Any date confirmed for vehicles being introduced?

Hi, I´ve playing DayZ SA for almost 2 months now and what is pissing me apart from bandits that instead of talking just shoot is that there isn´t any bicycle or similar like in the mod. Anyone knows something related to vehicles being introduce to the game?

The devs have said multiple times that it should be around 6 months or less if thing go good.

ETA unknown they will get it out either by beta or after. They have some structure and more important issues to work on animations, physics, cooking, hunting, improvised weapons, re spawning loot & so on. I honestly love walking around in DayZ but for all you lazy bones  :P I hope they do it as soon as possible.

I don't get why people are so gung ho about vehicles, does walking/running across the map bother people that much? I could see basic transportation like a bicycle later on in development but if you add in vehicles, now you're talking a whole new set of items to add to the loot table like gasoline and car parts. One thing at a time, let the dev team work on fixing the existing issues with the game.

I may be wrong, I usually am but I can only see a few reasons why some think vehicles are needed. Reason #1 drive bys, reason #2 to get back to your bullet riddled corpse before server restart or someone comes along to relieve you of your items but just let it be man, you can acquire more lewt even on a medium to high pop server and last but not least... bait car. I've seen too many people fall for this one when I was a server admin for the mod, quite hilarious actually.

Having "driveable" vehicles in the game doesn't mean you'll be driving them around.

At least it'll give something for players to strive for. In the original DayZ mod, vehicles were fairly rare, to the point where people started hosting their own servers with "100/500/max" vehicles set, so you'd have a chance to find something in literally every town.

OK so why have a working vehicle if you aren't going to drive it? Storage? Or is it a bait car? I hope the dev team is working on more pressing issues like zombies glitching through floors and walls or actually getting loot to respawn before they give us new means to troll others or give us more ways to store stuff.

No, there is no date.  4-6 months is the current estimate.  We probably won't have a fixed date either just a *WARNING NOT AN ACTUAL DATE!!!* 'Vehicles will be in next week's experimental build.' *WARNING: NOT AN ACTUAL DATE!!!* And we'll move on.  The Lazies will cream themselves, then promptly come to forums and bitch about not finding a spark plug or some such no mater how much they server hop.

the day vehicles hit the EXP the servers will explode.

 

vehicles are just a requirement because thats what people are used to in the mod and breakingpointa3.

 

so its just one of those things that is a hot topic and always complained about.

 

that being said, the whole revamped engine and server side reliance of SA is a difficult task.

So making vehicles completely server side,etc is a task and a half. But the pay off is performance and impossible to hack (hopefully)

 

there was nothing worse than see a fighter jet fly by in the mod LOL

Vehicles would be interesting. I know in ARMA 3- vehicles are pretty common and it makes a lengthy journey easier. I'm sure in Dayz the sound of a car would attract people like fly on merde, so it would make an interesting battle.

If I remember right if you hit something going at speed you would take a small amount of damage, but usually you would hit something you think you'd just drive over, glitch on it, wonder why you're not moving anymore then-HOLY SHIT WHY DID I BLOW UP!

DayZ Vehicles,

 

• Owning clan restarts server with plenty of members online
• Repairs all vehicles
• Drives all vehicles well outside of the map to prevent others using them
• Players spam the forum with 'why no vehucules' posts.

I hope they don't bring vehicles into this game.  It's just a quick fix "drug" for those who want to do stupid crap in a game with vehicles but then after the damage is done to the rest of the players (those having to put up with the nonsense) it'll only turn this game into another trash game.  If they want vehicles so bad...why aren't they still playing Mod and just stick with it?  Nope......not good enough, they want to come over to an alpha game and demand vehicles be put in it so they can play it for a few months and get bored with it and then move on again.
