frosti 2165 Posted June 18, 2014 (edited) NWAF's tent City is also bigger than balota's I've been there twice or thrice, every time had to kill some server hoppers, not going there anymore becouse I can't handle the stress, even thinking about those tents makes my hands shaking. Everyone once in a while (probably 1/4 chance) some group spawns in a tent that I already checked and they pop 2 bullets in me before I can escape.
krisfx 11 Posted June 18, 2014 Balota airfield and both the sobors were deathmatch zones on the mod, normally controlled by bandits, so heading west was normally more fun and dangerous. To be honest, I blame the fact that there's a supermarket and a police station/fire station in almost every town now, which really doesn't make the trip worth it. With people also spawning near the NEAF, it's the most convenient place to pick up a weapon. It's a shame really, as there are two airfields and two and a half military bases to loot, which makes gearing freely pretty easy. I agree with OP, I've been at NWAF for some time with my buddy, just running around picking up loot.
KingOfTime 267 Posted June 18, 2014 When I first started to play the SA I was terrified of the NWAF because of my memories from the mod. However, after many journeys there, I have determined that it is a paradise; especially on full servers. You can run free and act like a jack ass because no one is there. grimm89 1 Posted June 18, 2014 (edited) See, I don't get why people don't just leave these f*cking towns... Me and my friends have spent 3 days inland on full servers and not seen a single soul. What's the point in hanging around the coast, where you're 10x more likely to get killed, the thrill about DayZ is not expecting where someone will be, and if everyone's in the same place all the time and you expect people to be there, you lose that... Seeing that guy in some random woods, spotting a player the other side of that field, thinking about what you have to do to not die... That's how DayZ should be, not; "Oh well, if I die I'll just spawn in the same place anyway, doesn't matter". There's no sense of consequence for these people that hang around the coast. Yuval 221 Posted June 18, 2014 I would love to explore the map and look for heli crashes, never found one in DayZ SA (nor tried yet)
attackm0de 38 Posted June 18, 2014 I know the NWAF and surrounding towns like the back of my hand. Im lost on the coast!

agentneo 337 Posted June 18, 2014 the problem isnt respawns, it's that the actual items at NWAF arent better then those at NEAF. Mill spawn is mill spawn. why go far for something i can get close? Theres no Perisistent storageTheres no VehiclesThe items in the near-coast mil bases are the same as inland. so to sumarize, going inland means when you die it's that much further to find your buddies again. no reasont o go inland. nothign special there. sorry. The airfields at Balota and NW are far superior to NE, what are you talking about? There are tent cities which are THE place to go for Acogs and LRS....There is much much more gear at those two than NE, (NE only has 3 or 4 buildings)...there's never much at NE, because of all the noobs running there...So There is plenty of reason to go West and NW....this is just foolish claims
deckard2019 2 Posted June 18, 2014 I like going up to the NWAF, though I am always wary, some may say paranoid, as I am normally a lone wolf. There is usually plenty of kit to be had and I like the cover the trees provide so that I can scope out the area better before I move in.
Jex 1104 Posted June 18, 2014 I like walking around the map so I'm hardly ever on the coast but will make stops at all the militry loot places just for the excitement of getting into trouble. Then I have a nice break from the adrenaline as I make my way to the next point on the map (usually with a mate or two) and enjoy the scenery along the way.
KiskilleAcronym 43 Posted June 18, 2014 (edited) People are getting bored of running around the map for 30 mins up and down. It makes more sense to stick to the coast and just have a good time with freshspawns. But if you manage to find someone at NWAF it won't surely me some KOS-ing moron that you run into all the time. :P Edited June 18, 2014 by KiskilleAcronym
blunce 991 Posted June 18, 2014 (edited) it's that the actual items at NWAF arent better then those at NEAF.Essentially, yes. It's just that NWAF is just so much larger & offers more loot in general. Theres enough loot there to fully gear up a squad of 4. Edited June 18, 2014 by blunce

NEAF is just better picked over. you can find anything avilable at those places at NEAF (especially on low-pop servers that arent picked over) NWAF and balota should have completely different loot tables with items that DO NOT SPAWN anywhere near the player spawn areas, ever. that will push people inland right now the only benefit of ging inland is some novelty attachments and if i die along the way that much harder to meet back up with the crew. most clans are staying centeralized nears spawns because they CAN get everything there, especially considering most loot farm for what they need anyways. xalienax 621 Posted June 20, 2014 Essentially, yes. It's just that NWAF is just so much larger & offers more loot in general. Theres enough loot there to fully gear up a squad of 4.again, increased availablitity does not = good reason to complicate regoruping with your clan/squad. go to a short reset server with less then 15 players and you can easily gear up at NEAF. Add high-end mill spawns to NWAF (see: FNFAL, AR's with M203, LMGs, DMR, M24, etc) and people will go there in droves. simply having a few more millitary loot buildings does not justify the hike right now. especially since theres no persistent way to stockpile like in the mod. blunce 991 Posted June 20, 2014 go to a short reset server with less then 15 players and you can easily gear up at NEAF.Well when I made my original post, it was assuming that people weren't exploiting short resets. That being said, I still stand by my statement, although I do see your point.
Dagwood 680 Posted June 20, 2014 With the removal of military buildings from NEAF the west side will be popping, don't you worry

But I enjoy encountering players. Not killing them. I said sticking to the coast because the chances of encountering a player at the coast is like 3x bigger than in the center of the map.
