Clearly it is or he wouldnt have posted it. Whats with these people here that think they have some kind of right to pass their judgement on others points of View and try to put them down . SEE the point where he says this is his "Personal Opinion"

no i am tired of people like you, putting others down over their opinions. and yes i said "Personal Opinion" cause some dumb asses read forums like people are making a general statement.

oh and if that doesn't make sence to your small little brain, its like this. I have got my opinion, and you have got your opinion. And personally i dont give a rats ass if you don't like my opinion, so when i do comment on the forums and you don't like my opinion, ignore it and move on please. When i have said something that you might agree with, then say something useful.

you guys are so tired of the haters on the forums. I say let them voice their opinions. The Dayz forums should be ruled by the fanboys.

And the game will be shit when it is released since Matt failed to craft something in the video...or will it be shit anyway since they are using shaky handcames for their devblogs and their headset sound quality sucks...or will it be shit because  Rocket refuses to turn of his motion blur and headbobbing in his devblogs ???

I am tired of smart asses that seem to perfectly know how to develop and publish a computer game and do not even have the humor to smile about such stuff....

Dont know about you mate but if I had a product I was releasing and I had the potential to allow millions to see it in Europe and the rest of the  World as potential Buyers, I would have my Team peaked and switched on, ready to rock. Would even have most of them on Cocaine or Aphemtimines...................................But that's just me

Personally, I think Dean should definitely put the Alpha price up to £60, like Planetary Annihilation did.

That way, you only get the people who really want to be involved in the Alpha Stage. Otherwise, no-one will pay that much for an Alpha.

I'd probably have to hold off. Not because I don't want to be a part of alpha, but because I'm feckin' skint. :P

The only thing a higher price-tag guarantees you is an alpha full of rich kids.

Hold on let me scan for some possible logic in your post...

Hmm...

Nope, didn't find anything.

orlok you are some kind of special dude. 1700 post of telling people to stop complaining about the game. When i last checked this is a open forum and people are entitled to their opinions? Please start ignoring these people or is your role as "Dayz Forum Team" to shut these people down?

Dean goes about it maturely and lets people have their opinions as not everybody will be happy with what they see in the Standalone.

Its like with the latest standalone footage. I dont like the way the character runs and crouch runs, but i dont moan about it as i know it is pre alpha. others might say it looks crappy or say the game is taking to long on this open forum and then you will come shoot them down again?

Hello there

Yes, I am rather special, how kind you you to notice.

Like you I also have an opinion. I have not "shut you down" in any way.

All i said to you is to have patience and wait. There are other things to do in the meantime. Im sorry if you find that immature.

Whilst i am part of the "Dayz Forum Team" I am also a member of the forum as well and i like to reply to posts that in my opinion are daft and to me that particular post was.

Rgds

I liked everything, the animations, the attachments, the inventory in inventory, but there was one thing: The zombies seemed pretty fucked. I guess that's the 0% ready zombies being ported to multiplayer.

Are you being serious?

With early access, paid alphas and betas, incredible pre-order exclusives and kickstarter craze everywhere, I am really worried about today's gamers' critical, sensible mind in general as it is.

Now you suggest making it ridiculously expensive to test and try to help improving a game that seems to be a work-in-progress for quite some time, even after alpha release?

Dean has said a couple of times the price for standalone will continue to rise, as game development progresses. This is the only right thing to do.

Honestly, if they would do something arrogant and assholish like you suggested, I would consider not giving any money at all to a company that haughty, regardless of how much I want to play the game.

And by the way: Really wanting to play a game has little to do with how much you are willing to spend on it, in my opinion, and nothing at all with how much you are able to.

So how many developers do you think would have come out with a statement like that, eh?

I'm the post processing effects and all the bloom and blur that goes with it has gone. The framerate looks better as well, I was getting worried with the E3 video, that looked like a downgrade. The weapons look a lot better too, not as weak as the E3 video, though that might just be because it's a different weapon. The running didn't look as odd to me either, I dunno if that has changed or if I just didn't pay as much attention to it.

The only thing I'm worried about really now is...

1. The Zombies, they're not in this build it seems like? I hated how they were in E3, the jump thing was too common, they shouldn't do it all the time and they just jumped straight past you. The Zombies are the worst thing about Dayz, worse than the hacking (which funnily enough I've never come across) and I just hope they act in a way that they're fun and they don't feel like you have to glitch them out to stand a chance. In the Mod they run too fast and all over the place that they're so hard to hit and not fun.

2. Jumping/Vaulting... I want to be able to climb over tall walls, I can jump over my 7ft fence simply by standing next to it, jumping and using my hands to push down and pull me up. I'm so sick of having to run all around a wall looking for gaps in it, when I should just be able to jump over. Dayz Tavania map is the worst for this, whoever made that map just put like 2 mile walls around everything and forces you to run all around. I could understand if you were carrying 60lbs of gear in your backpack but this isn't a military game.

3. Military weapons, I noticed you were using something that looked like an M16, M203, M4 or whatever, could have even been an SA80... I wasn't paying too much attention to it. I don't want the game to get to the point where everyone has powerful automatic rifles as it just means shoot on sight all the time.

4. Inventory vicinity worries me, I don't want the inventory to be really fast to use. Currently it's so slow that it makes you think twice about looting and that's how it should be. I could imagine looting a dead body takes a long time going through all the pockets, so we should have to spend time and risk being killed like how it currently works in the mod.

5.Will we have TF2 hats?

As far as the weapon, it is an M4 and they are currently using it so as to set a benchmark.  Once they get the M4 and all attachments working to the Devs standards i assume they will roll out all the other weapons.  It by no means implies that military weapons will be commonplace.

There were zombies in the town but i don't think they were set to respawn and as such were all killed off pretty quickly.

The game is improving with every update there is no doubt about it.

Gonna guess you need blood in the bag before you can craft an IV starter kit.

Considering its a brand new feature and Matt is not actually a developer, i wouldn't expect him to know the ins and outs of a pre alpha build that is constantly changing.

I logged back in for the first time in a month just to comment on this post.

Let me ask you this: How in the flaming hell are you going to get blood in the bag... WITHOUT an iv starter kit?

EDIT: Also, good to see everyone standing around here doing the same shit that they were a while back. I read the Wired magazine article that features Dean's story. It arrived in the mail yesterday and states specifically that "the game will be released this fall". So is Wired magazine wrong, or is this another "miscommunication"?

Maybe he meant that the price would be that for the alpha and it would keep rising as the dev stages move up?

Watch from 1m30s

But remember, its very much a pre-alpha ;)
