FishGuts4Lunch 66 Posted March 27, 2014 I know the drill involved in reporting all the servers that violate the Terms Of Service one comes across in the browser list, how to identify them and where to report them. That isn't the point of this post. On multiple occasions I have taken the time to scan the browser list for servers announcing "Join=Kick, Character delete, Members Only" and a large number of variations of forbidden practices. I looked up the host and sent them an email informing them the server in question was in breach of the the Dev.'s TOS. I added a link to the TOS so the host could verify the violation. I then added these severs to my favorites list and watched to see if my efforts resulted in the server changing it's name. In total 53% of the servers reported failed to amend their practices involving a name violating the TOS. One host specifically took no action what so ever (ch##pa.net) Not a single server from this provider changed it name in the 2 weeks following my complaint nor did they ever acknowledge any complaint sent to them by me. The address I use was correct and verified. In other words, just don't give a crap. I have yet to see a server disappear after a complaint. So if you take joy in the idea that your complaint is going to cost some little dipstick his server subscription, forget it. The chances of it happening are minuscule On the other hand several providers gave an immediate response to my email as well as a follow-up email and most of the servers reported to these hosts rectified the title it used within 2-3 days... Bravo! So is there really any point in reporting an abusing server if more than half the providers could care less if the Terms Of Service are violated or not? I believe it is. If each player took the time to send just a single report that will be millions of complaints in total and should make the providers take notice. Arbitrary or not the rules are clear and if you don't like them then your aren't being forced to host a server and are free to spend your money on cigarettes and booze instead. Still I can't help feeling that an email to the server in the end of the line. There must be more we can do to ensure the little shits keep to the rules. I'm also sure the Dev.'s have recourse to enforce more action against those in violation but the question is, can they be bothered to do so? I would love to see a list of severs who's right to host the game has been revoked. Name and shame are it were. Other thoughts?
taco86 156 Posted March 27, 2014 The whole report process needs to be streamlined and the dev's need to take more responsibility imo... Like you, I've been reporting as many violations as possible, however unlike you, I've not seen action taken against a single one of these reported servers... I think your 53% is actually a best case scenario, which is sadly saying allot about the incompetence of the current process.
BadAsh (DayZ) 1513 Posted March 27, 2014 There seem to be more than ever of these servers. So obviously the system doesn't work if a lot of people have reported servers. Even worse, many of the "clan" servers keep up the same practice as the "join=kick" servers. Often I have difficulty finding real public servers nowadays.
JiJi (DayZ) 223 Posted March 27, 2014 About TOS abuses :We've actually just hired a Support Lead."Hicks_206" - DayZ producer [ 19 March 2014 ] ...but so far no clue about this prestigious nominated nor how and when thing will take effect...How to contact and report him/her? (On-line form? Email adress? Pinned topic here? Native tribe smoke signals?). Yes I'm quite upset <_<

FishGuts4Lunch 66 Posted March 27, 2014 Which host is this?Smash, That was choopa.net. / Choopa.com... both link to the same host. I used the email abuse@choopa.net and .com as well without ever getting a single responce. These links are listed on their website. I very much doubt it is due to them never receiving the emails. Some forums are sensitive about naming names so I wasn't sure if using the actual server name was concidered out of line.
SmashT 10907 Posted March 27, 2014 They are not a DayZ GSP. Only these 5 providers are. Multiplay: support@multiplay.co.ukVilayer: abuse@vilayer.comFragnet: abuse@fragnet.netGamingDeluxe: admin@gamingdeluxe.co.ukGameservers: support@gameservers.com I'd hazard a guess that a GSP rents dedicated servers from them and that's how you have identified them but you need to contact the DayZ GSP not the dedicated hoster as they'd have no clue over the terms of agreements made with Bohemia nor could they do anything about it. If you can't work out who the DayZ GSP is, BCC them all into the same e-mail. If a GSP is not taking action, save your replies and forward to the BI Support email alias with -evidence- of misconduct, and it can be addressed at a higher level. A Support Lead has also just been hired and part of his responsibility will be dealing with stuff like this.

giza469@yahoo.com 2 Posted March 28, 2014 It is bad to spend most of the playing time watching a black screen with a count down of 5 mins because some retarded server owner kicked everybody just so he can gear him self !!! In the case they have names like it was said up its ok because you know you will be kicked of once you join but when they have normal names and you join that is where the "fun" begins!!! And that's bad for Bohemia that they let servers like this on the hive !!!
crazyandlazy 376 Posted March 28, 2014 I don't get it. You have thousands of servers for the standalone. I don't understand why you have to put that much time into reporting servers. People paid like 60 to 100 dollars for hosting. All you had to do was join another server me thinks.
dengwms 5 Posted March 28, 2014 The ToS is there to prevent creating unfair advantages, (private loot farms?). Bohemia created an avenue to report these abuses. Paying $60 - $100 does not purchase an exemption from the ToS.
FishGuts4Lunch 66 Posted March 29, 2014 Like I said before the rules are irrelevent. They are plainly stated and if you don't agree, take a hike! I'm sure that at some point as we move into the full version things will become more lienient. But at this point while testing we need the info withing confined restraints for development. Caboose187 (DayZ) 3036 Posted March 29, 2014 hahahahaha there really isnt any unfair advantage to a "private loot farm" since it only takes 30 mins tops to get geared up on a stable branch server, and it takes just as long on one of the "private loot farms" you are so butthurt about.Actually the "private" loot farms can just reset whenever and voila, 5 mins fully geared. Well maybe 10 mins.
Weedz 1105 Posted March 29, 2014 Keep up the good work! Keep this filth that ruined the mod out of this game.
-DMG-Jonesy 226 Posted March 29, 2014 Psshaw. People complained incessantly about my "pve" named server, but it never got taken down or stopped being popular. ( You should see the hateful youtube comments! :-) )Granted, I never tried to enforce that rule, and I clearly stated in the server message that I'd named it as such in the hopes of attracting the wild and elusive Bambi....to KoS. If it's not about that, why keep others off your server? Have you considered why they have rules and why they want the violators taken down? Like resorting to ad hominum insults like "butthurt"? It's that the depth of what you have to offer to this discussion by members who are asking legitimate questions and voicing concerns that the developers have asked for? If you check the ToS of this forum, trolling and insulting other members is a violation. You have a right to your opinion, but not a right to defame, ridicule and insult other members.
