I remember Katana having a detailed post about the environment and the overall atmosphere and feel of the game. I think they've come along way in establishing a post-apocalyptic feel.

Agreed, the buildings look amazing. Dat Apartment building.... /drool

 

Rocket, you're gonna' want that furniture... framerate be damned. I'd rather believable buildings than empty husks.

Cherno is amazing.  You'll get that day 1 DayZ feel when you're there.  I've walked through it a few times.

...except there's no zeroing on ACOGs. The have bullet drop compensators. I hope someone tells rocket.

I think this is a good example of why any benchmark for release should be interpreted within reason. I think this is a relatively new bug and it's one that really can't exist in the release. It makes the game unplayable.

 

It also doesn't seem like too big of a deal to fix, judging by what Rocket said.

I can imagine how annoying that must be, spending ages joining and leaving servers to get a correct log in haha.

Yeah He said they will try and fix it by monday! Hopefully it's not too bad.

ACOG zoom didn't look too realistic ..

 

You don't see the shape of the scope (housing) that clearly .. you should see more of the zoomed in area.

 

Also you don't see the front sight post (only some blurred spot).

One, it was broken... So, not sure if it looks different/functional if it's at 100% and not entirely cracked.

 

Two, I don't care anymore.

 

EDIT - I love the guy going off on this long-winded speech about weapon modularity when you could just... you know... say "weapon modularity".

Having said that, when I say "ACOGs have no zeroing", what I really mean is they have no range adjustment dial. That's not really "Zeroing" (even though it seems ot be in ArmA vernacular). Zeroing is actually the process of merging your point of impact with your point of aim using the azimuth and elevation dials (these aren't to be confused with range dials).

 

IRL, if you picked a found ACOG up off the ground and attached it to your weapon, your bullets would go to a different point than your where your reticule is pointing, and you'd have to use the dials to bring those two points together. I think it would be cool if this were implemented in the SA.
