OrLoK 16186 Posted March 3, 2014 Hullo there There's a saying "Too many cooks spoil the broth" Its similar to just throwing money at a project, business, and this is what it is, just doesnt work in that way. Theres all sorts of logistics and red tape involved. The true number of the dev team may vary but I doubt it will change drastically from where it is now. Rick1633 136 Posted March 4, 2014 I heard they have a team of 136 people working on DayZ currently.Where the fuck did you hear that? I thought there were only 30 full time dedicated Dayz developers. Remember all my posts about Star Citizen which is only a game for hard core U.S. gamers has Eighty dedicated developers but fantastically popular Dayz only has thirty.please post a link showing 136. I have never seen that information. I bet its 30 to 40.

Without a publisher and without the multicontinent popularity of Dayz, Star Citizen has 3 entire offices filled with 3 times the developers that wildly popular Dayz has. Guess which game will have near perfect controls and actually get completed and probably be one of the greatest games of all time? The one with a leader who wont walk out. The one with 3 times the amount of developers dedicated to mechanics, controls, graphics, physics...... Etc.

kichilron 8550 Posted March 4, 2014 I want to know the exact numbers, and will it continue to grow larger with skilled workers? Irish. 4886 Posted March 4, 2014 (edited) Pre-Alpha the Dayz dev team numbered at just over 15 people.. by the time the alpha was released it had increased slightly. But when the sales came in from the alpha on steam, that is when BIS added in another 12 members, and then recently a second team of non-BIS devs have been brought in to help with the things that those already on the Dayz project have lessor experience with, like animals and hunting. Dean stated that this latest addition would effectively double the dayz dev team during a live stream broadcast.. so if you do the numbers that would mean there is roughly 60+ people currently working on dayz, and perhaps more but not too likely. But remember half of those were just added, and only temporarily. I would bet that the team will actually decrease when Dean leaves, as at that point they will only need to have a small staff on hand to iron out the kinks down the road. I mean that's sort of the point of why Dean is leaving himself, he simply will not be needed any longer. The same applies for a lot of the art staff, testers, etc. Edited March 4, 2014 by lrish

Look up who is creating Star Citizen. He is a legend. He never heard of Dean. Guess which completed game will have near perfect controls and gameplay?
