Open letter/suggestion/request to the DEVS: DO NOT implement nudity/scat/piss.

Yeah, I really do not see any reason to add nudity. Any claims of "immershun!!1" go out the window when you realize its just going to motivate even more people to run around elektro naked blasting dubstep. There's also a thousand things more important than bowel movements.

The reasons why people want cannibalism/nudity/scat and piss is only to use it as a means to be offensive towards others.

To be honest i don't think anyone cares if it's realistic or not,yet they claim that theese things are realisticly supported thus they should be implemented ingame.But we know that in this case all of that is bulls%#t.For example,they want to kill new spawns? They will play the "canibalism" card.Having a toothless kid screaming like an idiot in his mic,doing all kinds of fucked up things,and claiming the realism card for something that dosen't need to be part of the game is not apropriate from my point of view.Stuff like that in the game is not something a mature person would want.

if people want realism, there is a world to have it. there needs to be a point where that is over the line. example: Japanese in WWII threw babies in the and then bayoneted them. That is something is real, does it have a place in the game i guess so if you follow the idiotic illogical sense of "realism" these people feel is needed. What is next in this game (if this is truly added) animal cruelty? what else does this game need. To be honest in the forms of torture nothing. And actually if this implemented i might file a lawsuit against Bohemia Interactive because it is not state in their rating (their rating of the game is to low for things such as this).

Dayz is in alpha and does not have nor is required to have a rating at present.

 

I understand the objections to defecation, though part of me does wish to reject the objections out of hand. Honestly though, that's a fight that isn't worth having because being able to take a poop isn't actually going to add anything to the game. Getting naked might; with the addition of weather conditions and potential hypothermia, stripping out of soaking clothes might actually be worth doing. I wouldn't complain personally if they made us all Barbie and Ken dolls, but that's another debate.

 

The big one though is taking a leak: This is actually something that should be part of any good survival simulator, as (particularly if you are male) there are many, many uses for your urine. First and foremost, one can drink it when in the most dire of thirsts to prolong your life - and that's a very large part of what this game is about. Secondly, one can use it as you would any other liquid - to extinguish fires for example. Thirdly, urine contains amongst other things ammonia which is a very useful chemical and could easily see a viable place in the game as a clothing bleach and/or a cleaning agent - we did this for thousands of years, and whilst we tend to find our ammonia from other places now, where exactly are we supposed to find it in the apocalypse? Edit: Fourthly, one could fill their canteens with it, pass it to their friend and let them drink until their heart's content. Once they're fully hydrated, one may inform them that they've just drank several litres of your stored piss.

 

No, I think this is a bit of a knee jerk reaction. Let the developers censor the game the way they choose and let's not threaten to sue them again, eh?

I'm beginning to think that some people on this forum (assuming they're serious) are after "Real Life Simulator (with zombies): 2014" more than DayZ. Yes, it's realistic to have said features, but there are a billion other features which are realistic. Just to name a few;

• There are only 13 or so guns in the entire DayZ universe right now, and at least half of them hardly fit the setting
• Every single car in Chernarus is an unusable rusted-out junker while the rest of the scenery is essentially fine.
• There are no animals in the current DayZ universe, save for birds and insects.
• Players can carry many pounds of gear and run with the same stamina as if they had nothing, even though it's clear we're not all U.S. Army Rangers.
• Suppressors in-game have no effect
• Zombies in-universe have super powers and can run through walls and doors, but also are afraid to run through nonexistent invisible walls and lose sight of you when you enter a pine tree
• All of the game's optics aren't even zoomed in as far as their fucking in-game description states.
• People can play music through their microphones, but I'm quite sure the people in-game are real humans and not androids with built-in sound systems
• You can leave the in-game world and rejoin as you please (dis-including the server-hop timer)
• Your character never has to sleep
• The electrical grid has failed, but all of the game's light posts still work
• You can hear a random chain-link fence sound absolutely anywhere in the world, miles away from civilization
• Zombies do not react to environmental noises.
• Some zombies are able to detect you from hundreds of feet away, silently lying in the grass, while others cannot see you sprinting right in front of them
• A large majority of players shoot others on sight. (I'm not opposed to this at all, but in reality it may not happen this way)
• Interchanging parts on weapons (Including well-attached parts like stocks and handguards) can be done in seconds
• Doors magically open as if you say "open sesame" without actually interacting with their handle
• There are doors that are seemingly unblocked but cannot be opened

That's just a few of the unrealistic, or semi-realistic parts of the game. Do I think they all need to be fixed? No, 95% of them I couldn't care less about and the other 5% is more important than fucking excretion and nudity. My point is that there are many breaks from reality within the game, but the majority of the things I've listed people don't complain about because it's assumed something will be done or simply do not see the big deal in it, that's how I feel about this feature, it's not necessary and they have much better things to focus on.

