Oh why, why you nostalgia trip me :(

Everything was new and interesting, and that made it fun. After you know it all, it loses much of it's magic.

THE FEELS, OH GOD THEY HURT SO MUCH!

If only we could go back and feel what it was like when we first played. I never got the completely lost feeling (never really took much notice of maps for games before this one) as I had spent months researching before I finally payed $20 for the game that led me to Arma.

But that feeling of going into a game I had never played before and seeing my first zombie. That is the one thing SA cannot recreate for us veterans of the game. We just know too much, we are numb to it now. Now it is only frustration that fills our heart when we see a zombie that is about to make problems.

However SA has given me one thing. The first time I ever felt remorse in a game.

I actually felt a tiny bit like a new player, playing Breaking Point for the same time today. By the time I knew I felt fear of my first zombie, the feeling was gone. :(

I just had a look at that video on Youtube that pretty much started all this DayZ fever that eventually led to a standalone. I hadn't seen it for almost 2 years when Dean posted it again on his twitter...

I gotta say, I reaaaaally miss when Zeds were that fast and much more dangerous... reminds me of those scare Zeds on "28 days later"...

I miss the broken vehicles lying about the place. There might not be any usable vehicles in the standalone,. but why remove the broken ones too? :(

i always found them annoying. removing was the best thing they ever did. even in the mod. frequently go stuck on thier wierd collision boxes and such- not to mention they ad a lot more world object to draw increaing load considerably for mid range PCs. At the time the mod came out i was playing on a dual core based rig with a 5770, and the removal of the wrecks/debris added a much welcom 10-15FPS in towns for me :)

I liked them for their ability to cocktease.

"oooh, is that an ungaurded vehicle I can use...?"

"No... just another wrecked car.. "
