Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

Recommended Posts

If my budget is basically 800.00 USD max with OS, would me buying a i5 3570k cripple the rest of the build financially?

I just need a pc to play dayz well. I can do some upgrades for future gaming down the road.

This is my first build so I have nothing but a mouse keyboard and 1366x768 monitor. I have to buy all parts the first time, Later I can buy a better CPU/GPU to run future games.

I just want this one to run dayz/current games well.

Build Ideas?

Thank you

My desktop is 1366x768 (Resolution NATIVE), this monitor supports 720p and 1080p ...

I can run all games in 1080p FULLHD (including BF3 and BF4) The only game I do not feel "OK", the performance 1080p is DayZMOD!, I can only play the DayZMOD with great graphics and smooth with resolution "NATIVE" 1366x768, someone can tell me why?!

This is a budget build I hope to run smoothly on Medium settings. Do you think I will regret it? Will this allow me at least 30+ fps?

AMD FX-Series FX-6100(3.3GHz)

  • 8GB DDR3
  • 1TB HDD Capacity
  • Windows 8 64-bit
  • AMD Radeon HD 7770 1GB
  • 500w PSU

Its about 600.00 USD. Will this get me playing Dayz at an enjoyable medium settings level?

High-very high 60+ fps in towns/forest, 40-ish+ in cities

Should run normal-high with decent FPS, my mate has a similar spec desktop. You'd be running maxed out if you spent the same on a desktop though...

Might just about run on absolute minimum settings but I wouldn't take the chance TBH. Sorry!

Low-normal settings with 30+ FPS. Might be able to bump a few of the lesser intensive settings up to high.

I appreciate it, mZLY. That's about the performance I expect/want. But with how I live, I'm moving around too much for a desktop. Thanks a lot :)
