Is kicking players instantly from servers allowed?

Recommended Posts

...the way it is with pay to win...

1.pay/rent a server

2.name server "join = kick,bann char reset"

3.LOOT

4.join other server

5.kill, bash ...or what ever

6.on forum spam fret about serverhopper

7.on forum spam "search a clan"

8.on forum spam like frosti ;)

this ..how to.. works everytime

the problem is no longer serverhopper...but the "privateserver" with publichive

I have a growing crew and we like to play together. our server is not one of those that stays full all the time, but it does get population spikes throught the afternoon and evening. Were my server to be full, and I had two crew members wanting to get in, you are damn right I am going to kick a pub to make room for my teammates.

No one's holding a gun to your head and making you host a server.

Wait for private hives and you'll have all the control you want.

And no one is forcing you to join a clan-hosted server either. Join one, and expect that the clan members will take precedence over your pubbing self- you didnt pay for the server nor contribute anything to it, why do you deserve special treatment?

Wait for your own private hive and then you wont have to worry about being kicked by an "abusive admin" who is not specifically violating the TOS by kicking a random player to make room for a teammate.

..there is no reason to kick anyone really ..simply stop your server and all the moochers will move along... then you start it up again

This. This is exactly how I dealt with dupers. Restart it, and they will rejoin...but if you shut it down for a few minutes, they will have already found the next server to thrash and desync, at which point yours will be good to go.

And if I get kicked from your server because you wanted a team-mate to join in, you can be sure it will be recorded and reported to your server host.

Too bad, you're renting a public server, you know the server being connected to the public hive.

When they allow private hives, you can knock yourself out, until that treating your public server as a private server, is a violation of the rules and if you get enough warnings, your server can be taken down without refunds.

It is not special treatment, it is equal treatment. This is not Counter Strike or another FPS where you can run a private server and kick my pubbing self. EVERYONE, including you and your clanmates, are using the PUBLIC hive. Everyone has the right to be on the server unless they break the current rules of verbal abuse or exploiting/hacking. Everyone can join any server and expect to be treated the same as every other player.

If you get caught kicking players for clanmates expect to be reported.

Well as far as I can see, the only ones complaining about this. Are the ones who are not paying almost 100 mo. for a server!!

making room for members, is a grey area.. but wholy understandable..

on topic, from the rules thingy, i quote..

  • You can NOT kick players on joining, to loot farm or to prevent other players joining

having a 40 slot server, with 4 players who are members, kicking everyone else.. not so.. stuff picked up here should not be counted on public hive, since you take zero risk picking up stuff, wich is an unfair advantage..

hence this rule i guess...

  • You can kick if players are being verbally abusive or abusing ingame bugs to gain an ingame advantage.

kicking glitchers, racists etc.. sure, im all for that... some of these need a rl kick in the crotch area

being in a clan that hosts 5 gameservers in another game, we dont kick people that threaten our kill/dead ratio/score / e-peen...

we do kick racists / glitchers..

if a server is nearly full, i really do not mind getting a kick, so their members can join.. hell if they c/would ask me in chat, i would gladly make space by leaving myself..

if i get kicked on a server that has 4/40 users, i know im getting kicked because some lamer wants easy farming... that i will report, have reported, and have had servers go down because i reported.

It is not special treatment, it is equal treatment.

Just because you rent a server doesn't mean you have priority over me - this game isn't about you

Just because I don't rent a server doesn't mean I have priority over you - this game isn't about me

The game is about us as a community, server slots are first come first serve.

If you're a good admin who is paying out of pocket for your server and its full of pubs I can sympathize with you wanting to kick someone to make room for your friends. That doesn't mean it is right. I suggest holding up the next person you find and giving them an option - log out with your health, gear and map position, or die right where you stand. That way you can free up room in a fair way without going to war over the forums about murky rules.

If you're a bad admin in games of 4/40 who instakicks so you can loot farm in total peace I can't wait your servers shutdown. There's no reason you can't play with your friends/clan/squad on normal games anyway, it just requires more tactics and patience but it so much more rewarding in its own right.

Thats odd, I got this message from Vilayer over their thoughts on it.

<< Hello Steak,

We would like to remind everyone that locking your server is not currently allowed.  This may change in the future but currently all DayZ Standalone servers must remained unlocked at all times.

We understand in can be frustrating when your server keeps filling up as you and your friends try to join.  However, a locked server allows the nature of the central hive system to be abused.  To ensure a fair gameplay experience for everyone, all servers must remained unlocked at all times.

We are currently operating on a 3 strike system.  The first 2 times a server is found to be locked we will temperately disable it and open a ticket.  You will need to respond to the ticket to have your server enabled again. If a server is found to be locked a 3rd time it will be permanently disabled.

We appreciate everyone's understanding.

Best Regards,

Vilayer LTD >>

Hi Steak and Potatoes

That IS odd, I got this message from the Steam DayZ Server List:

dpjn9h.jpg

And I got this message from the forum: << If you encounter an abusive admin or server do not post it here. We cannot do anything with these reports>>. I understand.

But I'm NOT reporting a server. I want to make that clear.

If they give me a Sheriff's Badge and pay me, I will police these Admins for Bohemia Interactive. But that's not my job at the moment.

This image only shows PRIVATE servers on the public hive - they kick players. I haven't added a screenshot of the JOIN=KICK servers (- they kick players too)  there is about the same number again, some have both PRIVATE and KICK in the Server title..

