This is a simple idea.

When you look at an item and you press the middle mouse buttom, you just pick it up and the item disappears, why not a little "Picking up animation"? Just your character extending your arm and reaching over to the item.

The animation can be like the one when you force feed someone, but without the item on your hand.

Don't know if it's possible or even useful. Just a simple idea.

Why not? It works in a lot of games and they introduced some good animations in ArmA 3, even if they just used some hand of swipe with the hand it would be great.

Yes, If I'm not mistaken, there is a "picking up" animation on ARMA III, they could get that.

Arma 3  uses a completely different player skeleton to dayz so just borrowing animations wouldn't work.

I like the idea but i dont think it would work so well when picking up items in vicinity.

You mean picking up using the inventory?

Ah yes, I thought about that, maybe we should also use ARMA III as an example, because you don't have the picking up animation on ARMA III when using the vicinity.

So maybe use it when you are not in your inventory.

If this comes in they have to make sure you can pick stuff up without putting your gun away and once they introduce the "cancel action" feature then yeah i'd be happy with this. But I don't think it'd be fair if players had to get locked into an animation and defenceless when trying to do this (and this is not just a specific problem, just I think they should only start implementing these extra features when they dont act as yet another unrealistic limitation like the bandaging/eating animations are atm).

Little hand swipe when picking up and hand movement around pockets (padding self down) and stuff when in inventory would be nice.

Would like things like doors to have a scroll wheel function, so you can open them slowly and clear room in parts.
