Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

Recommended Posts

Probably not with that on-board graphics. You really need a dedicated card unfortunately.

Debating whether to change the HD7870 in the listing for a HD7990... Would there be much point, with the rest of the build specifications? ie. would it bottleneck or something?

Unanswered bump (see post #362 for my potential system spec)

This is a copy and paste from a thread I made earlier: Sorry to bother you guys with more specs threads, this is my first post and I just made an account to post my specs to see if they can't run DayZ since when I am playing Dayz I am getting 10FPS after lowering my setting and watching videos on how to get the best performance, I just tried ARMA 2 online and it seemed fine. My specs are : Model - Acer Aspire 5943G laptop , Intel® Core™ i7 CPU Q740 @ 1.73GHZ (i7 - 740 QM processor, 6MB L3 Cache) , ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 up to 5107 MB Hyper Memory, 8GB DDR3 memory, 640GB HDD ,8 GB ram (4gb useable) ... windows 7 64 bit . My apologies for the worst paragraph you have ever tried to read but I can't seem to press enter , I am not that good with computers (360 player) so any info on these specs are really appreciated . Thanks Guys, (Just got told need 2.4ghz so I am go check my other pc )

Yes 8 is better, its what the min reg is for gaming rigs these days. 16 will set you just fine.

That still does not answer how well it'll run DayZ... Like, what fps approx will it get? That is what i want to know.

What about:

Samsung NP300E5X-S04RU laptop

Intel Core i5-3210M @ 2.5 GHz

4 GB DDR3 @ 1333 MHz

NVIDIA GeForce GT620M @ 1 GB

OR

Dell Inspiron N5521 laptop

Intel Core i7-3517U @ 1.9GHz

6 GB DDR3 @ 1600 MHz

AMD Radeon HD 8730 @ 2 GB?

both CPUs are really slow to play dayz or arma. Plus it's a laptop so the performance won't be good any way you slice it. If you can build a desktop...

I am currently about to spend ~$2,300 on a gaming PC which is hopefully a bit future-proof and I would appreciate it so much if I could possibly get a few educated opinions on how it would run DayZ! :)

Right now the current plan for the PC is;

Processor: Intel Core i7 3770K Bridge 3.5GHz 8MB

MotherBoard: Asus P8Z77-M LGA1155 mATX

Memory: GeIL 16GB Kit (2x8GB) DDR3 Evo Veloce C9 1333Mhz

Graphics Card: Asus GeForce GTX680 DirectCU II OC 1084M/6008M 2GB/2xDVI/HDMI/DP

Sound Card: Asus Xonar Essence STX 7.1 PCIe

Power: Antec High Current Pro 750W 80PLUS Gold Semi-Modular

I apologize if there is too much information there, not sure what parts people would want to see :)

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Are you just trying to show off your rig or something? Of course it will run dayz and damn well at that. Although I'd get the 700 series cards instead

Okay I've ordered the new PC, should be in tomorrow, will update the info below;

Processor: Intel Core i7

Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4

Graphics Card: GeForce GTX680 DirectCU II OC

Power Supply: Antec High Current Pro 750W

Memory: G.Skill 16GB Kit (2x8GB) DDR3 1600MHz

Didn't really need the sound card so I removed it and upped the ram MHz from 1333 to 1600, thanks for the feedback guys!

So just double checking, I wont be experiencing any sort of problems running it?

Hi,

So ive done some research about my computer via canyourunit.

apparently my laptop can't run dayz according to this website. However I have heard i can still play the game just on the lowest settings.

Im guessing my laptop is just on the edge since it can run arma 2 but not OA or day z.

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/CYRI/Requirements/dayz-mod/11404?p=a

Can anyone back this story up if this is true? and if i can play the game?

Once again excuse me for my english

and thank you for the feedback.

Just buy a custom pc build.

I won't depend on a laptop for my gaming needs.
