Ozelot (DayZ) 394 Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) Is the hideous framerate. I literally have everything set to minimum and whenever there are buildings the game just slows to a crawl. My computer is not the problem, so save the stupid remarks. Edited December 17, 2013 by Ozelot
Zarniwoop 1193 Posted December 17, 2013 Mine runs quite smooth on 25 frames constant... Not great but not hideous either. How much are you getting?
Inception. 9443 Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) Really? I am playing on a laptop that doesn't really get good frames, and I'm getting 30 FPS average, maybe 20+ in cities. 40+ in fields and such. It's fine for me and I am playing on normal. Edited December 17, 2013 by Inception.
Beck (DayZ) 1768 Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) I'm very impressed with the FPS on stand alone actually. It's the only Bohemia Interactive game that doesn't completely kill my FPS. Edited December 17, 2013 by Beck
strongtent 74 Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) I get about 27 - 30 on Med - Low settings with Ambient Occlusion turned off, it was destroying my system. *Radeon HD 6670 / Quad-core 3.6 / 8Gigs / 1080P Edited December 19, 2013 by Strongtent
obiwanjacobey 9 Posted December 17, 2013 FALSE, this http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154226-text-system-vs-icon-system/ is the main thing that sucks right now
Statik (DayZ) 2695 Posted December 17, 2013 Turn your post processing off. I had everything on normal, and 1080p, and was getting 30fps. I turned off post processing, and instantly spiked to 60.

I'm also having really low fps in towns. I disabled postprocessing, edited cfg files with no real solution.
Euryalus 2 Posted December 17, 2013 FPS is kind of an issue, my rig is certainly a brute (fx-8350, R9 290 OC'd), and yet I average like ~25 fps with everything on normal, AA off and post processing off. I realize alpha and all, but can still be suckish in cities.
Michaelvoodoo25 3120 Posted December 17, 2013 Can't say I have noticed any game breaking issues, I've been on it all day, in daylight and in towns???Getting decent performance compared to the mod.

Euryalus 2 Posted December 17, 2013 Not really bad, as your eyes can only process 25 FPS anyway, can they not? Well eyes aren't cameras, we don't see by blinking 25 times per second and processing those still images into motion. It's definitely noticeable compared to the higher frames I see in more demanding games, but no, it's not unplayable by any means -- just kinda distracting. firemedic 7 Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) Haven't noticed any issues myself either. 680 4GB and a 2600k. Game runs totally fine maxed out except for the pastel looking post processing. I have been averaging 45 so far but I haven't have it too much stress yet. Edited December 17, 2013 by FireMedic772
BigCountry 26 Posted December 17, 2013 Turn HDR to Very Low under VIdeo. Notcied the best FPS jump after doing that.

mercules 1290 Posted December 17, 2013 My computer is not the problem, so save the stupid remarks.25-35 FPS on Very High settings and now that I have tweaked it a bit and am using more Normal/High 30-45. If it isn't the computer then it is probably the operator. I would hazard a guess at it being a bit of both.

Shizukage (DayZ) 17 Posted December 17, 2013 80 fps in wilderness, 50+ in big towns with everything on max, if I turn everything to min I get 100 fps in cities. I might be lucky with hardware combinations tho. i7 2600k @ 4.2GHzEVGA GTX 78016GB 1600MHz Kingston Hyper X

The main thing is that lowering my resolution does basically nothing for the FPS, there's a slight gain but not as much as there should be. If lowering your resolution doesn't increase fps alot, it means your GPU is not really struggling to render whatever it's dealing with. There is some other choke-point. Euryalus 2 Posted December 17, 2013 Details please and there is a Sticked Topic that may help concerning fps.Try the propositions and see what happens. I did see this thread, and currently I think the game can only see half of my gpu memory, and probably isn't using all my cores either if I am understanding that thread properly. I will definitely give it a shot when I get home!
