the wilderness with nothing but a hunting rifle and bandages. Don't cry because they're adding in more military gear or weapons, there's enough civilian stuff right now that they can add more military or police gear. I respect that you want to play a certain way, but that doesn't mean this game should be a zombie game with no guns and one or two worth while melee weapons. Even if the game is set years into a zombie apocalypse and we're supposed to be the survivors, why would all of this stuff be just "gone" instead of spawning on us randomly when we first spawn? If we're the only ones left alive then we would have the best gear from the get go (I don't want that mind you, I prefer looking for it). There should be plenty of small arms in the game, from civilian to military, as well as ammo for them. If they want 100 people servers and a map full of zombies then you'll need weapons and ammo. What should be rare are attachments for these weapons (except maybe the hunting scope given its for a hunting rifle) and heavier pieces of military equipment like belt fed machine guns. I honestly welcome any piece of military gear that's added to the game, because I'd rather play as a soldier or a riot cop as opposed to a hermit that lives in the mountains. I'm even all for them adding (a very small amount) of heavy military vehicles like APC's and tanks, but these should be limited to like 3 or 4, globally, at any given time.

    thoughts/discussion on NPC's

I wouldnt mind there being random NPC's that are being attacked by zombies in some of the larger towns, or military NPC's that shoot people (bandits) on sight
  12. So after accidentally stumbling across a crash site the other night I had a thought that would possibly improve them. What if the three helicopters didn't just spawn in random locations like they do now? I think it'd be better if during the course of the server's time up before it restarts that the helicopters fly over the island before crashing. Obviously not all three at the same time, but at "x" minute intervals (like say every 30 or 45 minutes). The helicopters would simply be flown by an AI from point A off shore or up north to where ever they inevitably crash. If you want to get really dynamic with it you could have them land some where in between or circle a location before heading off to crash. This would give all the players in the immediate area and a little bit beyond to see the helicopter and track its movement before it crashes. The explosion from where ever it hits will no doubt also attract nearby players. I think this'll give people a good reason and motivation to head in land, because now there will be a reward for it, the promise of some military loot and weapons that are relatively uncommon. This would also force some player interactions in areas where they normally don't happen. This will no doubt lead to PVP over the crashed helicopter much like it is now, but if the crash sites where done this way I feel like it'll pull the heavily geared people towards them to fight, as opposed to those players going up and down the shore looking for places to camp and kill freshies. I came up with this mostly for the intensity of following/tracking a helicopter and moving up on it once it goes down. I also think it'll fill that space of what to do after you get fully/relatively well kitted out

Why do the majority of players i encounter suck?

I've met twelve year olds in this game more friendly than the adults who play.

    Mosin & Heli Crash Sites

I've seen one chopper crash site outside of Cherno, but I've seen 4 at or near the NWAF. I just found 3 mosins in Zelenegorsk as well as an LRS. The most common place I've found the mosin is the piano buildings

    Where's the action at?

I've had some fights while looking for gear at Zelenegorsk, and even though they were small engagements (two vs three was the largest) they were pretty intense. I've only been sniped at at the NWAF. Cherno/Zelenegorsk have a pretty decent mix of heavily geared guys who are almost always looking for a fight, snipers, and fresh spawns who are just making their way down town. If you go to Cherno check the top of the fire station and the big factory in front of it. Almost every time I've been in Cherno there has been a sniper on one of them.
