The people who look down on bandits and KoS players = annoying?

Recommended Posts

"Let" like I have ultimate control over if someone sees me or not. For one thing I play on the Hardcore servers which means if I can see them, they at least have a chance to see me. So yes, it is a bit more difficult if you try not to KoS... at least on Hardcore.

Um no. Hardcore servers are harder for other players to spot you if you are somewhat decent. Everyone who had played harcore for a good 100+ hours know this. Basically harcore = easy mode. Not the other way around to which you had said. Plus the majority of hardcore servers are 30/30 players servers.

If you really want a challenge 3PP is the way. It takes less to no skills because people can spot you out so easily. You never know when you are going to get killed. There is higher risk.

You do not want to start this argument in your thread. It's going to derail very, very quickly once the right idiots see it and decide to start waving their flags again.

Been running a server for a few hundred hours. Killed 1 and incapacitated 1 so far one i revived after he was down. Caught me and a friend walking into the fire house at WAF no idea if he was friendly or not fire fight broke out and he incapacitated my friend and put 2 in me with the fx45 cut him in half with the m-16. Nearly bled out frantically digging through packs looking for non ruined bandages. Lesson learned I keep bandages in every article of clothing and some in a protector case as well.

2nd kill was at the air field near balota . A server hopper logged in as we were finishing clearing the barracks. I shut doors behind me and was crossing in the weeds near the fence line when i saw him run into one of the two stories. went prone just behind a natural berm in the grass and wasted him when he came out 2 quick bursts from the m-16 i doubt he even knew i was there. Felt kinda bad but he was pretty well geared and had a mosin and a pistol and if i had waited much longer he would have been right on top of me. I work a sniper spot near one of the military bases and take pot shots at server hoppers no kills from that but a few center mass hits and it's worth it just to ruin the gear of server hoppers.

Been playing about 120 hours honestly if you are in a hot area like a military base and have a weapon you are fair game I've been on the receiving end enough to know better than to start asking questions in those areas. You don't really have a lot of choice most of the time although iv'e had a few friendly encounters with  newly spawned players or ones without guns. Honestly if you travel as a pair with someone you know and do some simple things like shutting doors behind you and having one person over watch an area while you loot KOS becomes a lot less of a problem as you can avoid players or at least not be surprised by the hostile ones.

Just not nearly as civilized.

There are those who enjoy the freedom anarchy brings. These players have most likely never been able to make anything they wanted to last and dont mind taking what they want from those that are. You could say this player is the archetypical younger sibling you would love to "talk" some sense into if only your parents would let you.

There are also those who see anarchy as a threat to their way of life. They have no need to take from others as they are capable enough to provide for themselves and then some. These players benefit by re-establishing civilization and imposing their way on others (by force if necessary).

There is a risk that the productive players will encounter so many destructive players that they will retreat to their "rooms" and play in a more stable environment, leaving the sandbox to the kiddies.

Have.... you ever been to Japan? Have you ever read about what the Japanese did to all of their neighbors?

Have you heard about their underground? Their slave trading that still goes on? The incredible amount of racism in their society towards absolutely everyone?

Don't get me wrong, I have fun when I visit Japan, but.... yeah, a lot of people looking at things through some serious bias.

I mean what did you expect?

The game has cuffs, burlap sack, guns, and rotten fruits. Do you think the abundant amount of rotten fruit is there just for the setting? This game is about survival. Humans are dangerous too when resources are scarce.

I am not judging or criticising a certain playstyle. Play however you want I don't care.

I just find the group of "good" players that look down or moan or preach and ridicule badits/KoSers generally are annoying. They are having this sense of entitlement to follow their ways just cause there is perma death in this game. Do you agree?

I find anyone who expects everyone to be all friendly in a game like this and acts suprised when they run into people who think nothing of kos etc are incredibly niave.........I would say the very game itself the way its setup encourages this...I mean take perma death.......yes it makes it an assholeish thing to do to kill someone for no reason but then it also means you have a lot more to lose from being killed yourself....as such you get more untrusting and end up acting like its kill or be killed.

