guppy22143 1081 Posted March 20, 2014 Ouch the condescension... If only I completed school 4 years ago? If only I was almost 30 like a faggot posting on a DayZ videogame forum. Grow the fuck up stupid mad bitch.Alright, get out. You come off as a 16 year old who is just raging over someone else's opinion. By the way, this is the 21st century. I don't like your use of the word "Faggot" nor do I appreciate how you need to flame and condescend someone else's opinion on an intelligent discussion. Go back to 4chan.
ChiefMasterKush 321 Posted March 20, 2014 I was just trying to point him in the right direction so he could learn about the alpha issue he was having.just remember when you are sneaking to press "shift" so you are slow moving and make sure not to cross into the zeds LOS - I typically assume 180 degrees from the front side of the zed but I think their LOS is much smaller than this.IIRC, The zed LOS is based on their head, NOT body. So pay close attn to that.
Electi 149 Posted March 20, 2014 Now they have superduper ultra vision, they spot you from other quarter of the city just when you running(not fast), and then you just begin to chop whole city for 15 minutes just because they come one after another, and the main problem that's bleeding is now more common after their successful attack and you can not use bandage(you can, but you will get another bang) untill you kill them all, and they just run to you one after another, that's make chopping more prolonged...BTW do not shoot Z, because it will call even more, i shot once in town on the top of Cherno, and killed more then 20 Z in 4 minutes
Survivor_Ted 269 Posted March 20, 2014 After reading all of these replies I almost forgot what the topic was... On-topic: I never fire my weapon unless I absolutely have to, whether it be against living or undead. Sure, I can get a drop on someone who's obliviously standing with his back turned and I can easily get a clean headshot on him. But wait! Then the thinking kicks in! Is the guy friendly? For how long has he lived? Is he lying here in prone with a LRS mosin trying to help his friends? Are his friends friendly? How would I feel if I was him and got killed like this? In this situation I either get killed while making a decision, or I end up backing away from the player, who never even knew he was one squeeze of a finger away from getting his brains blown out. Basically, I'm too naive for this game, gets me killed because I'm too chicken pulling the trigger but still, at the end of the day I feel good about myself not becoming a deranged KOS'er and I'm glad to help people, even if it means making my supply of provision dangerously scarce and might cost me my life later, atleast I hopefully prolonged some other guy's life.

rybo 171 Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) I'll admit I straight up KOS'd someone for the first time for this very reason..I spent 30mins running trying to find some beans while dealing with hordes of 10m spawning Zeds that can walk through walls and floors. After just about ragging on the this utter cluster fudge I decided if I find someone I'd kill them for the beans and save myself 99% of the trouble. Well 1 minute later there he was. Now hes gone and I've got my Beans. Thanks BIS. One more step towards a FPS shooter.../facepalm Edited March 20, 2014 by RyBo
Karmaterror 982 Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) I think kos will always be there, but what im hoping is when theres enough zombies, looting a copse will be hard as hell. That way would it be worth....shooting the guy, ruining some of his stuff....then risking zed damage to your own gear trying to retrieve the "mystery box" that is the other players body. Might not really be worth the risk later on. But some guys will always KOS, no matter what lol :) Edited March 20, 2014 by Karmaterror

I was playing this before it went to stable, looking for some of that special gear that I just couldn't manage to find anywhere and that lil voice in my head said "you know someone near the coast has what you are looking for right?" I resisted then DB purge happened and I was wiped so my exp character is pretty fresh again - my stable character just looks for ammo and food mostly now days and that stuff is still everywhere that's not the coast. pacific_coast 632 Posted March 20, 2014 the zeds causing bleed every hit regardless of gear/ gear not getting damaged by zeds is not "threatening" it is annoying, now i have to carry extra bandages
Irish. 4886 Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) No, not really. If you shoot that player, his gear is ruined. Thus you have 0 protection from the elements, zombies, and other players. All of his food and ammunition, and possibly even his gun is unusable. If anything, this will lead players to band together is larger groups. It's an incentive to actually help each other to survive.Every player I have killed, over 20 now, I have successfully looted. Headshots = only headgear ruined, in my experience. :) ..I take that back, there was one encounter where I was outnumbered and did not loot the bodies. Irish. 4886 Posted March 20, 2014 People KOS for gear? Seems like a waste of time.5 mins work is a waste of time? 5 mins to be fully geared vs. hours.. ??? Ive done it.. I can attest its not a waste of time. My first kill got me fully geared.. I was alive at that time for about 10 mins total. From coast, to magnum, to fully geared in under 15mins. Anyhow, that is my experience with it.
jeffroland 26 Posted March 20, 2014 1) You start up DayZ.2) You pick a server.3) Fail to connect, wait 200+ seconds.4) Pick a new server.5) Finally connect.6) You spend an hour plus going from town to town for loot and find absolutely nothing.7) Zombies chasing you plus Items don't respawn, almost always end up losing loot rather than gaining.8) Leave server.9) Join new server.10) Fail to connect.11) Wait 200 seconds.12) No loot on new server either.13) Ragequit due to Devs going full retard. "You guys are fucking idiots" - My words, to devs, after such a situation. I'm not trying to be mean hear but you clearly haven't played long enough. I've only been playing standalone for the past month and I've got so much loot that I'm constantly ignoring quality items that any newly spawned player would love to have. Grant it, I typically play on low population servers to get said gear but I've seen plenty on high population servers too. That said, it's best to head inland to avoid humans and find items. The coastal cities are usually picked over. Also, the loot spawns are broken for many styles of buildings. Once you learn which ones actually have a chance of having loot then you'll be able to loot a town a lot quicker.

LaughingJack (DayZ) 767 Posted March 20, 2014 Really irish? A thread about promoting KoS as the way to get gear and you make fun about someone that gears up on low pop servers?^^ Apart from that: Well....so if anybody does that now all you will get are ruined shirts, jeans and flashlights....because sooner or later everybody died once and spawned at the coast and goes for KoS to get loot and....yeah...no on has loot, because nobody was looting ;)

shadowranger333 24 Posted March 20, 2014 It doesn't work like this anymore as Zombies have superhuman (or would that be undead?) sight and hearing. They often times spot me at the edge of my render distance.Iv'e been pretty successful sneaking past zombies, just stay out of their line of sight and don't get too close. If they chase you just run for a bit and lead them away.

I enjoy your attention, but stop with the hating on me Jack. Okay? Also, as stated before.. headshots = good lootable gear. Ive looted over 20 players I have killed, each time ruined head gear.. nothing else touched. Edited March 20, 2014 by lrish

solodude23 649 Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) Looting towns is still pretty easy. Just don't shoot and you're gold. Sure if you try to take em all on it'll be pretty hard..but..uh..don't do that. Also, zombies causing bleeding too easily was already changed in the experimental hotfix. Edited March 20, 2014 by solodude23
