    Low Shadow and Texture Loading Distance

    I understand, but this also happened some time ago while playing the vanilla DayZ Mod. It fixed itself somehow but now it's not going away. If this is an issue in my end or this has little to do with you guys, I'll do as you said and go on their forums.
  2. So I was playing DayZ Overpoch after a long break and I saw something extremely weird. The shadows had a really low rendering distance and the textures/models only loaded properly when my camera was almost glitching inside them. I took some screenshots so you guys can see it. These are from my character. The second ones shows how, even if my camera is really close to my character, it still doesn't load properly. I'm not even going to mention the ground. This one also shows how no matter how close I am to the object, its textures will not load. My settings and proof that I do actually have ARMA II and ARMA II OA.

    As I said, it has been REALLY bad in the past 2 updates. I play DayZ since 2012 and honestly, I know what is city lag, and this is WAY worst, it's really weird. They will make it so it's not THAT bad, even with the "New" Engine that's coming up. But for now, as I said again, I want to know if I'm not completely alone!

    So today I'm going to talk about somehting that... Always bugged me on DayZ. FPS Drops. Yeah, no one, I mean NO ONE, can get good constant FPS in cities/fields, even with a 780 it's impossible to get good graphics WITH good FPS, at least in cities. I always had this FPS issue because I have a Medium End PC, but if I'm patient and I do some config changes and stuff to improve my frames, I can play it with pretty good FPS. And it works in most games, but it seems like that in the past few updates, not even changing launch pre-sets and other shit works. I can boost this bad boy up to 1080p, 100% Render Resolution, Post Process on Medium (MAYBE Ambient Occlusion), shadows and all of that shit and get good FPS on fields/forests, going up to 40 FPS! But... Then I enter a city... I lose about 90% of the Frames that I get in forests/fields. I go from 35~40FPS to, literally, 5~10FPS with CONSTANT freezes and almost crashes. Is anyone having this almost game breaking issue or is it just me? I can walk around a city, look at it from a distance that it only drops about 5 FPS, but when I ENTER the city, shit hits the fan and I end up dying because I get hit by zombies while my character stops moving. This will get fixed soon, I'm sure of it, but for now I want to know if I'm not alone!

    There are private hives now. That means that, basically, servers with private hives will save your gears ONLY on them. So that will stop most Server Hopers and force them to stay in one server.

    Stable Branch: 0.45 Discussion

    I have a GTX 550Ti and I'm playing on 1920x1080 on 100% with V-Sync on; I'm getting 45~50 FPS on fields and about 25~30 FPS on big cities such as Berezino. Great improvement, to be honest. It was basically impossible to play back in .44 Quick thing, though, my game is still "crashing" from time to time, it doesn't stop working, but basically it minimizes DayZ and it only shows my Desktop but the game is still running and I can still do stuff on it. The only way to bring it back is to close it and start up again.

    OH THE FPS BOOST THOUGH! I used to get 5 FPS (I'm not even joking) on .44 and now I am getting 40! Just launched it, but at least it's playable for me! Will update as I play!

    Cold indicators

    There was a Overheating thingy at release where you couldn't run for too long, but it was removed due to... honestly, it's annoying. In a game like DayZ, running is something we have to do. It takes so long to do stuff with full sprint, imagine having a limit. But they are going to add Cold, Wet and Hot status which would be cool, but I'm hoping they don't do it so you have a limit for how long you can run...

    More Immersive Notifications

    The only one that I find kind of... "off" is the thirst one, to be honest. Because if the sound comes up and the person is running, they wouldn't notice it. Maybe work on the idea a bit more. Now, the rest, I think that it'd be cool. Although we should still have the little bars in the inventory so if someone can't hear sounds for some reason, maybe the game is bugged or they don't have a good headset, they know if they are hungry, thirsty, bleeding, etc.

    *Sigh* I guess... I don't know if adding the MK 18 (Or the actual M14 EBR) would be a good idea. Remember, Chernarus does not have a military force like America or other countries do. I think that adding military-grade weapons like the M14 EBR or others would not be a good thing, because Arma III is REALLY military based. Maybe we could add the Mateba, but I think we should stay with these weapons and get rid of the military guns that, in my opinion, make this game unrealistic. I'd stick with the mosin, the AK and the SKS to be honest.

    There's a tiny problem with that. ARMA III is placed in 2025 (I think), so its weapons have kind of a futuristic theme, those military-futuristic-thingy weapons would NOT fit in DayZ. Also, ARMA III has a different model... Skeleton, so vests would not work on DayZ's character models.

    As I said, they are aware of that issue and many others. Also, this seems to be a problem that only a few people are having since many others (Including me) do not have the same issue. Now, the devs are working on many other things. I am not hating on the OP, I just said that, yes, the devs are aware and that he should not play Experimental as he would play the normal Stable, as he will lose his stuff and possibly get mad, as I did many times. ;)

    You're playing on experimental, you should be expecting that. And yes, they are aware of that and other MANY issues. Experimental is used as a testing ground, I don't recommend you to play it as you'd play Stable. You will lose your stuff if you do.
