Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I have had dayz for a year now and have not been able to play it, wondering if this would run it.

  • AMD E-300 accelerated processor
  • 4GB DDR3 SDRAM system memory (expandable to 8GB)
  • 320GB SATA hard drive
  • SuperMulti DVD Burner
  • 10/100Base-T Fast Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN
  • AMD Radeon HD 6310 Discrete-Class Graphics
  • HP TrueVision HD webcam
  • 3 x USB 2.0 ports, 1 x HDMI port, 1 x VGA port, 1 x headphone jack, 1 x microphone jack, 1 x RJ-45 Ethernet port
  • 6-cell Li-ion battery for up to four-hours battery life
  • 5.39 lbs, 1.2" x 14.8" x 9.72"
  • HP laptops have a one-year limited hardware warranty
  • HP laptops include: HP 2000 Laptop, power cord, AC adapter, and Quick Start Guide

I don't know much about computers so I just need a little help.

Hi guys, I'm pretty sure I can run the mod well but curious to know how well. Here's my set up:

  • i7-2600K 3.4Ghz
  • 16 GB DDR3 2133 RAM
  • 2TB 7.2K Drive (for data) and 120GB SSD (For O/S)
  • Gigabit Dual NiCs (Realtek) I'm tempted to TEAM them together but not sure yet
  • Windows 8 64bit (Might be upgrading to 8.1 this week)
  • 2GB nVidia GTX 770

I haven't played at all and have been on the fence about it, but figured it was time to take the plunge. Would like to know what kind of FPS I'd get especially if there's always that element of PVP

Thanks for taking a look.

You'll run the game fine. You'll have stable fps that's for sure.

Side note, upgrade to 8.1 it's awesome.

Yeah I run 8.1 at work and prefer it over 8 especially how aggressive it cleans up memory and such, but just wanted to make sure there's no problems with it and DayZ :)

Thanks for the info.

Not looking good sorry. You'll be getting barely any frames if you manage to play.

Should be fine, 30 - 40+ on high.

CPU is quite slow, and intergrated graphics will not agree with this game at all. Sorry.

Not sure exactly how well, but if all goes smoothly you could be getting 20 - 30 fps (maybe) on low - normal settings.

Not at very high at all, even with AA, PPE shadows etc all turned off.

You might be getting 20 - 30 on low.

How is that possible? Im getting 20 frames on very low with this crappy laptop:

Processor: AMD Turion II Dual Core Mobile M500 2.20 ghz

GPU: AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200

Ram: 4gb (3.75 usable)

There's a youtube video of someone running BF3 at ultra with AA off at about 40 fps. He was using a laptop the exact same specs. I'm sure if a laptop can run BF3 on those settings, it should be able to run DayZ at around 30 fps on highish settings

This game is badly optimized, and eats a lot of CPU. I get 100 fps Ultra on BF4 on this game I barely get 90+ in open field with most of everything normal.

You can feel this game eating out your CPU. If you're on a budget, building a pc revolving this game is a bad idea because in theory you won't have the funds.

You shouldn't be going cheap on a gaming rig anyways or you'll just be upgrading soonish. If you're building a pc or plan to get a laptop wait it out, there's sales. Today for instance Black Friday, then you have Cyber Monday, then the holiday sales. Be mindful, at least if your rig runs other popular games don't worry so, as to SA will be out soon(pipe dream) and hopefully it's optimized.

Nope, its not really even worth upgrading to be honest, you would need a new pc to run dayz.

Sorry.

If you are wanting to sli, run a few fluid coolers etc, its smart to make sure you have plenty o head room in your psu ;)
