DayZ Carrying Over into Real Life...

Recommended Posts

I've logged about 70 hours by now, and on multiple occasions throughout the day, I'll see something out in the world and have an instant DayZ knee-jerk reaction/inner monologue. Some examples are listed below. Real world action listed on the left, DayZ thought creeping into my head on the right. Feel free to add your own!

I walk into a room and see two doors side by side --> Looting opportunity! Walk up to each door and wait for the "open door" notification.

I see someone walking on the street with a wide, faded green backpack --> Ah, that one holds 30 slots.

See someone who recently got off of a bike wearing a motorcycle helmet -> Obviously a newb.

I was watching world news the other night about the riots in Kiev, not to mention but Kiev looks just like a Dayz city, but the rioters were burning the exact garbage bins that are in the game lol

You probably don't prepare your own food often. Tuna, soup, tomato sauce/paste, etc.... the list goes on and on.

Motorcycle helmet is not a newb item, only noobs think that. It makes you immune against knockouts from melee weapons and fists, except axe. Ive knocked out so many people who are fully geared because they dont use the helmets. As a pvper a green helmet is the best headwear currently in the game.

Ive played 292 hours of dayz, I do not think about it irl.

Nice, so you make a thread, and ask a question. I answer the question. And you try to insult me? Next time, try abit harder and actually argue with me and explain why you think my answer was not good enough for you.

I'm able to separate virtual gaming from my real life.

I guess that makes me boring

I can't separate video games from real life. I run around the city of San Francisco dressed in an orange raincoat, wearing army pants and carrying a Mosin with an unusable bayonet attached to the end, all the while looking for long range scopes and complaining about framerates. I want to be cool like the people here than can separate the two. How can I be cool like you?

No need to be punk. No one here said they can't separate reality from the game.
