As shown on the screen shot above the main sequence star of the planet system where dayZ is taking place is blue. Blue light is given of by O type stars http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O-type_star.The O type stars are very rare and most main sequence O type stars are located more than a 1000 light years from us. Colour is a wavelength of an electromagnetic spectrum which will be affected by atmosphere but not enough to make G type star look like O type star. Our sun being a G type star is indeed white, but the O type stars do in fact give off blue light. And the sun on the screen does have blueish hue. And it's much brighter than our sun, which is also consistent with O type stars. If there is no atmosphere there can't be any complex life.
