It's all good.

 

Okay so in other news... There were not that many people running the game today. What's with that? The team keeps saying things like "testing is going great!" ect. But then I look at this and I'm thinking, well if things are going so great, why aren't they able to test with more than 14 players? I mean, the screens, dev chatter, rockets statements; it all seems highly promising. A 14 player test, however, is not. Come on Dean; let's see that "progress" you keep talking about so much.

I think you're reading way too much into random server population numbers. It is meaningless, especially if you're just looking at one day's activity.

Yeah, perhaps you're right. Maybe they've already tested a majority of the components and stress tests are no longer necessary.

 

I'm just getting antsy because I want to play the game. #DayZParanoia

My main theory is that we will see a large test with 50+ people on the steam testing server days before release. Alternatively - for whatever reasons they are satisfied with the results of the 22 player test and believe it will scale nicely. Then all is left is the final integration test. Rocket said it will be a "basic" QA acceptance test so it could take as few as 1-2 days.  However the fact that devels are still working late and relatively low activity on the test server indicates that all components for the integration test have not been delivered yet. Optimistically the "can't wait with to play with you" comment is a hint that they are now ready to proceed with the final test. Then they need a few days for minor last minute polish work and delivering the server code to the hosters. 

 

What this all means is that under the best of circumstances we may see release next week.

Meh,  I say under the best circumstance it will come out in three weeks.  That way, if it nothing happens next week, I will not be disappointed.  But if something does happen next week, I will be pleasantly surprised  :)

I'm still betting on it being released before the end of december. But i'm being conservative.

30 SECONDS!! *MG34 bullets ping and thud on the side off the metal.  15in guns rip through the air from the British Cruisers.  37mm AAA blasts away at the dozens of aircraft flying about*

Has there been any information or news about improving melee attacks and closing the gap between zombies hitting you from x amount of feet away?

Or improving the hit test code between the player and zombies in melee combat?

That's the only annoying thing for me is a zombie attacking me before I'm even close enough to melee range it's ass...

Because the predicted 5th November release didn't happen, I think the Zombie Apocalypse is just a fairy tale and there is no such thing as "DayZ standalone".

By the way. In that last pic with the scoped Mosin Nagant. Is that a walking stick at the backpack? I mean those stick people use to walk when they have a broken leg or sth?

Very interesting, I didn't even notice it myself. Preferebly a better alternative than having to get a splint/morphine as they must be very common in a lot of households.

Actually, you guys are right. I didn't notice that it actually had a handle.. Excuse me :(

 

 

I bet most of you have seen the first script, but this is an updated version including a heatmap and fixed so zombies don't "Spawn" in the water. Very interesting.

Why mix german, american and british weaponry in the same post? and if they are the enemy then who are you and your allies? Just doesn't make sense to me.

Wow that rifle with the scope looks a bit long.

 

Makes sense now for a Christmas release, so no-one can play it too long because of family visits and eating, drinking and pissing.