I like the "You not pay - you not play" server myself.. don't you like that?  They say what they are right up front..

So this is the way DayZ is going ??

My HUD does not say:  INCOMING -> 30,000,000 dollars

My HUD just says:         INCOMING -> You are on your own, Player

Reported and taken down. Umm seems like a good business plan.

What's the point of owning a server if you can't allow for space for your clan mates/friends, if your server is full.

Seems like you do more trolling than thinking of the real issue here Byrgesen.

Its a puclic server, you are renting it and you have to follow the rules...
How is that trolling lol?

So basicly if you dont like the rules, dont host a server yet, wait for private servers, its rreally taht simple.
Even DemonGroover put it, as i put it ealier, its not hard to understand :)

I dont understand why there is any confusion.

If you are an admin you cannot keep a PvE server or keep the server private, for yourself, friends, clan or hot girl from down the road.

It ain't hard.  They are Public!

To the game developers :

It's about time you do something, kicking / locked servers are now out of control

Day_Z_16_02_2014_19_48_20_493.jpg

Small fraction of the list and yet more than half of it is breaking rules.

People are reporting servers and it does not solve anything.

This problem is getting bigger and bigger each week and it can no longer be left on players shoulders.

So start doing something about it.

Because this person agreed not to do that, simple as that. You do realize why do they do that ?

So that they can gear up and go killing on open servers.

Do you have proof of that at all?  Or is it supposition?  Maybe they just want to be sure to keep douche bag KOS griefers out of the mix.

i think it is mostly server looters/hoppers that are kicked (and 250+ ping players) nbecause they are abusing a glitch allowing them to loot servers to gain an unfair advantage over other players.

i recognize a few handles here connecting to my servers for a few minutes only to loot. funny how you seem to whine a lot ..just an observaition...

That might the case too. But they agreed to server hosting rules and should respect them. This an alpha where thing are being tested and I suppose this interferes with that.

Well as far as I can see, the only ones complaining about this. Are the ones who are not paying almost 100 mo. for a server!!

Point is this, friends

You are NOT paying Bohemia Interactive for server space - you are paying a Server Provider for server space.

OK, you paid for it you can do what you like, you can run porno or you can play Pokemon.. completely YOUR choice.. that's between you and the people you hire from

What you CANT do is play Pokemon connected to the DayZ Public Hive...

YOU aren't paying for the Public Hive any more than anyone else.. Bohemia Interactive run that, it's part of the DayZ game.

So you can't connect to the Public Hive unless you run the straight DayZ Game with all its software and its rules and regulations, the whole packet designed by BI.

If you think you bought the Public Hive you are mistaken.

OK you have server space - I got server space, thousands of people got server space, Microsoft has server space, all god's chillun got server space,

Al Qaeda probably got server space WTF.. Do what you LIKE with your server space you PAID for it.

But don't connect to the public hive, dude. If you connect to the public hive you're a public game, dude.

Pretty soon I guess Bohemia will arrange the shards and open up the game for mods and private servers, maybe groups of private servers sharing a private hive. Interesting stuff. .. One reserved slot on would be nice, I agree.

At the moment we are not there. Public Hive=Public Server  .. you and I didn't pay Bohemia anything for our server space and you and I have NO right to run the DayZ Game "how I like" it's not 'my' game, it's not 'your' game, it belongs to BI.

But sure - play Pirated Online Pokemon if you want, it's your server, spread the Word of the Lord or do Assassins Creed or sell Specialized Underwear Garments (I'd go for Pokemon, myself)

But you cant connect to the Public Hive if you do any of that c[er - cool stuff.] OK?  Easy to understand.

Wait for Private Hives to show up, Play the Game, Report bugs and cheats because you're in a good place to do that,Don't KOS the Community. Stop messing with all these kids who want to PLAY, they want to KOS, they want to eat goats, kill Zombies, wear cool gear, drink disinfectant because that's the Game, bro. Public Hive.

DayZ is not a Pay to Play game,  If Bohemia wanted to be BAD (like plenty of others) they could say "Private server, no problem, you just pay us to use the Public Hive, and you can be as private as you like". So be happy with what you paid for. Don't sneer at the players. Earn some respect. You're an Admin, play right. If you don't like people on your server hunt them down and shoot them, don't kick.

the problem so far has been that you looters disconnect within minutes ..just about the time you need to run through, perhaps a military base... you are simply abusing a kind of glitch/exploit to gain an unfair advantage over other players and for that, i think you deserve to be kicked.

Except you are getting kicked the same second you join the server, so they have no way of knowing if you are a server hopper or a normal player.

Also making a private server for you and your mates to loot safely is even more of an advantage that server hopping. Server hoppers risk getting killed.

Because rules or not, the rules say I can. I bought the game, so in some sense I contributed to the Hive, which all servers are connected to.

how silly. of course there is a way to know. after a while you learn the few handles or the particular way certain players uses there pubertal (or at least shockingly immature) imagination, coming up with variations on "dick", "ass", "pussy", "bitch", "homo", "nigger" and so on. very simple...

Now that's just stupid, most people don't use names like that and they are getting kicked as well. The point here those servers kick everyone indiscriminately that is outside of the guest list. I'm starting to wonder are you one those people who try to establish private servers against the rules ? Because you sure defend them a lot.

And I'm not against private servers. but there must be reason why devs said - no private servers for now.
