Global stats for everyone to see I do not really care about but a personal stat profile would be great.

I'd like to see similar stats that the mod had at one time with the debug to see how many zombies you've killed, etc, basic stuff. Gives you something to measure up against for yourself. If you want to see how many zombies you can kill, then try to top it in your next life, whats the harm?

 

I'd also like to see deaths on the server, or at least personal message about who killed me. Seeing many death messages just kinda lets you know whats goin' on around the server, and would only really serve to build tension, which also seems like a good thing. But at least who killed me, I mean you can't even get close enough to talk to most people, so why not SOMETHING to take with you and fix your mind on for revenge (if you want to).

I would rather like for the player to do it himself. 

Like, you press "J" and then you get a little scrapbook popup where you have a site for kills, days, zombies etc. Where everytime you kill a person, you can draw a line or something like that.
So in the end you have a page filled with lines. 
I don't want it to be when you die.

No, statistics just influence people's gameplay in stupid ways and are nothing but bragging rights.  If you care about how many people you killed or the long distance shot you made or whatever, keep track yourself =P

I'm not really into tracking Z/Player kills or getting into any man-length style competitions. The only statistic that should have any weight is the 'Days Survived IN Game.' And it should reset on each and every death.

 

The other stats are just fluff. May be fun to see some of them, but only if they are NOT aggregated to some BS ranking site.

The only problem with adding k/d/r statistics to a game like DayZ is that it takes away from the game itself.  It becomes less of a survival game and more about your stats.  This is not MLG.

LOL  with all the complaints about KoS and constant death matching you want to add something that premotes it?? not only premotes it but will encourage the lowest form of it eg hanging out at the coast shooting freshspawns cause this will be the easiest way of getting your player kills up.

 

Probably the most ill thought useless idea i have heard to be honest.... The game is ment to be a survival game, granted its currently bindly easy to survive ,lets wait and see how hard it becomes( i am hoping pretty hard even if it does chase off many of the mainstream players already complaining zeds make it to hard to get going when really zeds are way to easy even glitched as they are.

 

Only 1 stat matters to me and its one i can keep a track of myself and thats how long i survived, i dont need a stat to tell me the adventures i had because if they were good i remember them.....

I can agree on lifespan timer and distance travelled. But no info on what/who killed you in any way shape or form.

- Biggest fish caught.

- Meat burned.

- Batteries licked.

 

etc.

general statistics on how you died /by what weapon at what range would be okay to know,

however soon there will be forum shitstorms about "that weapon being op" because of the kill statistics with it and other BS (look at PS2 for example, no thank you)

 

a feedback on who killed you would make betrayal no choice anymore, you will always know who killed you...

and i want to reserve my right to kill squad members who behave like a-holes at the moment

I thought it would be nice if they put an anatomy picture up all detailed and what not and show how you died I also like how neo scavenger does it as well you are dead is just boring. I don't care to see who killed me etc but be nice to see an image of my toons mangled corpse and know medically how he died.and if you die by a glitch you just get a picture of cthullu laughing.

Yes. I want stats. It won't make the game arcade at all. It will give you just another reason to keep you character alive. It will not make the game less about survival, but more because you want your character to live as long as possible because of the stats.

Like others here, the only things I would want to see would be Days survived, and distance travelled. Beyond that, I don't want to know how many shots I fired, how many shots hit their targets, who killed me, how I died, or anything like that.

See all stats do is turn average players into stat tracking asshats hell bent on moving up the ladder. They are useless in a game like DayZ. The hours you have played are all anyone needs.

 

I'd like to see your "fuck no" and raise you a 'hell fucking no' Stats have ruined every game that I've ever played! Recount ruined WoW, as your well geared players ignore the game mechanics because "omg, the meters!". K/D ratio has contributed heavily to the ruin that the arcade type FPS shooters have found themselves in as well. Too many children trying to boost their K/D instead of playing the damned game.
