So much unnecessary divisiveness over game modes

I really don't get how the community seems to be so fractured over 1PP/3PP lately. I don't understand why there is such an overwhelming air of elitism with the 1PP players towards 3PP. Why does there need to be such anger and animosity towards a group of players who play the game differently? 

 

i dont know whats worse- the QQ about adding humanity to SA, or the 1PP elitists claiming 3PP players are hacks and no-skill scrubs.

 

Honest to fucking god- if you hate 3PP so goddamn much, stay off the fucking 3PP servers. When I play on 1PP servers, I don't chronically whine that I cant use my 3rd person camera view. I just play like I'm on a huge BF4 map. When I play on regular servers, I don't run around in 1PP mode just for the "realism", I use the same shit everyone else is so we are on a level playing field. Guy on the roof has an advantage because he can see me in the street and I can't see him on the roof? Damn right he's got the advantage, he has the high ground. Good for him.

Server browser alone is ample proof of that, I changed my server from 1PP to 3PP almost immediately after getting it, because it got no traffic. most of the hc servers stay empty or low pop, whereas there are all kinds of full or mid-pop regular servers, all the time. If mod support comes that allows something like that arma3 mod, have fun with it. I wont play it, and none of my friends who i showed it to were interested. Seems like its just a way for 1PP fanatics to lure 3PP players into a broken server...but hey, im just a 3PP cheating scrub, what the fuck do i know.

Honest story - first 40 hours of gameplay I didn't realize HC meant 1PP - I thought it meant you spawn ungeared every time. Why? No idea other than the first time I spawned was after gathering loot and I was back on the beach... I'm actually curious if. Lot of players never venture there as they don't understand it.

I play both, at first I was upset that people could 'cheat', but now I play regular like it was Metal Gear Solid Online. As in, only staying in 3rd person, even while shooting (unless scopes). Makes the gameplay a bit different than just first person all day erryday.

I would have to agree with you completely but i feel you are doing the exact same as the people you are complaining about with this thread, just ignore the people who pretend they are any better at the game because they are not. As you say all you are doing is the same thing as your opponent, to say that looking over a wall with a game mechanic is cheating is like saying playing a game on easy mode is cheating, clearly it is not otherwise it would not be a part of the game.

 

I do prefer first person but the lack of full servers is what forced me to play on third person, it does not entitle me to a high horse as i know a lot of other people who would play 1pp if there were enough full servers as well

He is not cheating, unless dean cheats at his own game. If i recall correctly he plays on 3pp. Guess we can put him in the same category as Frankie. Everyone's a cheat who does not play like you.

Nobody is saying they don't like 3pp people are saying the don't like people abusing the horribly implemented 3pp that the ARMA engine has .... because the ARMA engine was never meant for 3pp PvP games ...  it was put in so you could look at your characters / vehicles when playing Co-op.

So then what is the problem with the mod that removes the ability to cheat and doesn't touch any other aspect of 3pp? Because that is why this thread was started because people pointed out the fallacies of OP's arguments in that thread so OP created this one so he could continue lying about how he's "only using because everyone else does" .... but doesn't want it fixed.

And I've mentioned the reason I don't play 3pp is because people do cheat.  it goes both ways.  So I am forced to play on a 1pp until they can fix the wall peeking

Try actually reading my post  ;) I was talking about the 4th wall mod which is the entire reason OP made this post because as I just said people pointed out over and over that the argument of "I only use it because others do .... but I don't actually want it fixed .... because I'm not using it because other's do I'm really using it because I need the corner camping crutch to succeed." doesn't make any sense at all and makes you look like a scrub.

 

This game is (supposed to be) the opposite of a scrub friendly game  ... and as TLC says "We don't want no scrubs, a scrub is a guy who get's no lovin' from me"

Rocket made this game so that even people who've been PC gaming for over 20 years like himself would still get their asses kicked. AKA the exact opposite of 99% of the mainstream games that have come out in the past 10 years.

I reread it just for you, and it still sounds like crying because of people using intended mechanics. Don't play on 3rd person servers if you can't handle that someone could peek over a wall at you, mewling about having it 'fixed' is just petulant when you have the option to either use it as well or not play with people who use it. (not to mention you don't even have to engage someone that is holed up and would have the advantage using 3pp. Use your noggin son, lure them out into the open or don't fight them at all if you're that scared they'll 'wall peek like a scrub')

 

Screaming and stamping your feet and saying 'yer just scrub' is brilliant btw.

It is not a crutch it is a feature of the game, i think dean would be laughing his head off if he came on here and you told him he was using a crutch to play his own game, what a joke.

 

Also as i have said and you choose to ignore there are thousands of people who play on 3pp who prefer 1pp but can not play it due to the low population of hardcore servers. I bet it must feel so hardcore when there is barely anyone else on the map for you to play with.
