You must be joking right? What we could consider as military weapon is just M4 and FXN pistol.

Mosin is old school and I doubt military uses magnum revolvers.

 

Shotgun is obviously civilian and SKS as well, since it did not remain in military service for long and was replaced by AK.

 

But maybe you ment rarity of military weapon...yes I agree they should not be very common, still we need more types of them (Warsaw pact ones).

You know what :D? I was thinking about WW2 weapons in DayZ just last night. I think the PPsH or Mp40 or other WW2 era weapons would be great actually. Also I think its time for explosives to be introduced. Maybe the player could craft some makeshift grenade or bomb or even a trip wire bomb.

I voted for the 74. In a modern soviet/former soviet state it just seems to make more sense to me. Though I don't actually have a clue if they still issue 47's anymore.

There's hardly any as it is besides the M4.

 

As long as there arent any ridiculous things like .50 cal rifles or machine guns or grenade launchers.. things that average people wouldn't have a clue how to use effectively anyway.

 

Maybe an M240 or something , it would make sense that something like that would be around. If this scenario played out the army would eventually be overrun by the infection and there would be deployed military weapons and vehicles all over the damn place.

 

I thought the amount of stuff in the mod was a bit much, but the SA seems a little more subdued.

 

Anyway, to the point, everyone so far was right - the AK-74 is much more likely to be encountered in this part of the world anyway and makes way more sense to exist instead of the m4 but meh, it's all good.

More clothing! more backpacks! I want the ability to bury and stash stuff for later use.

Would be nice to see different types of guns also. Not only Assault rifles and pistols, but SMG as well.

 

SMG:

 

- WW2 Thompson;

- Grease Gun;

- MP5.

 

Assault Rifle:

 

- AK47;

- FN SCAR;

- Steyr AUG.

 

Pistols (would be nice to get akimbo):

 

- Colt 1911;

- Beretta;

- Glock (whatever the model).

 

This list is not exhaustive, just my idea...

The '74 uses a different caliber of ammunition than the '47 and the AKM.

As for which one I would choose, I would take the AKM any day.

If they add an AK i hope they remove the M4 or we're moving towards regular ARMA gameplay. 

 

The M4 doesnt really fit in with Chernarus, and it sounds like a typewriter. As scary as a baby's laughter.

Maybe not remove it entirely, but make it pretty rare as other weapons are added to the game.

 

I'd like to see a large variety of weapons, so AK74 and AKM make sense. Having a bunch of military weapons is fine as long as there are a lot of civilian weapons too, and the military ones are much rarer. A lot of different ammo types would be great too, but I think some ammo should always spawn with a weapon or at least nearby. It makes sense that it would be stored near the weapon, right? And it allows ammo in general to be much rarer so that you have to ration what little you got with the gun.

 

Remember when having an AK74 in the mod was thought of as being pretty much geared? I'd like to return to those days. An assault rifle is a great practical weapon, large magazine and decent range so it fits a lot of situations. Shouldn't be too common.
