Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted August 28, 2013 That's a really good article for anyone that isn't aware of the inspiration for DayZ. Well written too. Not sure about the photo though.

Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted August 28, 2013 (edited) New material for the just seen rocket thread is always welcome.Of course! Goddamit I nearly forgot all about that thread. This will breathe some new life into it. Thanks Wired. I'm thinking Phantom Of The Opera. Edited August 28, 2013 by Fraggle

Skat3rat 1633 Posted August 28, 2013 I knew books were being added but I didn't know it was legit books. "He also populated the game with hundreds of public domain books like War of the Worlds and Moby-Dick. Maybe players would find a quiet place to read away from the zombie apocalypse."

mzltv 2281 Posted August 28, 2013 (edited) Can we get a full-length Bible put into the game please? There's a role I'd be interested in playing... Edited August 28, 2013 by mzltv

TreeMan (DayZ) 72 Posted August 28, 2013 I thought I read somewhere that Rocket's injury had something to deal with a grenade or something? Didn't see anything mentioned about that in this article, nice read though.
mzltv 2281 Posted August 28, 2013 I heard that there was like 50 geezers all up in rocket's shit and he was like "alright boys, step aside and no-one has to get hurt" but this glaswegian bloke was like "SQUARE TAE GO LIKE" so it's all kicked off and rocket had to headbutt 48 of them to the ground (which obvs killed them) but then the last 2 turned out to be ninjas with ninja swords and started swinging their blades everywhere so rocket had to remember his training from the army and do like 8 somersaults and throw ninja stars so he killed one of them but then the other ninja lucked out and caught Rocket on the back with their sword so he had to go to A&E and then he realised he was being looked after by the NHS so actually contracted an additional illness to what he originally went in for but he's all better now so it's okay.
Tmull 20 Posted August 28, 2013 What are everyone's thoughts on the interaction with the 'apparently' near-death hiker?I'm not an expert. I've never mountaineered but I would hope in that instance the 'dog-eat-dog' mentality would not win out. I wonder if Dean Hall has had reservations about that moment. He told the reporter about it, so maybe not. Just a very strange anecdote that really should have lead the story. Thoughts?
Skat3rat 1633 Posted August 28, 2013 Yup, full length too. Now when you're sitting on the roof of the hospital in Electro you've got something to pass the time. Reading books irl is too mainstream. Reading them in DayZ is where it's at. I can see myself collecting these books to read while I'm guarding something or waiting for my friends somewhere.

He escaped by tying sea turtles to his feet and swimming 'til he hit land.