I know this is what I do....ive been playing a few weeks now and after losing my hard searched for gear numerous times I actully have had a pretty decent run this time around ,my character is fully kitted out, food, drink, axe, m4, pistol, lots of ammo, decent pack, decent vest/jacket etc and ill be damned if im going to risk losing all that from some asshole shooting me in the back after ive run on after letting them live.

as such....If I see you your dead....sorry its nothing personal but when you have no way of knowing whos a bandit and who isnt what are you meant to do? I mean how do I know the guy I let live isnt then deciding to stalk me till I make a mistake, I know thats what ive done in the past. Paranoid yes? but thats the beauty of this game haha

In the past ive been trusting and have paid for it....in my current run ive killed 3 people so far just for getting close to me, one was hostile but 2 didnt even have a weapon out. they may have been coming towards me out of friendlieness...did I feel guilty? a little but how do I know  that if I dont kill a guy when ive gone past him hes going to pull out a pistol and shoot me in the back(as has happened to me a couple of times already)

number 1 dayz motto.

DONT TRUST ANYONE!

I called for my thread to be closed last night, as the thread was about why I have a couple of issues playing in 1PP and this community was unable to handle it without resorting to name calling and chest pounding.

Please don't bring it up here.

Everyone on here drones on about how this is their experience and they'll play it how they sit fit, which is fine. So how is it acceptable when someone is forcing their play style on me with a KOS?

inb4 the moaners

Because that's how multilayer games with guns and PvP work.....

Dying isn't a playstyle. Your playstyle is PVE or role playing, and someone shooting you for no reason doesn't interrupt your "style". However, putting in a system that prevents PVP now forces them to play different.

The only way your "style" can be prevented is if you were banned from any server the moment you tried to role play.

You couldnt get past that first sentence, could you.

The Japanese trump the USA (and many others) when it comes to being civilized. The USA has its own underground, slave trade and racism.

Civilization in the USA is so thin that all you need to do to create a riot is turn of the lights.

Now back to anarchy. Oh snap.

well there is plenty to do besides Kos, thankfully as the SA continues to develop surviving alone will become virtually impossible, along with the ruined/damaged items being unusable Kosing will decrease. I dont really mind shooting at geared players but I do get "rolls eyes" at the people posting youtube vids/streams of their "epic banditry" only to find its them shooting freshspawns in spawn locations

I understand it must be shocking for you to see grown men play with dolls. Having 2 grown men play with each other makes much more sense, yes?

Were not moaning about them force feeding players or robbing them blind were moaning about them camping in a bush sniping players or running along the coast with an m4 just to kill freshies

From time to time a little bush sniping or freshie-killing? And afterwards a bit of the good-old fashioned bandit killing and forcefeedingrottenfruitstohelplesssurvivors? Why not? Its not against the rules and integral part of the game. I'd probably stop playing DayZ if i was in a minutelong hostage situation before every death...^^

I know. Your are right. I played both but I find that some people who play 1PP like to look down on people playing 3PP. It's stupid and childish. If 1PP players being the minority isn't enough, the boasters and the high horses actually makes 1PP players look very bad,

You honor your name.

""I find that some people who play 1PP like to look down on people playing 3PP. It's stupid and childish.""

Stating that unsupported makes it an opinion based on emotion. (crazy)

I find that players who play 3pp like to take advantage of certain features that increase their chances. Given that this games prime concept is authenticity / realism / immersion, im calling you lazy.

Your name is complete.

Honestly, I dont give a shit about what players think. Those freshies everyone bemoans about would slit your throat for your flashlight. I dont make it my mission to kill players I stand nothing to gain from, but I dont hesitate taking out a player who is closer than I'd prefer. Most of the time killing bambis is stupid anyway, because it alerts geared players to your presence anyway. I prefer to use bambis as bait for bigger fish.

this game was meant to be brutal, and it is to a emotional degree...Bandits are fine, KoS are just plain stupid...anything else I don't give a shit. Everyone can play how they want and that's fine...but remember to face the consequences of your playstyle :)

I did that once. I saw two geared guys from afar and killed one of them. The other that was alive went in hiding. I approached the area of the dead body and saw a new spawn. I immediately told him that I killed someone with an M4 and full ammo and that he should take the prize. He didn't hesistate when I pointed out where the dead body was. When he got there I heared shots. Found the other guy that was alive and killed him. He was camping his dead friend on top of the warehouse.
