cat and dog food -- bloodbags

Recommended Posts

As we have can food, we should also come across with cat and dog food while looting. Since those are food too. But maybe a slight infection risk when eaten? Makes it more realistic. You are desperate enough to eat those because you will starve if you say "eww". :P

About the bloodbag; on all bloddbags it writes "B"

Everyone doesn't have the same bloodgroup. Actually B is the most rare one. Either remove that "B" or make the group written random..

Or maybe

Everyone has a different bloodgroup so you need the one which fits ya. Or you'll die.

Here's a scheme of blood types and who can give blood to what group.

This can also help to have "bloodbag trades" you give out a bloodbag that you cant use and get one which fits to your body. http://www.nobelprize.org/educational/medicine/landsteiner/images/fig9-scheme.gif

why would the infection rate be higher? cat and dog food are perfectly fine for humans to eat, and due to the difference in regulations as far as preservatives and shit go - they probably have a longer shelf life than say a can of sardines (sardines are disgusting, i think i'd personally rather eat the dog food by the way!).

If you eat too much you do get poisoned.

isn't O or O+ a one size fits all blood type?

like a person with that can transfuse anyone.

and anyway dogfood is safe for people just made specifically for dogs, with more things for them, while humans like things for flavor. so dogfood would be fine to eat but probably wouldn't fill you up as much.

as far as im aware thats just the most common, i don't think they can transfuse an AB- for example (could be totally wrong, I cba to google - how lazy is that?)

0 is the main giver. But can only take blood from 0 if needed. So changing the letter to 0 can help aswell.

They are already working on a new bloodbag system for the mod. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/149483-rolling-changelog-181/

* [NEW] - Blood types/blood system

- You may now fill bloodbags (filled blood bags only take 4k blood and give back 4k)

- incompatible blood transfusions will result in extended unconsciousness of the recipient.

- Ability to take blood from yourself and other players

- Blood types + Rh types are based off real world statistics

- ability to take a bit of blood off a recently dead corpes (may yield infection)

* [NEW] - Blood testing kit (to determine blood type) and disposable transfusion kit.

The SA will have different blood types, (think the mod was working on it too).  Dog and cat food (or any canned food where the seal is intact) is safe for human consumption.  Probably the only thing separating the meaty chunks you feed your dog from what you eat is that they use the CHEAPEST cuts of meat (or the same if you constantly eat Taco Bell).  The canning process itself boils/heats the meat and sanitizes both the can and food and cooks it in the process.  If you could get an infection from eating dog/cat food, our pets would constantly be getting sick.

Yeah sure as if that product would make it to the shelves...i think human food is more dangerous to us than animal food is with all that shit that is happeing atm...rotten meat sold or made into burgers and seasoned so nobody tastes it etc...

Oh God... Mass suicides if you spawn with a rare blood type.

NOW we have something that makes a players life more valuable...shoot him and risk to lose someone who could have saved your life if you left him alive because both of you share the same rare blood type or just shoot away...? I bet they will just take all their blood use up the blood bags and cry that they don't have spares...

From what? It's safer to eat canned dog food than to eat at your local Fast Food restaurant.

Bloodtype O are universal donors you simply have to watch for the RH of the blood type. I am an O- and so anyone with a - blood type can accept blood from me but I can only have O- blood. AB on the other hand can not give blood to anyone but an AB but can accept any blood of the same RH.

O+ can go to anyone, there are dangers if to much is given to a different blood group, with it messing with their blood type. Especially females apparently. But o+ is the most common, and the most useful.

Cat food in blood let me see....will i grow cat ears and a tail and am i able to climb up walls now? In the end the one who had the idea to waste a good supply needs them the most...really shows that things are still not rare enough. You should be running for 8 hours in game and be happy to find one can of beans during your loot run.

I am O- and I am a universal donor, (means that I can give blood to anyone), BUT I believe I can only receive blood from another O-.

I think O+ is a universal receiver, (can take blood from anyone other blood type).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I get the stuff with real meat and vegetables.

I save a lot of time on food preparation.

Would be interesting if you were going to add dog food, why not add dogs? you can find a grungy puppy and take care of him, when they get big enough they can protect you from zombies and alert you to nearby people. and if they do end up biting a zed they can turn into zombie dogs.
