I don't want helicopters in-game as long as the system is not rewamped so that you cannot look through forests and bushes when flying over them. Nothing is more frustrating than hiding a tent (in the mod) as good as you can, just to have it recognized within 2-3 hours by the always on duty helicopter bird eye patrol. All that because of fooliage not rendering for them...

The long-range scope is afaik the only item in DayZ SA that I haven't found yet. I am not really actively searching for one, but I never seen it ingame...
-
I would probably sprint fists raised through Electro, singing "Always look on the bright side" loud to check if there are any snipers active and if rubber-banding is for real.

I play both but prefer 1st person in general. I am using TrackIR and it's really fun in Arma/DayZ. I also prefer the general immersion with 1st person only in the sense of having equal playing fields. Many times I have died on 3pp servers because some sniper is laying on the rooftop of the fire station looking 360 degrees without giving his position away. This is not possible in 1st person only. The only annoying thing in 1st person is that I somehow feel that I am viewing a floating camera (headblob off, as I feel dizzy with it on). I don't know why but only Arma/DayZ cause this, no other FPS. I also play on 3pp servers regularly because I love seeing the different clothes on my avatar but generally, on 3pp servers, I experience 2 different negatives. 1st, too often getting shot/shooting others because I could watch above the wall/around a corner and only expose myself the moment the opponent looked the other way. And 2nd every time a buddy or me is getting shot, the excuse: "He must've exploited watching around the corner" comes up. As suggested before, only render the stuff that would be in your real field of view would be a great improvement to 3pp servers. Nevertheless, I play both modes equally.

Why co-operate if you're gonna get shot anyways?
Sensemann replied to Goddam Firestations's topic in General Discussion
The problem is on both sides. Ass-hat-wanna-be-bandit that either KOS's or if he manages to hold one up, shoots him anyways just to be safe. Or the guy that gets held up and decides to take the chances to turn around and shoot because he considers himself dead anyway because of the bandit. When I play banditry in a group, my mates and me usually try to hold up people with good gear and steal some of it to distribute it to people that have no gear at all, or are very weak. Only requirement to survive is: follow our orders and don't act stupid. We always show 3 out of 4 players in our group so that the victim(s) know(s) he is outnumbered. You wouldn't believe how many players with a Mosin/SKS on Balota airfield think they stand a chance making a 180 degree turn and shoot 3 guys aiming at him. The smarter players survive. Those are usually the ones that comply to what is requested and often, we even let them keep their weapon including ammo. (Which we take away but drop 200m away so that it can be picked up again). Now when I am playing alone and try to hold up someone, odds that you are dead are increasing because obviously, a lone-wolf is more trigger-happy if you act stupid. However, it doesn't mean you are dead. Personally, I have been held up multiple times by groups as well and Coastal-bandits are the ones that let you spawn, hold you up for some minutes, handcuff you (or not) and then have some fun with you. You are dead though, cause they shoot you. Those are just weak players. I don't stop for them anymore. Die-respawn is quicker than wasting 5 mins with them. However, getting held up anywhere away from the coast and especially outside of Electro, can be super-fun. And just don't act stupid. Stupidity gets you killed. -
I'd give you my revolver saying: "Here cowboy, for immersion's sake".

I would've given you beans if you did this on a First-person-only server. Using 3rd person to look over edges in order to avoid potential line of fire in your advance makes it only half as cool. Still cool though. No offense.

There's no reason to go to the NWAF or the north anymore (here's why)
Sensemann replied to omgwtfbbq (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I like your post. Especially under consideration of what you wrote under your avatar, under "location". Way to lure in players to go to NWAF to check out if what you are saying is true. I figured it all by myself. -

Rolling Changelog: Stable Branch: 0.32.114557
Sensemann replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
Reads great except one thing: Dead character cleanup performed at 10 minutes past death I don't think this is the right way to go. Unless I misunderstand, I think dead bodies should stay. They are a great way of causing fear to players. Going into Electro, seeing 5 dead bodies near the supermarket and players will be cautious. Also, sometimes, if you kill somebody, you do not loot him immediately, but might take longer than 10 minutes until you approach that body. If it is possible, I'd prefer that the devs change this in such a way that you cannot loot your own dead bodies after respawning, in order to avoid players respawning and simply running back to where they died. Other players, especially newspawns should get the benefit of looting previously killed players. -
The police states that you have to stop at a red light. However, I still cross the road by red when the officers ain't watching.

Just please no Hummer, like in ever! That thing is an immersion killer in DayZ like no other vehicle.

Hardcore bandits you say? What did you rob so far if you need to ask where the prey is? Empty buildings?

Already frustrated, new player needs advice
Sensemann replied to BenCy's topic in New Player Discussion
Don't get attached to your gear, that's most important. What I usually do is to simply switch targets. For example, if I got killed while having all kinds of camo clothing, Mosin, military vest and helmet, then my next goals are: Find a mosin, get a blue backpack with blue jeans etc. I might still end up finding camo clothing etc. and of course, will use those, but the idea is: set your goals lower than the avatar that just got killed. In that sense, you are easier to be happy about your current game and get constant postive feedback if you find sth better than initially set as a goal. -
I am impressed and will avoid the hill of Electro because of the potential of meeting the self-proclaimed "Master at Dayz that will never combat log". All you will ever hear of me is my shouting for "Mommy" when running zig-zag in a big circle around said hill.

Should Gillie suits be a craft-able item only?
Sensemann replied to kermo50's topic in General Discussion
Sure, that could be an option. With an even further penality of increasing water consumption while wearing the ghillie. I am not against ghillie's at all, but just want to make it more difficult for players to get one as it is dumb if everybody has one because every 10th home on the map has one in the wardrobe.
