First, I wasn't sure where to put this thread, so I just did it here. Before you write, please read the whole post.

 

I should explain the weird title. Yes, I know, we are all wasting our time anyways, but it's really sad, especially in this forum. I may be wrong, but I think the people who develope DayZ do not give a flying f*ck about what we write in these forums. The only thing they do here is posting news. That's it, kind of. Sometimes they answere random question, but I never saw Dean or any other important person discussion subjects that really matter to us.

Look at the suggestion forum. So many people, so many ideas. And it really does not look like anyone cares about it except the users.

Look at the general discussion thread. We had so many threads about so important elements of the game and many of us were a part of it, just the developers were missing. All the effort the community is putting in this forum, wasted for nothing.

 

The only place they care about, that's what I have expirienced atleast, is reddit. Sure, reddit is cool and all, but there are so many suggestions, ideas and discussions in this forum, that reddit never came up with. Its so sad because many people really think they can make a difference by writing a cool thread about a problem or a concept. But in the end, it's just some beans they get and the attention of some random users. Why is there even a suggestion forum, if nobody cares about it? It's more like a "Complain about the game and waste your time with writing about stuff that we'll never read"-Forum.

 

Maybe I am wrong and with your help, we could proof it. If we have enough people talking about this thread (you DON'T have to GIVE ME ANY BEANS I don't care about them!!) but just keep this thread alive so we can see if they do care about it or not, then we'll find out the truth about them (hopefully). If there is a person who is important for the development and he'll be here saying something like "Well, we are reading what you write", then we can say, that atleast we are not wasting our time.

 

I don't want Dean and the developers to read EVERY single thread, sure they have other things to do. But atleast the important ones. And if this thread gets "important" (which btw, I highly doubt because you guys are lazy ^^) or popular and nobody ever responds to our "protest", well then we will know that nobody cares about what we write or do in this forum. Nobody, except of us and the mods...

 

Just make it happen guys, if not, this thread is pretty much useless and ready for the graveyard. But I guess, it's worth a try, even if as unrealistic as it seems.

Uhm, that is no feedback. That's more like customer support. I want him reading for example the thread about Hive connceted Servers or character progress, things that actually matter to us. Not some error fixing.

Im in touch with Hicks or Matt almost everyday as well. Even if im just sat in a chat channel with them.

 

I dont chat to rocket everyday but I see him about regularly.

 

As to posting uber regularly here, no they dont as a often as reddit but we've been over the reasons for that so many times.

 

The point is, info fom here does get through.

If you had read the threads about character progression, we were actually discussion what KIND of character progression we want. And many weren't really happy about "beards" and some immunity against viruses. Like, who cares about beards? What if I don't like beards?!

So, if character progression is indeed confirmend, why do we know almost nothing about it? Isn't is something that should be implemented before cars? Well, I don't see it being a part of the road map. And it is a key element of the game, a CORE feature. So, I guess it's low priority?

This is it, if Dean had read or even seen the discussions we had, he would've explained to us, because many don't even know of the progression thing.

Well, why are we even discussion this. If someone of the team has one minute to spare, he could come in this forum and confirm it. I would be very happy about it, and there would be no need for discussion, if they are honest, and you guys weren't like "There is a dude in a forum that says you are not reading anything in the forums".

It's not that hard to proof, I mean matt is even talking to people in the steam chat group. And who cares about the f*cking steam chat group?

I would like to link a post which i made some time ago because i actually think its a problem which should be adressed and forwarded to the devs.

I talked about the necessity to hire a pr person, which i would at this stage of developement extent to pr person / community manager. I apprectiate what you mods do here but i dont think its the best way to channel information. There needs to be a single point of contact between devs and community to filter and forward useful information from the community to the devs and from the devs to the community and press.

 

Personally i think that a lot of uproar and trouble could be solved with a person responsible for the information exchange.

I trust very people, but little goes into life without work. 2,000,000 paying customers doesn't mean these guys are made, if they're human - they'll want more money and more money will only come out of a release. When a mod or any DayZ staff in fact posts on a reply, looks at a post, finds and suggestion interesting, I trust in them to pass that off to a dev. End of the day, deal with it.

 

Also, I "waste" my time on the forum because like many others, it's great to have a community and talk to other players, especially when they're not suggesting I put my hands up and take off all my gear.

You see we do agree to an extent on this as you have made a similar point as the op BUT without insinuating or being snide, which is appreciated.

 

I wish the whole dev team posted here more in general. We all do. But as has been explained many times before there are reasons for this.

 

Is it an ideal situation? No. Are we doing our best to keep the devs informed of what goes on here and feed back appropriate info? Yes.

 

Will demands that they post here work? No.

 

Do they Lurk here? yes.

 

You dont have to believe us thats up to you.
