I see Saiga is the most unpopular shotgun. Don't know why, because it's not an uncommon firearm, especially in countries (like Russia) where smoothbore guns are easier to obtain than rifles. I think some people hate on it because [a] it's semi-automatic and it looks "military".

 

 

 

 

 

Anyways I dislike the MTs-255, seen that suggested so many times on Reddit and I make sure to downvote it every time. The gun is expensive and uncommon. Outside of Russia proper, exponentially less likely to be seen. I also believe it's been discontinued except for pricey single orders. It's more expensive toy than practical weapon. I also don't see what it would add to the game. A shotgun that holds 5-rounds, I can think of many others that would fulfill that role more appropriately.

I would love to see this weapon, wouldn`t mind a G36, allthough there is no logical reason for it to be added. I is using standard NATO 5.56mm x 45 rounds. The HK 416 would be epic, it is a really good weapon, but I think there is no logical reason why it should be there.

Lobaev's rifle? Are you sure? It's very rare and VERY expensive (about $10000). 

MP-435 is also uncommon gun, even in Russia. MCM pistol would be more suitable choice.

Yes, but they are the ones that i have received the most communication on.  I put weapons on here that the community wants and for the devs to pick from.

I hope that the developers will follow a realistic ArmA-style. Without addition of unsuitable weapons. Although the suppressed Ruger is already causes suspicion...

I think the community has lost it's mind. The saiga is cheap, common, and available. Is it too "militaristic"? It looks like an evil black gun and not a civilian weapon, oh my! Guess what, aside from merely looking like some crazy weapon, it's still just semi-auto shotgun which is imported to the US as the ATF says it has sporting purpose. It's common anywhere free men can own guns, google it even in the Czech Republic. Your basic starter Remington 1100 costs more than one (what is to my knowledge the most common gas-operated shotgun). Sounds like the pinkos invaded the boards. I hope the Saiga gets added regardless because it just makes sense. Maybe the poll caster should have put in a version for the picture that wasn't tacticooled out?

 

 

 

 

This is a friggin' Saiga 12 as imported into the US and owned at other places. All that tacticool crap is done custom. It requires the trigger guard be moved forward and other hard mods.

People are able to search up the Saiga-12 for a better picture if they don't like the one i have posted.  Everyone knows how to use a search function... i just can't understand what the problem is right now with the Saiga..

We get it already, some people hate/like kosing, some people hate it when people combat log, and some people believe it should be changed, there is no need to create more junk threads to bog down the forum and push more important threads to different pages, ect.

May i ask why you made this post?  This has no use on being this forum.  I ask you to please stick to the topic that this forum is intended to be about.  Thank you for your opinions on other people's posts.

I just don't understand Dayz anymore.. their weapon choices are not making any sense lately.  They are a couple clicks away from seeing what the community actually wants.

The SKS, Mosin 9130, Sporter-22 (Ruger 10/22), IZH-43, CR-75 (CZ-75), 1911, as well as the upcoming AK-74M & Remington 870 all make sense. The M4A1 & Blaze, while not being common firearms, are not unreasonable either. The Python and Amphibia S (AWC Amphibian S, aka Ruger MK2) weren't the best choices, but the MK2 in of itself is not a bad choice.

 

The 1911 modern-ish look is really just the same thing that happens with many other games; the weapons appear where they should, but their specific variants are wrong. The MK2 was obviously intentional, but I find it pretty cool to have a pre-suppressed pistol in-game.

And honestly, if people are just mad that they haven't done an AK (even though the AK-74M is coming), or Tokarev, or whatever, lighten up. We'll obviously get those guns later, the alpha's weaponlist is probably going to pale in comparison to the beta & full one.

So to spell this out for you, as clearly you're not following me, if you post a picture of a tacticooled up shotgun, people will accept it as the norm. Hell, I saw a reddit dayz post the other day of people wondering what a cz-75 was for 4 pages. It wasn't even nonsensical joking answers either. The overwhelming consensus was that it was some kind of rifle. You need to be very careful here, because unlike the arma crowd, I fear, this isn't a firearm knowledgable user base. So tread lightly.

Actually that's just to deal with US import laws. The Saiga must be imported in "sporting" configuration due to the 1989 import ban. Or whatever. It's hazy, I'm lazy.

In non-US countries you can buy it "as is", with either style of stock.

 

It tells you right on the Izhmash website: "The "Saiga-12" shotgun is manufactured in four versions: "Saiga-12", "Saiga-12S", "Saiga-12K", "Saiga-12S ЕХР-01".
