So which one is it?

 

HELI CRASHES ARE NOT IN STABLE>>>

DEVS ARE YOU GUYS GONNA GIVE US AN EXPLANATION??

 

OR JUST KEEP IGNORING US??

 

 

Are you kidding me? I've been searching for one for hours using a map I thought they just randomly spawned at some locations across the map.

However like 30 locations in a row being empty...

 

God damn.

 

 

 

Anyone noticed how sneaky the AKM drops are? I find them almost exclusively in barracks, under beds or sinks.

Remember and look under the bed kids.

Are you sure they were the right crash sites though? A map I have showed me loads and then it updated but it doesn't say what version it's for.

So I guess they could just be in different places now but it's kind of hard to believe people haven't found them in their travels, I must have traversed like half the map looking in the distance with binocs.

 

 

The AKM doesn't seem so rare at all I think mostly when people aren't finding it they were too late just earlier I found in barracks at that one tiny military base next to a town, an AKM(already had one) a 30 round mag, a 75 round mag and I think somehow the one mag I had duplicated.

Almost seems too common really, 75 round mag is pretty OP too.

75 round drum mag is way too common. I played trough out the weekend, roughly 6 hours per day (not in one session though) with my crew (4 ppl) and now all of us are armed to the teeth. Everyone of us have an AKM with PSO-1 scopes, railings, bipods, weapon flashlights and atleast 2 drum mags per guy! So far we have not been able to find a single 30 round mag. Anyway this is just a balance issue so it is not that big of a problem.

I don't think this works. Atleast I wasn't able to paint it with either of the spray paints.

The only real issue that I want to complain about is that the gun shots still don't play everytime someone shoots. For example this is what happened to us:

We were in Balota as the server restarted and when we joined back we went for the fresh loot in the barracks. One of my friends pulled couple of zombies and started whacking them with his fire axe. He took few hits from them and as he started to bandage he suddenly got a message that his legs are in pain or something. Since no gun shots were heard by any of us (4 ppl) he though it was just some kind of floor/wall zombie hitting him. Well since he didn't see any zombies he started crawling into the barracks because now it seemed like someone was actually shooting him (still no gun sounds). Only the last couple of shots the sniper took from the Balota hill were heard but I think atleast a good three shots were completely silent.

Also it is totally random who hears the gun shots. At one time we were in Zelenogorks when we started hearing M4 and AKM shots less than few hundred meters away, but one guy in our group didn't hear them at all. This kind of thing happens fairly often were usually one or two people don't hear gun shots at all.

This gun shot issue is propably the only thing that bothers me alot.

The updates to stable have been monthly, since a while ago. Unless they're hotfixing something in stable.

how can you paint the akm wooden buttstock camo?

You first need to paint it black and then apply green spray paint on it.

EDIT: This does NOT work the other way around though with green first and then black.

I tell you what brother .47 is wicked buggy.  I hope they don't put it in this week.  Freezes and random deaths are quite common too.  Don't believe me?  Opt in for the beta and go ahead on any experimental server, you'll see what I mean with in the first 5 minutes.

I wouldn't despair too much, they'll get it fixed I am sure.  Loads of us are faithfully reprting bugs when we run accross them or are backing up already reported ones..

Ok, so I'll start a list of issues with the patch using this post.

1. Stuck at "Please Wait..."

 

2. Spamming of hotkey needed to complete desired action

 

3. Game crashing at random, and more often than previous patches.

 

4. Game crashing when leaving a server.

 

5. Weapon on back shaking like a Polaroid picture when sprinting.

 

6. Spawn timer ALWAYS being at 99 seconds, no matter what.

 

7. Military tents with wooden floors not spawning gear.

 

8. Cannot craft Leather Courier Bag/Leather Backpack

 

9. Server restarts cause character wipes.

 

10. Destroyed pick-up trucks not spawning gear.

 

11. Walkie Talkies not properly functioning.

Smh. I'm quite happy to be apart of the alpha experience, but I wish they waited for beta to release. Could have avoided people/statements like this. I find it shocking how many players are flat out lying to the game/themselves when they click the I understand button. It's currently in development! Wait till its finished then. Hell just leave it alone, your $30 has already gone towards making a game we'll enjoy.

I personally can't wait till SA is fully released and the modding community has at it. Thats when the true magic begins. SA could be the foundation for a line of varied postapocalyptic sims to come. Look at all the different playstyles the original DayZ mod gave birth to: DayZero = hardcore survivalists, Overwatch = instant gratification shooters (COD and Battlefieldish), Epoch = Base builders/server communities and even the newer combined Overpoch. Each update we experience is a layer in the foundation and a new layer can open up a whole new set of mods/additions down the line. So don't  cry about its current state, it's in Alpha! Till it's done just do us all a favor and stick to youtube videos for your dose of DayZ.

I'd like a visual representation of all the players who've spurned the alpha and returned to play the game, versus people who've spurned the alpha and never played the game. 

 

A pie chart would be cool.

Smh. I'm quite happy to be apart of the alpha experience, but I wish they waited for beta to release. Could have avoided people/statements like this. I find it shocking how many players are flat out lying to the game/themselves when they click the I understand button.

Imagine if other things in life worked like this. For example: what if you could buy a half-finished car for half the price, then every week a new important part or body panel was added to it. Would you complain that your car has a strong breeze because there are no windows? No, you wouldn't, because DDDDUUUUHHHHHH.

 

If only people could grasp this concept :)

And, I'm convinced I saw a thread on reddit or on other media where Rocket answered to the question "Should people buy Dayz SA Alpha?" and his anwser was a big NONO.

This 100% , this is what kids like bigcountry need to understand before posting ... I mean something like Areal(seems to be a fake game) deserves the shit talking that these dayz devs get but not dayz (or it's devs) , it shouldn't be bashed everyday because it's honestly the best survival multiplayer game out there , she's just got a lotta kinks is all ;) .

Well said! Here lemme try my hand at a ridiculous yet elaborate comparison, in an attempt to reach them. Hey Kids! Gather round and lets see if I can paint this in a new light. Now picture this whole alpha release experience as if its one of those Teen movies we've all grown up with. They've had moments that made you happy, made ya mad and maybe other emotions too. Looking back it didn't really matter what emotions it brought forth, because it was a broken depiction of those teen years. In the end all you needed to see/take away from it was the transformation process. DayZ is kinda like that oddball of a girl, shes used to being picked on and what not. Sure shes got some crazy braces that connect to a back brace. And you cringe and shake your head in disbelief while she fails to see through all the bs that jock keeps sending her way. Just don't forget how they all ends, she grows into her own, finds out who she is and what it is that defines her. Most importantly she becomes a total babe! So in the end I guess no big deal guys and gals (translate the gender version as you see fit). Feel free to miss out folks, but I'm sticking around till the headgear comes off. I sense a hottie!

So, if I get your point, Dayz is a bit fatty with huge glasses and braces, but on her way to be the total babe on her 10 years Highschool prom reunion.

VS other games that were like the Highschool queen that, 10 years later, has hips larger than my computer desk.. *cough *cough Diabl*cough *cough

they released the alpha because they needes the funding. Of course they are gonna come out and say dont buy it. If they didnt want us to buy it, why did they release it

Well, F-35 have been buyed by several countries and it's not finished yet

CSeries from Bombardier were sold before the planes could even fly.

If you're not the type of person to buy upfront for not finished/undelivered stuff....well just don't!

 

It's not like Dayz wasn't advertised as an unfinished game....
