Hello all, I am sorry if there is already an area for this question, I am new to this site. I am getting a new computer soon and really want to be able to play DayZ with a good, non-laggy Frame Rate. I am looking at 2 computers. One is from DigitalStorm, and the other is from BestBuy. They are both gaming computers. Here are the specs of each:

DigitalStorm Computer:

- Computer Name: Digital Storm VANQUISH Gaming PC

- Website Link: Click Here

- Processor: Intel Core i3 4330 3.50 GHz (Dual Core)

- Motherboard: ASUS ASUS H81M-E (Intel H81 Chipset) (MATX)

- System Memory: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series

- Power Supply: 430W Corsair CX

- Hard Drive (HDD Not SSD): 500GB Seagate (7200 RPM) (16MB Cache)

- Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 1GB (Includes PhysX)

BestBuy Computer:

- Computer Name: Lenovo - IdeaCentre Desktop  Model: K450

- Website Link: Click Here

- Processor: Intel 4th Generation Core i5  3.0GHz (with Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz)

- System Memory: 8GB DDR3

- Hard Drive (HDD Not SSD): 1TB SATA (7200 rpm)

- Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 630  2GB (dedicated)

- Discrete Graphics (Im not sure what this is but it is in the specs): Yes

I really want the Digital Storm one but I will get which ever one is better for gaming. With either of these, would I be able to play DayZ on max settings and not lag at all (Hopefully 30+ FPS)? If not, which settings (Low, medium, high, etc.) and how much FPS do you think I will get? Also, would I be able to record (I may want to, but it's ok if I can't)? Please tell me what you think for the 2 computers above. Thank you so much for reading and helping me out.

- Justin

P.S. Which computer of these 2 do you think I should get? I would also be playing Minecraft, COD: WAW, Garry's Mod and some other games on it.

With my computer now and all my settings at very low, as low as it can get with 800x600 and lower at sometimes I get 1-3 fps on a field with nothing but small bushes. I have dual core 2.8ghz overclocked to 3.4ghz and hd 5450 1gb dedicated video memory.

You wil get atleast 1fps and you wil have probebly problems even running the game. 64mb of memory won't cut it!

Specs:

Desktop

Resolution: 1920x1080

Windows 7 64 OS.

CPU: Intel® i7 2.8 GHz

GPU: Nvidia 250 GTS (just got newest driver but didn´t help)

Ram-Mem: 8 GB

Vram: 1 GB

SSD: no

i run the game at 3-8 fps, depending on my location in the game, it never ran smoothly, tried almost all tweaks on these forums (both to my video card, and game configs, also tried using ramdisk with no succes).

Only thing i didn´t try yet is overclocking.

If anyone can tell me what my problem might be i´d be happy.

Your problem is your computer specs. Case closed. Edited by Skypill

Even on lowest possible settings that will lag terribly. Near unplayable, I would say. Sorry!

Ha ha, I'm pretty sure it'll run really bad. LoL and Blacklight are not the most intensive games to run, ArmA II is a whole different kettle of fish. Implying you could manage to run the game, you would be getting <10 fps with everything on low or disabled.

Your CPU is running at 2.2GHz, which is incredibly slow. I would be aiming for at least 3.0GHz with 4 cores for decent gameplay.

Intel are usually the bare minimum for GPUs, Nvidia and AMD are the two main competitors. For Nvidia, a GTX 650 would be the minimum, and for AMD, a 7770.

But even with $2000 computers people might still only get 40 fps, ArmA II just hates everyone, some people are lucky, and some aren't.

Not exactly the same as ArmA II, but somewhere along the lines of it I would imagine.

That would be a good idea.

Keep in mind though the ArmA II demo lacks a lot of features, so you might be getting alot more performance-wise than you would with the full game.
