Items you refuse to pick up?

After seeing the "Preferred gear" thread (I'd link it if I could find the damned thing) I got to wondering, what's some items that you always pass up? Of course, rotten food and ruined shit is an obvious answer. But other things, perfectly fine stuff that you simply don't like.

 

For example, I always pass up TTsKO gear, those horrible Payday masks (Anyone I see wearing those gets KoS'd), those stupid designer shades, and any pistol besides the magnum.

designer shades dont clip into my Asian lady's face though.

 

I usually pass on down jackets and canvas pants.  Until environment has more of an effect or inventory balance, I cant justify the low slot clothing.

More people get confused running through Chernarus trying to put some use to the compass, start running through woods and shit, and eventually get lost, when Chernarus is one of easiest maps ever to run through if you know some Russian and have some playtime.

 

Also, Machetes. Those should be more useful.

The 22 pistol (unless no other option or i find a couple of mags for it)

Any semiauto pistol i don't have mags for if i don't have another pistol with mags or a magnum (might try and get a 1911 or CZ w/mags one day for shits and gigs but the magnum is here to stay)

The mountain backpack. 1st person only for me, it's too big and an easy target.

Any knives or hammers unless bayonet (I have taken out multiple zeds with a SKS bayo before)

Rotten food.

Disinfectant

I agree with machetes.  A huge letdown right now.  hopefully they will get a nice animation too.

 

Compasses.  Using the sun as reference, I thought I didn't need them until I veered off the path during a thunderstorm.

Kvass is easily my favorite drinking item. I was fucking around one day and drank "alcohol tincture" and ended up getting sick from it.

I hate them personally. I won't pass them up if I don't have anything on my chest, but I don't like them. Aesthetically speaking at least. Now, if they were Rhodes style, fuck yeah I'd use them!

 

 

Edit: Never noticed until now, but Rhodes is a nasty little fuck. Got his tags just dangling out.

Compass is a very valuable tool and I use mine at least once a session. But I cover nearly every city on the map regularly inland. Really helps if I know where I've logged and it's raining when I log back in.

Also, Machetes. Those should be more useful.

The compass will give you directions immediately, regardless of the weather or location. It's perfect for finding back to the coast if you get badly lost. It's quite useful.

Cause if that was you then f*ck you, that took quite a few hours to get and i'm not a bandit unless i have no choice. Sure, i have shot people who made threatening gestures (who hasn't or who wasn't going to at one point) but most of that gear was for a mate.

Actually i usually lone wolf. I made an exception for my friend because he hadn't played the mod before and he had just gotten the SA.

 

And i think i have only been to cherno once or twice in the SA. Never used a blood bag, may have been given one by the TMW guys though. Never used handcuffs aswell (unless you count being cuffed as using them).

So it wasnt you then, dont worry i dont kill on site, i mostly travel by myself and my trusty tin of beans, If i hear gun shots i normally have a ganders to see the what carnage is happening. Anybody in trouble i normally kill the person who is causeing the threat...normally the people dont even hear the shot and they look around. Then I walk off to the next bit of fun i can find :)

Bright orange or yellow raincoats (well I sometime took em, but got rid of them ASAP)

stones (might change if they are usefull atleast as throwing weapon)

green bandages since they are useless

Pen & Paper (although I once carries written testament)

 

Weapons I take as they come by ofc. Would love to have .22 rifle but with magazine, wish it could fit in the backpack too.
