That simply isn't realistic. Civilians buy guns from all over the world. As do the various armed forces of many nations. You are thinking "Soviet Union", not modern day post-soviet blocs.

Yeah, shot one of the regular models on a trip to Alaska. The owner used it to hunt bears. He had balls of steel. I wouldn't go out hunting bears with less than a howitzer.

And granted there are people in the United States with AK's and other various weapons from other countries, but it's not the norm. I was more referring to putting things such as Russian bloc weapons in military spawns and make them more common then you would anything else. I'm not sure how you would accomplish having things such as M4's and such spawning in but things but i'm sure it could be accomplished. The biggest thing that gets to me is finding US - OD Green BDU tops and bottoms floating around complete with American flags on the side. I like DayZ standalones' feel of immersion currently and just would feel a little disappointed if we threw in everything else out there. DayZ was a prime example for me with American and British even German DMR's floating around and even large caliber AM rifles. With that said, granted civilians will have some non-bloc weapons, so make them a lot more uncommon then the russian made counterparts.

As for the mk17 yea that would be a long shot, that weapon would rare in the US let alone in some Eastern European country.

I think they should put good old M16A1, no fancy atachments, only ironsights. How it get in Chernarus? Smugled US army surplus. It would make good counterpart for AKM, as they were  on oposite sides in 60`s and 70`s. Keep atachments for M4.

Also, I think AKM should be without atachments. But AK-74M should have rails and atachments (cobra sight, GP25, 40 round mags, drums)

There's plenty of attachments out there for the AKM. The same if not more than the 74.

 

Although I do sort of like the approach of having a plain-jane AR being somehow more common than the tactical AR.

I don't see the point either, it would be almost identical to the one we have now, and also I don't like the idea of even more AR15-based rifles in Chernarus.

Especially a mid-length, if they are set on introduce a semi-automatic AR15 why not go with a full 20" rifle for variety...

We already have, what, 90 different combinations for the M4A1?

How many of those are truly viable, though?

How many of those are truly viable, though?

Actually there are 1152 combinations. But only 756 combinations have both a handguard and a stock. Only 72 combinations have dual Magpul, so I would say only 72 variations are viable. ^_^

Fine choice for a upcoming weapon.

 

I am honestly saddened there is no talks of adding more bolt guns to the game.

 

Game needs lots of hunting bolt guns, long range match bolt guns, and maybe even a scout rifle.

I rather see another Ar variant especially one used by the military that occupied chenarus as opposed to something stupid and unlikely like a SCAR, or a Steyr AUG

 

Hopefully we will get SA vz.58 then!

EDIT2: full auto Samopal vz.58 is not available for general public at all, just semi-auto.

I don't see the point in adding any M4/M16 variants into the game. I also don't understand why some people find the SCAR and Steyr AUG "stupid" or unlikely. Plenty of countries who are part of NATO use both rifles. (edit: use both rifles as in one or the other)
