antonioajc 500 Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) How is the discussion of console performance off topic for a thread about porting Dayz to consoles? The PS4 and Xbox can run Dayz perfectly well. Uhm, you just said it...Wait a second! *Sniff*I smell it, *sniff* now I smell it... Trolls... Edited February 26, 2014 by AntonioAJC
Deathlove 2286 Posted February 26, 2014 Sorry to say this but... http://www.gamespot.com/articles/xbox-division-s-new-boss-is-the-guy-who-reportedly-wanted-to-sell-it-off/1100-6417946/Know what? No I'm not sorry. What the hell was Microsoft thinking when they released an under performing console? That, after its launch, they lost a lot of money. That, and a lot of its investors wanted them to discontinue the console. I knew the Xbone would be BAD the minute it was revealed. I think the thread has gone off topic for too long.It works fine man i have no issue with the system. I could care less if it has TV as its main attraction. PhillyT 554 Posted February 26, 2014 Uhm, you just said it...Wait a second! *Sniff*I smell it, *sniff* now I smell it... Trolls... Are you trolling? I'm not. Part of the argument against the port seems to be the idea that it can't run on consoles, which isn't accurate. Someone popped in saying that consoles are netbook level, which is ridiculous. If it can run BF4 at 1080p and 40 fps, it can run Dayz.

strongtent 74 Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) I would go the PS4 route and make the touch-pad on the controller emulate the mouse for the extended features needed... that and I'm buying a PS4 eventually. :D Edited February 26, 2014 by Strongtent
Crooked Hauser 258 Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) Not hard knock up the display resolution when there's barely any improvement over previous generation graphics.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPAQa6ScbdcI've seen bigger jumps in graphical fidelity on the same console than the difference between Fonza 4 and 5.That wasn't the argument. The guy (you?) said when current-gen consoles could run games at 1080p/60fps that PCs would be god level or something. And honestly, like the guy said earlier about console gamers not spamming a forum if a graphic mesh glitches occasionally, they also don't tend to get their panties in a wad over AA or whatever. If it looks good, plays smoothly and is fun then that's cool. And if they can get more than 6 months out of the system before having to invest in a set of star-head screwdrivers than even better. Also, I game DayZ on a MacBook. Word up. Edited February 26, 2014 by Crooked Hauser

Irish. 4886 Posted February 26, 2014 Thats odd.. a while back Dean stated that he was in talks with Sony and that they were very supportive and he was excited at the possibility of dayz one day making it to console gamers.. Im inclined to think that now, MS is shopping for an exclusive of some sort.. after hearing how things seemingly have changed.
Deathlove 2286 Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) Lemme just put this here.. Actually i would like to counter that most pc players seem to be less of men and more of children at the moment it seems. At least so that seems to be the case with 80% of Dayz players. So telling some one to shut up because they enjoy consoles as much as PC or more is a bit immature if you ask me. Joking or not its fucking rude as hell. Edited February 26, 2014 by Deathlove

alldaypk 63 Posted February 26, 2014 That's just like saying port Arma 3 to consoles, YOU CAN'T, the console hardware is too weak, and there is a shitload of trouble. Starting with the controls being WAY too complex for a console controller. And please, I don't want little kiddies playing this game. You're worried about little kiddies playing, if you look at what Dean plans to add in the future it's likely it'll be rated R18+ in my country. You can have the game banned from here simply be having 'Morphine' in the game (which it does).

Its like Australia wants you to play nothing but pink unicorn and rainbow maker games. lol Of coarse even than they would probably find some way its inappropriate and violent lol. But honestly after the last ratings talk about australia i checked and we firmly have the r rating now which allows violence gore drugs you just have to be an adult to get it lol ... As for Dayz on a console well i am not against it directly as long as they dont dumb down the pc version to get it to fit on a console.. But i do have to say your being quite hopefull arent you they havent been able to find enough strength to get many zeds in yet add to that you got gaming rigs that are vastly more powerfull than the next gen consoles ( my rig is about 7 times the cpu and gpu power of a ps4 and i cant get a steady 60 fps it will drop to 35 whats it going to do on consoles??? they would have to reduce the whole game greatly to get it to run ... That has to be addressed big time if they really want to enforce that rule.

Michaelvoodoo25 3120 Posted February 26, 2014 Id support DayZ on console open heartedly. But let them sort the SA to a decently playable level first. Any talk of it now is just talk. Lets have a great game first. Then more illiterate schoolboys (and girls) can join the forums and give us something funny to ponder. Like when Warzzzzzz died.
