Do you kill people with the payday masks on sight?

I find anyone who has the payday masks seem to  be bandits, I do sometimes try to be nice to them,that being said I find that its best to just take them out before they can take me out.

 

So do you guys see theses masks as the new bandit outfit Like I do? Or are you nicer then me?

Yeah if you're crazy enough to go round wearing creepy-as clown masks then you're surely up to no good. But that being said, they are quite a useful means of identification for a group (but the groups that worry most about this are likely organised to prepare to engage in combat, so potentially an increased threat).

 

I'm like you, I usually avoid / kill anyone wearing them. Safest option.

I only shoot people who surprise me and have a firearm in their hand. Or people who try to kill me, of course.

General answer, no.

 

If I see them from afar I make the call to avoid, or if I'm feeling risky stalk. See what the person is up to, maybe hide outside the building they are in .. go on voice and shout, "YOUR SURROUNDED. PUT DOWN YOUR WEAPONS OR -YOU WILL - BE PUT DOWN!" .. you know, for dramatic effect :D

 

Or you know, just calmly ask friendly. Whichever, and never put my weapon away - but I kind of hold that plan for anyone, if your a stranger, my weapon doesn't get put away; and you don't leave my sight unless it's to leave or I shoot.

 

Already had one guy in a conversation for 15 minutes or so before he turned to shoot some zombies, my gun was put away 'last he saw', but soon as I saw him draw his to shoot them I brought it back out, but kept it lowered - he killed the zombies then promptly spun around and shot me once in the chest.. but in that same second, I unloaded half a clip of m4 rounds into him.. and then remembered - don't trust anyone. Still don't know why he thought trying to take me down was a grand idea, not like he needed any extra gear. 

 

Still, the answer's no. I don't KOS, if you catch me by surprise like we run into each other at a corner and I see a weapon out I'll probably mow you down; but not because of the mask. Just because I'm not risking it. Clothing means little, it's all about if you have your weapon stance. 

 

If your unarmed, I don't trust that your unarmed - could have a pistol, a sawed off, who knows; but.. 

So long as the weapon isn't in your hands, your not a threat 'so long' as I keep my eye on you and am ready to raise and shoot if I see you drawing something, if it's a can of beans odds are I'm turned toward you - aimed at your head and will have the patience 'not' to pull the trigger, but your life should flash before your eyes that's how close to death you were :|

 

If we meet up and your weapons in your hands but not raised, and I never see it raise, same deal.. life flash before your eyes, but I may not pull the trigger if you put it away; because I know I can shoot faster than you can raise it. 

 

If your weapons up, your a dead man or I am. End of story.

Not immediately.  Sometimes I use them as a warning, or to ward off other players.  Same with darkened visors on motorcycle helmets and gas masks.

They're pretty much always CoD kiddies who think this is a great new deathmatch game. I don't even feel bad about shooting them anymore, normally if I'm forced to put someone down I feel that little twang of guilt, that maybe I could have done it another way.. but not with payday masked players.

Last one I encountered has a .357 hole in his mask. It just seems pointless and perhaps childish to wear it. You're a survivor, see a stupid clown mask and decide to wear it?? The  only real reason to wear it is to look menacing (like some warpaints are supposed to) , and anyone who wants to look menacing isn't gonna be friendly. So basically it's either gonna be a psycho bandit or a kid who thinks it looks cool. Definitely a bullet in the chest for both. They look like morons and I'll kill 'em for it

I hate payday masks in DayZ, but in the end it all boils down to, if you can control the situation or not.

If you are in control it does not matter what the dude wears, else you either run or shoot.

 

What I hate most is not KOS, but when people talk to you, pretending they are friendly only to shoot you in the head the second you drop your guard. That, for me, is the pinnacle of douchebaggery.

I wear a wolf mask and black assault vest over riders jacket and black gloves with black cargo pants. I'm pretty sure I scare people when I come through their doors with my all pristine m4,acog,ris,suppressor,mpstock,bipod,flashlight I prob scare the shit out of people lol. And I don't kos people but 9/10 of my encounters I have people with their hands on their head gun on floor or they run.. I have seen guy so startled he ran into a wall emptying a whole clip at a refrigerator lol

Run= my 2 sniper pals take em out

Comply= you get food, water,morphine I even tote sawed offs around to give away.

If I see someone with a rain coat/payday mask and no pants running around with an axe above his head.. he takes 5 in the chest.

It depends on how the persons behavior is really. I find people wearing gas masks tend to kos more

Saw a guy at the NWAF ATC tower.  Tried communicating with him and he started to log as my buddy with his LRS'd mosin saw him do the sit down stand up crap.  I tried climbing up the ladder to the top floor before he could but he was gone.  He must've heard me as I was trying to talk to him because he came back up stairs but didn't see me.  He ran back down to the front down and pow, my buddy fires two shots at him.  I get to the door and see him lying face first on the ground, so not taking any chances I fired one round into his skull sending a fountain of blood to spray into the air.  His gear was ruined but it didn't matter.  I tried communicating, I said friendly and offered supplies.  I got no response and this is what you will get every time.  Mask or no mask

Two days ago I was friendly to a guy with a mask and he seemed to be bit new to the game. He tried to bandage me but he hit me couple times with the baseball bat and I started to run for my friend so he can finish him. I don't know was the baseball hitting accident or what because he run with a bandage in his hands after me but I didn't trust him anymore so my friend and zombies killed him while I bandaged myself. What a shame.

One run through NWAF, I go from yellow raincoated axe murderer to heavily armed camo murderer.

I wear all camo for the... camo. So I can be concealed while shooting anything with a payday mask or gasmask. Or anyone associated with said mask wearers. Or if I think they might be associated. Or if it is funny.
