Can I Run DayZ Retail (POST HERE)

Recommended Posts

Well basicly i have recently brought a gtx 650 and tryed to play DayZ but i experienced quiet alot of lag cause i know that the gpu is pretty bad and my cpu which is a a8-apu 6600k is also pretty bad but i am returning the gtx 650 and getting a gtx 670 which is alot better according to the benchmarks will i be able to play it better with that gpu insted as i know my cpu will still be pretty bad but maybe the gtx 670 can carry me into good fps? what do you think and around what fps would i get in cities aswell as counties.

BTW: Soon enough for my birthday i will also get a AMD FX 8350 Six Core so i know that i will run DayZ very well with that setup but how will i do with this current one?

@ PoisonTV = better but it is the CPU that makes the difference.

***************************

@ CurlyWurly1080 = you should be ok but that is a strange choice of CPU, you should take a look here and read the Stickies...

*************************************

@ Cptroger99 = you should be ok, please read through some of the guides available (best settings for Dayz + google).

SSD - Yes but game is installed on HDD

Move it onto the SSD for better performance (all BI titles benefit).

The rest is good to go.

Just thought I'd mention that the game runs even with less than the minimum. I have to turn everything down to lowest possible settings, but it's working with 1.8ghz Intel dual core, 2gb RAM (total; about 1.3gb available) and a Radeon HD 4670 (only thing that's slightly over the minimum).

I mean... I wouldn't recommend it... but it works.

Hello. I really would like to know what my chances are in playing DayZ on my laptop, since it isn't meant for gaming purposes. But so far it has done the job for most games I've played.

I also posted my specs in the thread that was created for it but after many days of patient waiting I decided to start this thread.

My specs are: Laptop Sony VAIO T series (SVT13125CLS)

Monitor resolution: 1366x768
CPU: Intel Core i5-3317U @ 1.70GHz
Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics 4000
RAM: 4GB
Hard disk drive, no SSD
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro
System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

So, basically a simple yes/no answer will suffice. And if yes, then when would I be able to play? (I'm guessing not in the near future)

Cheers  :)

Run - yes.

Playable - probably not.

Of course, everyone has their own idea about what is playable and I am sure that several folks will chime in and say that they've played on less capable hardware, but the bottom line is that this game's performance is disappointing on purpose-built gaming machines. Personally, I would recommend that you wait until some optimizations are implemented.

Hey guys! How well could this run DayZ? c:

What settings will I have to play on?
What frames should I expect?
I know DayZ is poorly optimized so there is no point explaining that! ;) Haha c:

If you can make any improvements to the build that could be cheaper or a little bit more than feel free to! :D I'm Australian so check the prices if you wan't to make changes!

Thanks! <3
