It's gonna be awesome to see what they do with zombies. It'd be kind of cool if they had a zombie type that was extremely hard. The one zombie you don't want to fuck with unless you're packin' pretty good gear.

A good idea for this would be to have some extremely fat zombies that can charge like bulls and take more bullets to bring down. Not quite like the Resident Evil 6 behemoth zombie but around that kind of thing.

Can't find loot?? Are you kidding me??  If you really want something and you are starving to death you take it from someone.  Melee weapons are still bountiful and the majority of players are so oblivious that you can easily sneak up on someone and whack em.  There, now you have loot.

I'm most upset about the berries news. Says they have higher nutritional value now, but there's still no mention of actual berries being put into the game! Rocket is berry-trolling us, people.

I honestly dont get why people are so down on server hoppers.  I mainly play solo, but when some mates come online ill hop to their server for a bit and then bounce around.  I dont have a specific server / community which im tied too, so I just come and go as I please.

 

Whilst I understand people being upset at hopping for loot, like other posters have said theres no respawn at the moment.  Im all for exploring the map, but if ive spent time and effort hiking to an airfield, wheres the real harm in popping to another server for a look?  Ive already done the miles to get where I am?

 

 Because you are taking away someone else's effort. They also have made that trek only to find it has been hopped by someone from another server.

 

 This is what people do not seem to get.

Well, there are a few ways to take this.. As a server hopper myself, I think it's going to make this game worse at the moment. As others have said, there are no loot respawns, so servers generally reset after 4 hours, meaning that unless you join the server at low pop after a reset, ur pretty much screwed on the loot. Don't tell me to go to other cities, because that's a huge waste of time and usually not worth the effort. So, that's a big negative... THe thing is, I know it's alpha and all, but server hopping isnt really a big issue. I personally enjoy hopping servers while there  are still no vehicles and loot respawns. The big issue is COMBAT LOGGING. Even Warz-Infestation survivor stories has a leg up on you when it comes to that. A simple countdown to logout prevents some douche from shooting at you and logging out within 3 seconds, or taking fire and logging out while running down an airstrip out in the open, or logging out when his friend next to him dies and then rejoining after a few seconds to get the jump on the guy looting his friends corpse. Server Hopping is nothing compared to that

To be honest, I think the biggest problem that I deal with is ghosting and combat logging. What are the server hoppers going to do to you? Most of them suck hairy midget dong at the game anyway.

Right. In the end I just want a challenging PvE aspect to DayZ. I want zombies to be a threat. I want to go into a zone and be worried that I can't do it because the zombie count. I should have to use most of my bullets on zombies, not players.

I think this is a good thing as long as they can tell when its loot hopping/ combat loging, and not connection or going to a friends server/ or going from a dark to day

And maybe all servers should be on a 1hr reset, to fix no loot, and yes the map is big, but if your a new spawn and the server has been up for 2hr and dont reset till it hits 4hr, than most of the new spawn citys will be looted out, imp

...and there are no zeds around because as it stands now, zeds are dependent on server restart as well.

Thats why I play on a 1hour-cycle server.

Or they could actually just work on trying to get loot re spawns set up.

I'm personally down with it... Combat loggers can't ghost now!!!

But they can still combat log  <_< They should have added a log out timer instead of penalizing players who are just looking around for a good server to play on. So combat logging still exists, but server hopping will be stopped. Loot will be much harder to find, so players will combat log CONSTANTLY to avoid losing their gear that took them half a day to gather. This is just bad.

Too many fanboys and white knights in these forums,

 

The loot spawns are broken, until they are fixed expect server hoping, simple as that!

 

I have no qualms about server hopping for loot especially with the now ridiculous tooling up time and the amount of bugs that claim your characters life atm, glitched through walls (happened to me twice when i had geared up fully fairly....in one day) character wipe for whatever reason, death from glitchers or the like etc etc, you CANNOT expect us to not server hop at the minute, roar alpha at me all you want it dosent change the fact that we cant play the game properly because of these bugs, server hopping makes it bearable at present.

Have you considered that server hopping effects the amount of items you find? Guy logs into balota on 50 servers, well now those servers are not going to have any loot until the reset. By preventing hopping they can keep the concentration of loot higher and more persistent on the server. They shouldn't mess with the loot until they know what kind of effect these changes will have on looting. Besides, it's not even that hard to find gear in this game. I don't see why people complain so much.

Server hoppers dont take all the loot, lol. It takes 1 or two to find the main things we need, the rest we just pickup extra junk for our bags and food. I still leave a whole lot of loot out there, good loot too. Combat logging is the game killer

No choice? I've never server hopped and I've never had problems finding loot. I only ever play on high population servers.

 

But then again, I don't get discouraged when I visit one military base and don't find an M4. It just gives me more reason to keep pushing on to the next military base.

This! Even as PvP whore I'm getting sick of it(40/40 server and I rarely meet someone).

I want better, harder, faster or/and different zombies(animals). They arent worth a bullet at the moment

Don't get me wrong, I do support this in every way. It needed to happen and server hoppers need to be dealt with. But shouldn't item re spawns be added before this gets implemented? The majority of people server hop because there's no loot re spawns. I personally never server hopped in the mod but in the standalone it's a different story. There's times where you have no choice.

So, on that basis then any people who have a life, education, job, family or other commitment are penalised by someone who has hours to claim that servers loot for their own.

Server hopping just isn't an issue for me
