kapnobatai 42 Posted March 31, 2014 don't forget to fix the 'deadly' ladder bugs in the next patch! climbing ladders used to work, it can't be rocket science and it's extremely annoying. a, and the prison glitch still there, found some wanker in a neaf prison yesterday. one so idiot that he tried to shoot through walls =)))
BlackDalia 95 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) well if we watch walking dead, i want them to be slow..Iam guessing most of the folks which are complaining about the "Infected" and want them to be slow, have not yet played the MOD from which this game came from and is based. THEY were always ment to be fast and aggressive. I will say it one more time. WATCH Dean Hall, HE is watching 28 days later to show the team what he wanted in the "infected". Then he did the fast running infected animations for the MOCAP. YOU can kill them without a head shot because they are "infected humans" not Dead shambling zombies...if you want the slow type of zombies in a sandbox survival, there is a few out there doing it. BUt you wont find romero or the walking dead style world with the dayz standalone or the dayz mod. Deadn has stated many times he uses the word "zombie" loosely but he has always wanted them more like the infected humans of 28 days later . YOu will either have to wait for someone to do that very well in a game, the walking dead style world which would be amazing if done right, or wait for some kind of mod to be made in a year or so of this game. Until then, try State of Decay or dead rising 3, they do slow zombies pretty damn well :) Edited March 31, 2014 by BlackDalia
PitstopHead (DayZ) 40 Posted March 31, 2014 Agreed. At current state the zombies are a pain in the ass. I liked them more when they didn't chase you like they do now. Also the time cycle is broken atm (no night, only daylight even on night only servers). Yeah but it is a zombie apocalypse and not BF4. They should have a mix of slow and fast!

joe_mcentire 2074 Posted March 31, 2014 can't be rocket science ;) i see what you did there
Somestupidusername 6 Posted March 31, 2014 Yeah but it is a zombie apocalypse and not BF4. They should have a mix of slow and fast! You are right and I was wrong. There should be fast zombies aswell. It would be too easy without them chasing you.
Klemens 2 Posted March 31, 2014 http://dayzdev.tumblr.com/post/79960438354/weekly-report-a-step-into-survivalYeah I do keep myself updated so I know about theese infos, but I'm saying that I miss the fact of hunt, especially since the DayZ team promised to put more focus on survival. lucianpin 80 Posted March 31, 2014 What I should of said was "I can't play, even after the update" I was playing before that "6" days, but even after the update I was not able to move at all in the game. So it was unplayable. Looking forward to a new update. I thought that when you say update you are referring to 0.42 update on march 19. This was unplayable. But Saturday march 22, the 0.43 was pushed and it is really working with minor problems (very rare teleportation and minor desync from time to time, but no session lost). It would have been funny if you would have stopped playing just Staturday during the second update to 0.43. :)
DropBearChick 1216 Posted March 31, 2014 Yeah the 0.43 fixed issues for me
afmenemy 1 Posted March 31, 2014 After the last update the game became even more laggy ? Even with ping 19 the game lags more than BF4 on high settings.Angry zombies is cool - but whats up with the 1 hit from zombie --> you are dead? The crash to desktop without any chance to get ingame again ( taskmanager) has also become more frequently like every 10 minuts. Until this is fixed im out. /A
smoq2 221 Posted March 31, 2014 Looks like swapping weapons has become an issue again. I thought they fixed it. Right now you cannot switch to a sidearm, because your character always takes it out and then immediately holsters it again. Sometimes he does that up to 5 times in a row. Was the case of my death yesterday :( I know that this is in alpha stage, but the level of regression is stunning.

Sounds like you're pressing the button more than once, occassionally my character doesn't swap weapons instantly but will do eventually. He'll only do the hokey-cokey with it if I've hammered the key though.

lucianpin 80 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) As far as I played 0.43 until now I found that best practice in cities with zombies is to always change weapons while moving. However, you have to keep your current weapon lowered, press W then press 1-9 key to select weapon while you keep W pressed. The animation is played while you still move avoiding zombies. I know that sometimes 1-9 key it doesn't work (bug), but then you have to release the W key for a second and press it again, then try again with 1-9 key. MetapoliC 263 Posted March 31, 2014 its been an awful long time since the last update… Have the dev's stumbled into a roadblock I am not aware of?Post a link would be helpful You have to look on the full list of the update again mate. It is quite big and you have to understand that every change may bring bugs with them, especially on this stage of development. That is why there is an experimental branch to test everything on bugs together with players. Let it all be properly configured (which takes a lot of time), next patch is already coming because the teams are working on other items, systems and so on, so there is always progress going on. Next time don`t buy the game, what the developers also told you, if you are not ok with waiting and playing with fatal bugs.

When I use the "change weapon while running" tactic the gun does not get holstered again. However, it is very impractical when you try to be sneaky or inside a small room. Or sneaky and inside a room with another player just about to open the door. :) An nope, I do not press the button more then once. One simple tap causes this. I even experimented with holding the button for a bit longer, trying to change weapon in lowered/raised stances, while crouching or proning or even while switching from a different item than a weapon (since other pickable items do not do this). The gun still gets randomly holstered. I do assume that once this "guaranteed client<>server" message system gets released then this will stop to happen, since the request for a weapon switch is probably sent more than once even though I press the button just one time. This tactic is good outdoor. It is good to change weapon while moving even if you are sure that there is no zombie near you. :) This is for build 0.43 :) Zombies are coming from nowhere with no sound, at high speed.
