NagsterTheGangster 388 Posted September 25, 2013 I understand there are other things that need working on first but I would like to see a few more new items in houses etc to add to the atmosphere of the game a little more... some places look pretty bare, like people moved out where id like to see more places that look like they got `left in a hurry`
King of kong 1117 Posted September 25, 2013 I agree. Maybe some makeshift Furniture Barricades too.
creature 1189 Posted September 25, 2013 I agree. Maybe some makeshift Furniture Barricades too. Shhhhh... Do you know how many people cried about the barricades at the NWAF? I like the furniture idea but only if you can lounge on the couch. I can see the undie calendar now. :o
applejaxc 2500 Posted September 25, 2013 Is it just me, or do all the houses look like they were inhabited by midgets? Maybe I'm just a 1st world American, but I've lived in pretty rural areas and been into the mountainous, non-city parts of Japan and houses have a LOT more than just 2 rooms. Michaelvoodoo25 3120 Posted September 25, 2013 Some of the new building interiors have plenty of furniture!Barricading a house will mean burglars with bigger guns, though imagine their shock when they get in and there is a steaming turd in a not so empty tin!
Mos1ey 6301 Posted September 25, 2013 Yeah, the new interiors look a bit more 'lived in' in the standalone. :)
wild_man 4442 Posted September 25, 2013 if you want to play doll house buy sims and enjoy all furniture you want ;)
Lady Kyrah 1110 Posted September 25, 2013 there is a tradeoff to be had here, players have a bounding box representing their physical presence, hell guns have one too (the whole, "this game suck, my rifle get stuck in corners" thing). The more clutter you add, the harder navigating inside houses is going to be. So there is a balancing act there.

Cormyr 39 Posted September 27, 2013 I agree. Maybe some makeshift Furniture Barricades too. And without an axe or something like that, you cannot break down the barricade and enter the house. I like it!

Should not be too difficult to add furniture etc.. to houses without blocking the player too much. Would be nice if you could climb over things like counters and couches etc.. if they blocked the path.
King of kong 1117 Posted September 27, 2013 And without an axe or something like that, you cannot break down the barricade and enter the house. I like it!But it would still be possible to move the furniture out of the way like in Outlast. if it was boarded up doors you could use a crowbar or hammer. Yeah not sure why I was thinking everything would be nailed in place lol. Tis true, should be able to move certain items out of the way. my bad
Lady Kyrah 1110 Posted September 27, 2013 Moveable objects might then require physics calculation and to be synchronised globally by the server tho.
enforcer1975 1111 Posted September 27, 2013 Moveable objects might then require physics calculation and to be synchronised globally by the server tho. If they made it like in Wasteland where the objects were spawned at predefined locations, in case of DayZ they wouldn't just stand around scattered in a town but standing in the houses where furniture would normally be found. Cormyr 39 Posted September 27, 2013 I think just the barriers should be movable. Not all furniture etc.. Maybe barriers are not movable at all, just there until you use something to remove them and then they despawn and spawn later at some point. But it would be nice to be able to collect such things and use them yourself on your base or another building etc.. anyways.. just thoughts on it.
NagsterTheGangster 388 Posted October 3, 2013 I'm liking these ideas, like how cool would it be if in the middle of a shootout you grabbed a couch and slid it in front of you to take a few bullets. Baddass as fuck imo.
AP_Norris 1018 Posted October 3, 2013 I would like to see doors that we can't enter barricaded with furniture.Maybe blood coming from under the door so you know there's nothing living inside still.

Baddass as fuck imo.A couch would only be as a visual break so attackers are unsure of your exact position.Unless the couch was on wheels RO you could sit on it I wouldn't try it.I said sitting because it seems like fun to be pushed around on a couch in a firefight poppin off Zeds in luxury.
