The way ammo is made is specifically made to reduce flash without anything on the barrel to help. Military grade ammo has a muzzle-flash visible (with a .308) at 200 meters. a pistol has virtually none as far as I know. it also is almost too short to be able to see it, so unless your firing an automatic at closer than 150 meters than its very hard to spot.

The car zoomed down the highway near the hill I was on. It had been passing through for a few weeks now. It left then came back every day, probably looting. I had found the place they kept it, but they had more survivors than my group, and more guns as well. I decided to take the shot and put the left front wheel in my scope and it slowed to make a turn. I squeezed the trigger and saw a puff of dust and the car slowly skidded to a stop. One of the survivors got out and started yelling at the other who was crouching behind the car holding a gun. I cocked my rifle and aimed at the survivor on my side of the car, as he fell to the ground dead I heard the repeated crack of automatic fire and bullets struck the ground about 20 meters to my left. He's trying to find me I thought, I waited til his head poked out to shoot again and took off the top of it. As he fell to the ground I scoped out backseat for any others. No one. I ran up to the car and took an AKM off of the second survivor and checked how much ammo he had. About 1 1/2 mags was all. I looted the bodies and pulled the spare tire out of the trunk. I started replacing the wheel.

Peering through my scope which I used as a telescope I watched as the two survivors sat down and started talking. Are they idiots?! The lighthouse is a hotspot for survivors regrouping, and bandits came there often looking for prey. since Anatoly was back at the base recuperating from the gunshot wound I was looting with jack. He his machete was covered in blood which was the result of a failed attempt at stealth. My Backpack was getting rather heavy and this had been a successful mission. I had found several rounds for my rifle slightly boosting my ever dwindling supply and an actual gun. A Black pump-action shotgun that I didn't know the name of. One of the survivors got up and started to leave. The other seemed to call him back, I watched waiting to see what would happen.

I lifted the butt of the rifle to my shoulder and peered through the scope's lens. The two bandits that had hijacked the traders' car were standing next to it with the hood pried open. But only two, I looked at Anatoly who was lying on the ground clutching his leg, a makarov lying next to him along with the revolver. Kate and john came up and helped our Russian friend to his feet. I grabbed the pistols and checked the bandits. A Makarov and hunting knife, The car had enough food inside to last us for 2-3 days and I grabbed as much as I could carry. Back at camp I sent Kate and john to get the last of the supplies and went inside. Metal pipes reinforced the door and the windows were boarded up. I dumped the food on the floor in the small kitchen and went into the only bedroom. Nathan, a thirteen year old kid was laying on the bed a crude splint on his leg. Him and his mother were the only survivors of the crash that were related. The plane crash had killed all but six of the 103 passengers, the survivors of the crash didn't live here so they had no immunity to the virus and getting bitten was doom for them. Anatoly was the only one who might be immune because he was a native. I sat on the couch to try to rest for a bit and drifted off.
