Clothes That Say: I'm The Good Guy.

Recommended Posts

This has been "suggested" and talked about in the forums but I haven't seen any real topics about this so far. Anyways... I think it would be great if the community could make up a certain dress code for people who want to help people. Now we berets and all these different clothes so there could be a way to dress up and people would see you without taking you as a threat.

When ever I have "end game gear" I take everyone with a gun as a threat, but if there was a guy with the certain clothing I could go and talk to him, and if I'm a new spawn I always avoid people who have gas masks and M4's. But if I saw a guy wearing let's say a blue beret and a respirator maybe? I would know that he just wants to help me, I could go to him and ask for supplies.

Sorry this text is pretty chaotic because I wrote it at the same time I was thinking these things. Ideas?

Sure! Great idea if you want to suddenly see ALL bandits dressed as "friendly" players.

Sort of silly idea...

If an specific outfit was deemed to be "hero" what would stop bandits from using them to lure victims.

The only way something like that would work is if you could ensure the clothing would be sooo restrictive to a bandit they couldn't use them.  Even that has issues cause would mean Heroes would then be easy pickings as well.   Then they would have to have body guards, which then puts you back in the same boat as before not knowing who to trust.

Would be better off coming up with a universal and mutually destructive way to disarm and interact.  Which also is nearly impossible...  When you have 2 guys pointing weapons at each other someone has to make the first move in anything... that person is always vulnerable and will always be (well accept if that first move is firing).

There's no definite answer, but for some reason I distrust less the woodsman shirt wearers than the full military parade gangsters. Doesn't mean a thing, just a silly unconscious feeling.

Orange raincoats are kind of creepy. Yellow ones, usually means the guy wants to be seen.

The new canvas clothes are just hipster.

The last time I intentionally dressed to look friendly, I was a female character and had pink/purple everything.

I was looking for players to give some gear to and was moping up zombies in cherno. While dispatching a few zeds on the street out of nowhere I was shot and killed. It was the most unnecessary kos I've been the victim of.

I'll tell you what not to wear....Payday Masks!!!

I KOS mask wearers, simply because except the one guy wearing a mask, who was ONLY trying to rob me blind, everyone wearing a mask has combat logged/attempted to ghost kill me.

I know wearing a mask doesn't mean you're going to do that, but I now see it as an immediate sign of hostility.

Blue, lots of blue. Beret and press vest would be cool.

Obviously it would be abused by bandits, but anything bar a proper humanity system going to be. The trade off being they are trading their nice camouflage for high contrast blue.

like guys saying before is not so much what you need to wear to say 'I am good guy'

is what you DONT WEAR what send loud clear message ;)

don't wear nothing on the face no payday mas/burlap sack or even motorcycle helmet and NO SUN GLASSES

human psychology is design to don't trust what is not possible for seeing especially human face and the eyes ;)

DEFINITE 100% NO MASKS if you trying to send message of honesty and trust worthy

also is not what you wearing as important as body language

don't aim gun

don't come too close in personal space

have open stance is saying 'don't fear nothing I am no threat for you'  :)

ALSO ATTITUDE IS BIG PART

be relax and calm

this making other guys relax and feeling calm

don't be nrvous don't show fear and most time guys you meet react to you like mirror ;)

And the bandits would start using that skin to KOS players instantly.

Wouldn't work.  It's not humanity based.  Anyone can wear it.

If you want to see what would fix it, see my signature below.

Red Berets and Big old Red back packs with Red Check shirts. If that doesn't scream Medic Don't Shoot I don't know what does. Hell you could even run around with your med kit in your hands.

Done...

Anything else and your gonna find a bandit attached to it...

I might be friendly, but that outfit is a crime against humanity and I will KOS on sight.

Seriously, lose those clown pants.
