Only twice. Once in a normal server, he killed me in one server then followed me to the next and killed me there within 3mins. The second time was waaay back, when people used .pbo hacks and shot through buildings like Supernatural ghosts. Hasn't happened since I started playing HC only...strange coincidence huh?

Edit: Skulking around the northern woods is a legit survival mechanic. Even more so when hunting is introduced :P

I have not died to anyone that I can confirm is cheating. However I do remember Rocket saying that many hacks would be impossible in the SA, so it is kinda disappointing to hear that this is apparently not the case.

Yeah, apparently these shit heads can TP wherever they want. They're idiots. Had one ruin an amazing firefight my clan was having the other day. And of course, it's some kid who can't aim worth a shit. I made it out alive but he completely ruined any immersion I had going.

 

Won't be too long before we all get slung into the air by a hacker. Or nuked.

Has anyone encountered a hack where a player spawns on top of a building? On experimental servers? SE-04?

 

I was in Svetlo earlier, inside one of the three-story buildings, and started taking fire. Thought it was from afar, so I went down a flight of stairs and then ducked into a corner. Was pretty sure I was in cover, but got shot anyway and died. Chocked it up to maybe the player was on top of one of the roofs in Svetlo (because one can get there via scaffolding).

 

However...

 

I respawned in Berezino, and looted for a while. Then was making my way out, started taking fire again. Turned around to see where it was coming from, and there was a dude on top of a house... all alone... in the middle of a field shooting at me. He was no more than 50m away, so I could see him pretty well. Ducked behind a fence, guy lit the fence up, I died.

 

Are people able to get onto rooftops of random buildings now or am I missing something?

So, we were a 10 man squad tonight.  Easily taken out within' 5 minutes by one person, shooting thru walls and shooting at us when they had no vision.

 

Basically, they just ran around with automatic fire, taking us out multiples at a time.

 

Anyways, really kind of lame when you spend time gearing up and want to have fun with your squad, and then you run into a lame cheater who takes out 10 people with no problem at all, shooting thru everything like it is paper and seeing every single person in the area.

 

Hopefully, part of the dev team will put a priority on these hackers, and wall glitching, etc... etc...

 

Really really ruins the game...

Nope.  You will only hear " its alpha". Or " every game had the same amount of cheating".  Which I think is a hug lie.  I dont get why its so popular to risk steam accounts for an alpha game.  Unless, you can cheat without bans.

I'm already over this game i think. Game is already half being run by hackers who have unlimited ammo and get any gun they want and just cause havoc by killing everyone and running the servers...

and no this is not simple bitching about someone being better, its about finding ammo boxes filled to the brim with stacks of ammo way past 60 and killing a hacker by chance and finding ungodly amounts of mods and ammo with absolutely no food or survival items on them....

I just ran into one aswell, and yesterday too. But I witnessed them teleport and shoot with no recoil and infinite ammo. This time I could infer his steamname but I don't know where to report to. I doubt steam will do anything.

Well my team just got hacked a while ago, guy had god mode, shooting through walls with an infinite M4 and prefiring right through the door of police station, then hid all the bodies.  This is really turning out like WarZ back in the day when the hacking got worse...I just don't see the point of hacking...but hey it's not like anybody cares anymore.

At this stage in the development you'd want to have hackers, so the devs can start plugging those holes and banning these people, so that when the game goes beta or gets released there are few to no hacks out there.

 

Still it's not fun though.

 

The current security measure also bans with a delay similar to VAC, so people who use hacks don't get removed instantly but will see their access to the game blocked after a few weeks.

Better find a decent server that is being admin'd so that people like this don't pop up too much.

 

I don't understand "hackers" either, if it's just to find the exploits that's okay but actually using them? Whenever I used cheats in single player games I got bored of the game a couple hours later there's just no challenge to it. Heck you're not even playing anymore just pressing buttons...

I have 500+ hours on this game and if you go the high pops, you're almost garuanteed to run into some.  

 

Not sure if anyone cares, but look out for some dude named sniper_007, he's a hacker/script kid I ran into.

Yep got hacked today

I happen to look over my shoulder and see a guy warping towards me at high speed (was well concealed behind a rock, he couldn't see me from that side)

He asks if I'm friendly and then vanishes when I say yes

I look around as I was previously watching a guy on a roof to work out if he's a bandit, I do a look around to see there's no one around and no place for them to hide

1 pistol shot and I'm dead

On respawn a guy appears behind me while I'm running and starts playing music

I then see a bandit put 10 rounds from a magnum in him and he doesn't even bleed

I get shot a respawn at the north east town by NEAF

And I hear "are you friendly?" In the same voice just in time to see a man fall down dead and the same guy I saw earlier dissapear without logging out

This is the 4th hacker this week I've seen

I havn't run into any even with larger populations but then again Id imagine that most of the scripters are just massacring groups of people on the coastal cities and military bases. They join in and ruin the Electro deathmatches and high traffic areas. Only advice for high pop servers is to get of the coast to avoid these players. Most are not very good at the game so they wont even be able to navigate the map correctly or will get lost.

they aren't teleporting yet but they are kosing everyone and doing nothing but griefing.

Well, most games based on a true MMO architecture, like rocket promised that would be native on the game, dont have hackers at all, not with the power that we see on dayz.

 

We dont need to get over it, we need a new decent engine.
