The main thing that sucks right now: The FPS

Recommended Posts

Is the hideous framerate. I literally have everything set to minimum and whenever there are buildings the game just slows to a crawl.

My computer is not the problem, so save the stupid remarks.

Mine runs quite smooth on 25 frames constant... Not great but not hideous either. How much are you getting?

Really? I am playing on a laptop that doesn't really get good frames, and I'm getting 30 FPS average, maybe 20+ in cities. 40+ in fields and such. It's fine for me and I am playing on normal.

I'm very impressed with the FPS on stand alone actually. It's the only Bohemia Interactive game that doesn't completely kill my FPS.

I get about 27 - 30 on Med - Low settings with Ambient Occlusion turned off, it was destroying my system.

Turn your post processing off.

I had everything on normal, and 1080p, and was getting 30fps. I turned off post processing, and instantly spiked to 60.

finally, someone with a piledriver too. I'm also having really low fps in towns. I disabled postprocessing, edited cfg files with no real solution.

FPS is kind of an issue, my rig is certainly a brute (fx-8350, R9 290 OC'd), and yet I average like ~25 fps with everything on normal, AA off and post processing off.

I realize alpha and all, but can still be suckish in cities.

Can't say I have noticed any game breaking issues, I've been on it all day, in daylight and in towns???

Getting decent performance compared to the mod.

Not really bad, as your eyes can only process 25 FPS anyway, can they not?

Well eyes aren't cameras, we don't see by blinking 25 times per second and processing those still images into motion.  It's definitely noticeable compared to the higher frames I see in more demanding games, but no, it's not unplayable by any means -- just kinda distracting.

Haven't noticed any issues myself either. 680 4GB and a 2600k. Game runs totally fine maxed out except for the pastel looking post processing. I have been averaging 45 so far but I haven't have it too much stress yet.

How is 25 fps anything other than hideous?

25-35 FPS on Very High settings and now that I have tweaked it a bit and am using more Normal/High 30-45. If it isn't the computer then it is probably the operator. I would hazard a guess at it being a bit of both.

Details please and there is a Sticked Topic that may help concerning fps.

80 fps in wilderness, 50+ in big towns with everything on max, if I turn everything to min I get 100 fps in cities. I might be lucky with hardware combinations tho.

Nope. it's the poor optimization of the game.

The main thing is that lowering my resolution does basically nothing for the FPS, there's a slight gain but not as much as there should be. If lowering your resolution doesn't increase fps alot, it means your GPU is not really struggling to render whatever it's dealing with. There is some other choke-point.

I did see this thread, and currently I think the game can only see half of my gpu memory, and probably isn't using all my cores either if I am understanding that thread properly.  I will definitely give it a shot when I get home!