Models for shit already exist. I personally don't have a problem with that, aslong as it doesn't involve nudity. It seems pointless though.

 

Add a poll to this. With full Rape dungoenZ, shitting/pissing and none at all. 

 

But everyone needs to remember: about %10 of the community usaully gets on the forums for games. There is no "Majority" unless you asked every player.

But really you took this from me? i know they wont add this don't worry x) Also have a look at my forum post of this topic most people don't mind to have it or really want it. Scating pissing thought that might take it to a higher level don't really wanna see that in the game so i agree with you there.

Not that it isn't realistic - it would just annoy me that there would be nude players everywhere, just for the lols and their "funny" youtube vids.

Signed... even though I don't many grudges agains nudity. (Maybe that should be a separate issue.) And as for "scat", I wouldn't much mind otherwise, but as I expect that it would lead to "bullying" and trolling its better left out. (But if you are, for example, violently sick, the effect could be implemented as a message "I have soiled my self", resulting in dirty, unhygienic clothing etc.)

First of all,just because Bear Grylls said that piss has versitalie uses on Discovery channel,that dosen't mean every survivor if thirsty,is going to try drink his own piss.Secondly,I wouldn't argue about the fact that you have extinguished lots and lots of fires using your urine...... :lol:

My opinion is that it would be pure stupidity,if those features were ever implemented.

It is sick and offers no real gameplay value.

I agree with this and OP, and other ideas like it.  I feel like having piss and shit kind of add an extra element to the game that'll just turn into trolling and be completely unnecessary.

I and all those that sign their support below, specifically request that you do NOT implement any feature that involves nudity, scat, or piss.

 

While realistic, we must at some point draw the line that borders between fun gameplay, and needles tedium. Furthermore, the addition of said features will allow for the possibility of in game behavior (which will almost certainly occur, and be uncontrollable) which is not only immature in the extreme, but disgusting and offensive. While it can be said that such acts would be no more or less offensive than murder, which is also part of the current system, I would argue that we are once again crossing a line into what is blatantly excessive and unnecessary. It is one thing to have a player shoot me in the head execution style. Death in entertainment media is nothing new. It is another entirely to have scat being thrown around or forced in my throat, or even simply being forced to endure a cheesy animation in which a player squats over me and "does his thing".

 

I come to this game, even during its earliest Alpha stage, to have fun and be entertained. I do not come here for tits and ass (or dicks), to watch my character pinch off a loaf in a bush, or to have other players be enabled to play out bizarre and disgusting sexual acts on me. We already have tea bagging in the gaming world. Lets not take it another step further.

Nudity isn't necessarily at all. It just makes the developers seem like 15 year olds. 

And ontop of that, it will turn the gane into an immature rapeing simulator with ,99% of the players running around as naked females with LMGs killing everyone who doesn't let them rape them.

 

If you don't see that, think about the coast rn: theres already tons of people stealing others pants.

 

Unfortunately, we are apparently able to change underwear in the future. Not sure what that will be like.

But i, and all my friends who play (7) will quit the game, along with many others, becuase we don't want trollfest 2014. It will ruin DayZ, for sure.

 

For all screaming "real!izm!!!!!!" Would people run around naked during a real life zombie apocalypse?

There are great reasons to add bodily waste into the game. Dont forget those. (search for em :) )

 

As to nudity, its not like it would be gratuitous with anime boobs and erections everywhere, damn look at the poor rust guy, he's hung like a squirrel. I truly cant see any issue with it. Someone running around in the nude is as silly as someone running around in their pants. Flesh coloured pixels dont worry me.

 

I know you dont want those with opposing thoughts in the thread but as its an open forum we are all allowed a say.
