For sure. I can run it on my $400 laptop on medium settings and get a steady 50 fps.

Specs:

CPU: intel CORE i3 4010U 1.7ghz (dual core)

GPU: intel HD 4400

RAM: 6 GB

Monitor: 1366x768

If I can run it on my schoolwork laptop you can run it on a gaming desktop, you'll be fine.

Topic cleaned, the question is Can I Run DayZ Retail ?

Answer those that ask with a simple yes/no and add comments such as "only on low settings" "just about"

STAY ON TOPIC.

Let's try again then shall we?

Below I will repost my specs. Before I bought the game I came here to asked if my craptop could play the game and the response was NO. A friend suggested I goto game-debate and check with that site. Game-debate said my craptop would just barely run the game. I have found both to be very wrong. I really wanted to play this game so I risked the $30. Initially yes, the game barely chugged along with everything either disabled or set to very low. But once I set my hardware to "performance" rather than "quality" the game runs great. I have things like shadows, clouds, and textures set to normal with zero frame drop. And while I'm running in 4:3 800x600 and some of the dynamic effects don't render (I can see the raindrops splat on the ground but not falling from the sky) the game performance is more than acceptable till I can get a new computer. On  side note I also use my HDMI out to a 52 inch flatscreen TV and not use the laptop screen. So it's only $30... so go for it you might be surprised.

Intel i7 CPU Q720 @1,6 ghz

4 GB Ram

Nvidia GeForce GTX260M

SSD yes? (not sure)

Windows 7 sp1 64bit

Yeah your system is a kind of 'on-the-edge' case. It's certainly possible to play with those specs as you said but it's far from ideal. Good to know you're happy with the performance as it is  :).

How many fps will I get, I played the mod on a dual-core and I have really low fps because it's amd......

Your resolution is only 1024x768? Well, regardless of that with any of those graphics cards (preferably the 660 or 270) you will get good FPS on high settings. Your CPU is fine as well.

You will get good fps with that system once you're running the game on the 650 ti . Unless you're running it on a 4k resolution 55 inch tv? You didn't specify the resolution but I'm assuming its 1080p.

It really depends on your expectation. Yes, that system can run the game but the performance will hinder your gameplay experience since the integrated graphics card in your AMD A8 (the 8570D if im not mistaken) is not very powerful.

The performance of that GPU is lower than what I would personally recommend to play DayZ on (I would recommend a card at least twice as fast, about 1500-2000 passmark points compared to your 700 passmark score as seen in this list http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/video_lookup.php?gpu=Radeon+HD+8570D) but it's not impossible.

It's up to you wether you wanna put up with really low framerates and settings.

Hi, I'm buying my first custom PC, and I've built it with the help of a website, that lets you know if all the components are compatible. This is my build: http://gyazo.com/c1a2706f2ed696ea747b913679a289f7

I was wondering if this would be powerful enough to run DayZ, and any other modern games such as BF4 ( but DayZ

Standalone especially ) On high settings with smooth 60+ FPS?

The build will cost around £950 and wouldn't like to go over this price mark. I would like to know if I need to upgrade any of the parts or if this is good enough to run it on mid/high settings.

This website only has a few parts to choose from, but I wanted a GTX 770 and some sort of i7 processor. I'm new to all the PC building stuff so wanted to know if it's better to stick with Nvidia GTX 770, or maybe go for an AMD? I am NOT looking to overclock any of the parts either!

Sorry for the long read, but I'd appreciate help greatly, as I don't want to be wasting my money! As I say, I only have a budget of really £900, so £950 is pushing it!

Thanks for any replies, and any advice will be helpful!

Looks solid. Not sure about the psu (there are better options) and you don't have an ssd but since you're on a £900 budget the system looks fine. It will run any game on high settings with high fps, but to be honest I don't think anyone can garantee 60 fps stable in DayZ as of yet since the game performance is not fully optimised as of yet.

If you were to change cpu as you mentioned I would swap the i7 for an i5 and in exchange for that get a better quality psu or perhaps an ssd. Choice is yours, the system looks fine regardless .

Hi, thanks for the help firstly! I wasn't intending to buy an SSD as this would be primarily for gaming online. The CPU/PSU option you were talking about. Would it be wiser to downgrade on the CPU to get a better PSU? If so would you be able to recommend a good i5 CPU and a better PSU? If not, don't worry, I'll stick with this build and eventually upgrade. But thanks for the help! Assuring that the build actually would run :P

I don't think I would solely downgrade the i7 to get a better quality psu, only if you can get an SSD with it (SSD's are totally worth it!).The Corsair VS series is a budget line PSU, I've read up a bit on it and I haven't found too many complaints so it should be fine. Personally I'd rather spend a tiny bit more to get something like an XFX PRO650W but I don't know if those are widely available. It's not a must though, the Corsair will run your system - but sometimes spending a little bit more on a quality piece can be worth it in the long run  :).

When it comes to gaming the performance difference between i5s and i7s is generally really small whilst the price difference can range up to £100 when downgrading from an i7 4790 to lets say an i5 4670/4690 or even a 4440. Conveniantly enough some really good 256Gb SSD's like the new Crucial MX100 come in at about that price so it's definately worth the consideration.

Having said that I want to stress again, your build looks really solid. You've managed to fit in an i7 and a GTX 770 and you could always get an SSD later on .

Can i run Dayz standalone?

I don't know what processor your have but I'm assuming its an AMD. Yes, you can run the standalone but the performance will be far from ideal since your graphics card isn't really powerful.. The game will run very choppy.

Has anyone ever mentioned this site?  Seems like it would save a lot of time.    http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri

It can give a decent indication but imho it deals too much in absolutes (either you can run it or not, whilst not all cases are that clear) and sometimes it's just plain wrong. It doesn't tell you what kind of performance you can expect with what settings either.

I fear the game will be unplayable for you. You can probably fire up the game but the framerate is going to be incredibly low.

I'd guess the game will run pretty well on medium to maybe some higher settings but it's up to you to find the most satisfactory combination of settings and performance. There's room for some experimentation with the system you have which is a good thing  :) . Just fiddle around with the settings a bit!
